Squiggs You got me all fired up with rumor mongering, so I had to go and find some more. The first one is from imonamilkcarton's Insider, who has been right about most of the stuff he's posted, although he hasn't posted much. The second one is a different MisterX guy, but it's *kinda* generic and might be totally made up. Either way, here ya go....more legit guy first. I really wonder about the exclusive if true...I bet it's RDR2:
per usual, misterxmedia's made up "insiders" and "sources" are wrong.

So how valid is this stuff? Well, thanks to a reliable source, I've been able to confirm that ntkrnl is indeed connected to Microsoft, although I haven't been able to verify any of the poster's claims. Just because the leaker is in a position to know this information doesn't mean this information is true. (When I reached out this morning, Microsoft declined to comment.)

On top of all that, according to one person familiar with the situation who spoke to me under condition of anonymity, Microsoft is currently trying to track down and identify ntkrnl. According to that person, Microsoft executives are looking to take legal action against ntkrnl, which, again, doesn't mean that everything he says is true

That guy is a bit full of it...won't be seeing 1080p, 60fps anytime soon? Yet we have Forza 5 and the sports games all 1080p, 60fps.
Actually, the only full budget exclusive for either system that is native 1080p at a consistent 60 fps is Forza 5. Of course, Sony fans want to pretend it doesn't exist.

Also, for all the 1080p/60 fps bickering, both of Sony's exclusives Knack and Killzone are no better. Knack is 1080p/30 fps despite being a pretty bland platformer/action game and Killzone is 1080p/30 in SP and unlocked 1080p/60 fps with wild fluctuations in fps.

And upcoming Infamous is another 1080p/30 fps game. With noticeable fog too.

Looking at all the key multiplats, the only series of games that are consistently 1080p/60fps on both systems are EA Sports and NBA 2k14.

You actually got a good point there. Many people in general act like the PS4 does it all so fantastically much better than Xbox One. I especially see the whole Tomb Raider thing being mentioned many many times now. So all of a sudden that last-gen game with graphical improvements is the ONE game to keep comparing the consoles...bit lame really. One thing is true though...PS4 has more 1080p games.

This was posted already?

And Drive Club is another 30 fps game. Although since it got delayed half a year, perhaps the devs doubled the frame rate in that time. Considering there's been no chat about that (since 60 fps is the hot topic now), I'll safely assume DC is not a 60 fps racer yet.

There is no way sunset overdrive is coming out this year when we haven't even seen a single screenshot, not one. I don't believe that for a second.
That was already confirmed on twitter by Spencer and the Devs saying "game is still scheduled for 2014 release"

No one counts Forza because they downgraded it from the reveal to get it to hit 60 fps. The game doesn't look nearly as good as it originally did.

Man I really think having a dusk drive kept the X1 kinda back. I can see why they did it. Not everyone has the internet.
BUT when you say your selling the console of the future ( don't know if I actually heard that friend m anyone so lets just say I said it) Having a discdrive so 20th century. A non disk won screams the future.
I have yet to put a disc in my XBO, don't have a need to.
I know it's not for everybody, but i would have liked the option to buy one without an optical drive.
Smaller, sleeker and digital download only.

Maybe they will launch an optional model at some point.

Exactly the sacrifices that Forza made for 60fps and 1080p were huge.

Really? Cause i haven't been noticing it. Then again. i haven't seen comparisons either.

True, but to be fair, the first one I quoted isn't MisterX's guy, it's imonamilkcarton's guy....and as stated in the paragraph they have been right about quite a few things. He only posts on milkcarton's forum (xboxgaf.boards.net), and only once every few months. Worth checking out IMO.

The first paragraph is from MisterX's second 'source' and yeahhh...big grain o' salt.

No worries, thats why i didn't mention him. I like milkcarton because his inside info is actually plasusible.

So, aside from the MS stores who else will be carrying the digital only sku if it comes out?

The usual suspects most likely. If they go this route, they may offer the digital versions of games at retail (buy a card with a code) so the retailers can make a few bucks there. When ITunes got huge, did BB/Target/Walmart stop selling iPods? They also make good money on console accessories as well.

In fact, I would highly prefer this as I'll be getting most (disc-based) games for $37 pre-tax....if they sold digital codes at retail, I could likely get those for $37 as well and I'd feel much better about going digital.

I don't think Itunes and Ipods is the same. That was just a small segment of what those stores sell. An outlet like Gamestop -- the world's largest videogame retailer of hardware and software -- only sells videogames, hardware and accessories. It would hit them hardest. The newer model could undervalue the present model and other retailers might not be eager to embrace that idea either. Gamestop was already hostile to the brand when they tried this the first time. I don't think they will be willing to undercut their business model for the long term by embracing this in the short term without some sort of carrot. They have the leverage here. It will be interesting to see how it plays out.

Personally I have no interest in digital only until they are at price parity with Steam. I have no interest in giving up my rights and choices for the same price as keeping them.

How exactly are you getting games for 37 bucks?

I definitely disagree, watching all the vids online and then playing it I was really surprised how good it looks.

That article is completely wrong. Kinect is not optional, but the games not using gestures don't have to have that 8% stay reserved for them. It still reserves 2% for Kinect

As ex BestBuy employee I gotta tell you that they make $0 off of games/software/cd's but what they do get is to strategicly place items in your path to get your atention to buy something else too. So as long as they get 10 people to come into a store for a game at least one will buy accessory or a cable where cables are upmarked heavily (they buy Monster gold plated hdmi for $14 and sell for $79)

I agree with this. Or actually bring back family share with like 5 ppl. Me and cousins would probably buy 60% of the games in other words devs would still make same amount of money from us but we we would be much happier customers and encouraged to buy more. See I beat my NFS Rivals have 1000G in it every single event with gold and me on top of friends leaderboard and what now? I just let it rott fragment by fragment as I'll never play it again and only got ~3 weeks out of it.

Well, a bit more when you factor in the "membership fee". Through BB GamersZone Unlocked. They offered me $30 for 2 years (as I was already a member). They got rid of the @Gamer mag and implemented a 20% off on all game purchases. Got all my X1 games for $48 and then got $20 in rewards certs for the 2 games I had preordered. Most preorders also garner the $10 reward cert. So, if I preorder almost any game, I get them for $48 at the register and then get a $10 reward cert about 20-30 days later so $38(sorry miscalculation on the $37)...and I just put the reward certs towards the next game(s). Nice little diddy. Unfortunately, if you weren't a member previously, they hiked up the price to like $120 or something....so not everybody can get as good of a deal at this point.

I somewhat see your point RE: Gamestop ...but eventually, we'll get to a more digital centric model for console gaming. If Gamestop sells the console and the code for the game, they can at least be a player in the space. Also the accessories are still in play. Not saying it's going to happen but I can picture it happening.

Ugh...what a horrible deal. Unless you have an extra PS3 laying around why would anyone do it? Also if your dopey enough to not be a PS+ subscriber I guess it would make sense.
Anyone would half a brain would keep the PS3, subscribe to PS+, and play a slew of free games every month.

So I have to PAY every month to get FREE games.?

And yet the accusation is that it can't do 1080/60. Even if Forza was "downgraded" the doesn't change the fact that it is 1080/60. Just like Killzone wouldn't look as good if it ran at 60 (SP).

Of course, it's a fools argument because it will always be a compromise. No matter how powerful it is. We don't know how much that E3 build had to think about. It was a work in progress and I know the physics weren't finalized yet. There may have been additions that ate up more cycles. Who knows? But it's foolish to keep bringing it up. Games change a bit while they are being made, you know.
