Game Lineup Comparisons v. 1.5

When I look at this year, my consoles collect dust while I just play IOS games. Nothing releasing this fall has me all that interested, might just end up playing Disney Infinity with the kid. Maybe I'm just getting burned out on games.

Grumble, grumble, old man something or other.
I'm prone to taking breaks for weeks/months/years from gaming, when I'd feel like I was burning out.

Now, I make an effort to throw myself into games I wouldn't normally play. I had never played a CoD unto AW, I'd barely played any indie games until 3 years ago, and I have a new respect for 'calm' games.

Even playing games with kids can be refreshing, like you said. Laughing my arse off to Rayman with my nephews was so rewarding.

Although in saying that, one of the games I tried was Crimson Dragon... What a price of s***..

Who knew a game currently getting 79 on Metacritic would be the poster child for "quality over quantity"

I didn't know there were no games rated 80 or higher.

Hey it hit 80! Now it Counts! Time to celebrate

Oh we're at the metacritic portion of the "Union argues videogames" programme. I'll come back when you guys are done.

Stay tuned for next week when we present "Union argues videogame sales matter regarding game lineup week."

I like Sony's PS4 ads claiming "The best place to play." How can it be the best place to play if you're showing us games that are on Xbox and lacking exclusives?

Nah though, both consoles are the best place to play because they both have plenty of great games.

Its why I don't prefer these types of games.
If they made a 20+ hour campaign with different paths/outcomes then I be all over it.
But $65 for a short ride...?Rental seems more reasonable.

campaign length should be what ever it needs to be to tell a good story. 6 hour quality> 30 hour drawn out, messy story.

Yea it's crazy the game that came out on the 25th of August all of 2 weeks ago is still $60!

It was kind of crazy when it went on sale to $40 a few days after release.

DAMN. The game is still a full $60? That's pretty crazy for what one might consider an indie.

8 to 10 hour SP campaigns are hardly uncommon.

Not to mention, the production values blow away any indie I've ever seen. Calling it an "indie" is just your fanboyish, transparent attempt to dismiss the game. If this were an MS title, you wouldn't be saying it's like an indie. You'd be gushing all over MS for their risk-taking and willingness to embrace new, creative approaches (which is what the writer on QB said about it recently, btw).

Yup, i don't understand the outcry for a game's length. If it's fun, tells the story, and you feel it's worth your money then what's the problem?

Calling it an indie game is silly though. The Order had a shorter campaign and had zero replay value. It would never be mistaken for an indie game.

Until Dawn is more like Ryse. Games that were motion controlled experiments that thankfully became full fledged games.

Piss off, Andie. Stop acting like a little b****. I said what I said because I've read a few sites where people who played the game said it was too short (VaL mentioned the same thing). Nothing to do with Fanboy bulls***, you twit. Go eat a f***ing donut and chill out.

FYI I actually think the game looks incredible. But if its a short game and still at retail $60, thats too much.

You acted the same way on another Ps4 game not long ago, that was also too short and wrote a f***ing article about game length and how it shouldnt matter at full retail price. Mark.

Sit yo ass down somewhere...

Did you just talk to our mod like that??? Oh hellllll no that won't go.

Oh snap.

I can understand someone not thinking a 5-10 hour game is worth their $60 but I don't think that length is as important if there is replay value.

Console wars have broken Mcmasters. Now whose posts will I laugh at?

Oh, Marty. You do love to be the center of drama. Thread banned and warned.

Just for the record Andy, don't heed his advice. It's a trap. Eating a donut will NOT chill you out. That is if you even needed chilling. If I had to guess McMasters just downed a 12-pack of those donut holes himself.

Well... That escalated quickly...

I had never heard of this game. I'm digging the vibe of it!

By the way, I'm going as Robin at Halloween! Can finally reuse my comicon costume haha.

Imagine if game comparisons were done D&D-style. "I counterattack with Halo 6 and reduce your lineup value by 16 hit points!" With all of the numbers thrown around in this thread, it might as well be. I think it'd be fun.

Not going as a Teletubby? My mental image of you is shattered.
