Official Forza 5 discussion v2.0

Fair enough.

You can tell the difference in art style that's very apparent in this gif.

One looks like it's in the middle of a tropical storm, the other looks like a typical rainy day.

Like for like comparisons are a better way to judge artistic style and such. Since they both model the atmosphere as well as fog, rain, sunny, dark, cloudy etc etc.. we should be able to find appropriate comparison shots

Yeah, when both games out, we'll see some proper comparisons.

I think the cartoon thing is just an unfair stigma regarding Forza in general. It looks realistic in its own right.

I think DC has more realistic lightning and darker colors though.

Its kind of like GTA4 vs. GTA5. GTA5 uses colors much more realistically.

looks like an epic title, can't believe how much they are adding... I just wish I could get over 30fps

Love the first one, but I'm scared to pay $55 for the 2nd one. Stupid MS store (online too) had Horizon for $15 after 3 weeks of its released.

I'm gonna have to eat some crow on this one but, I've been paying more attention to the surroundings and have been noticing more "x" tree s than I'd like. It's becoming distracting, lol. I don't think I noticed before because I usually play in cockpit mode.

It doesn't really take away from the core game, and there is still plenty of 3D foliage, but the launch game niggles have been poking me recently.

I also think I'm getting burnt on sim racers and am longing for the arcade style like burnout or FH2

PS. I've really come to despise the Saleen super car. The breaking on it is atrocious.

There's certainly spots out there. Every now and again something poor quality catches your eye. It might be worse in external views. I always use the cockpit view though and even with a class D slower car I barely notice them. I'm not saying they aren't there. If you drive slow and look for them, you'll find some.

The game looks amazing in replay/photo mode anyway and that's what matters most. Best of both worlds in my opinion - high fps in game and better graphics in photo mode. Check out the official Forza site in the media forum. Some of the pictures are absolutely amazing.

F5 has become my "go to" game over the last few weeks. I never want to play anything else. I have all these new games, and I go back to F5 every time I game!

I've actually been tempted to pick up the original Forza Horizon because I never played it, but worried it will feel like too much of a step back from F5.

Those sneaky bastards at Turn 10 added the 2014 Stingray and the 2013 Veneno....BUT you can't buy them individually...only part of a pack. They tease you with the best ones, but they are never the ones you can buy individual. BASTARDS!!!

I bought the pack with the new Stingray.....oh boy....so moist.

I hope you play this on repeat while driving it.

I'm impressed with the driver in that video. Nurburgring is eating my lunch.

I tried to do the achievement for getting a lap time under 7:15 on Nurburgring with the P1. I thought I was great in that car, and I think I was off by like 15+ seconds. Not sure if it's even worth trying again.

Forza may be my the next title I pick up. That may have a little competition though as I played the demo of DR3 and was floored! I'll spend way longer standing in Gamestop and holding both titles trying to decide, then I need to. Lawd.

Get both, they're both great.:bang:

Try the demo first if it is still out there. For me the 30fps on Horizon didn't feel right after playing FM4 on 360. I didn't like it anyway. It was like a sim-lite. It wasn't quite a sim, but it wasn't arcade enough to be fun. I like my racing games to either be a sim or arcade.

Anyone who still plays campaign, add me so out drivatars can make money off of each other's races! I promise my drivatar won't crash into you constantly*.

I beat yours the other day. :D

Since you are getting DriveClub, and DC and FH will be very similar arcade racers, I would go with Sunset. You just got Forza 5 anyway.

One is open world and one is a hybrid sim/arcade dedicated to visuals so they're pretty much different games to me but I guess I could get FH2 later then. I'm just waiting for SO to be able to preorder/preload.

In that video forza 4 looks like poo, but in reality its a great looking game still. so that just tells you how good forza 5 really does look. Definitely my go to game this gen.
