Should I buy Project Cars from Steam? I'll pick up Blazerush. Already own Elite but I'm going to get an Oculus Store key for that.

Oculus Touch is now available for preorder.

That controller looks wild.

Designed from the same company that did the xbox controllers. And yeah, they are $199, but they come with an extra sensor for higher tracking volume needed for standing VR. These aren't just regular controllers either. They track your finger movement. So yeah, you can flip people off in VR now. :)

Got mine pre ordered, ordering an extra sensor at the end of the month for great roomscale coverage. Got to say I'm absolutely blown away by the Rift. Love demoing it to friends and family.

Mine's pre-ordered as well. Have you seen the game they announced called "Lone Echo"? Looks amazing!

Touch controls have been reviewed!

Verdict
If you have an Oculus Rift, the Touch controllers are an absolutely must-have accessory. With these comfortable and versatile controllers, Oculus has finally closed most of the gap with the competing Vive when it comes to providing millimeter-accurate hand tracking in virtual reality, and surpasses it in the dexterity of your virtual hands. The only major weakness is that the out-of-the-box set doesn’t give full 360-degree coverage, so unless you buy another sensor it’s easy to lose track of your orientation and end up reaching for something that’s blocked by your body. Even so, adding hand tracking to your VR setup opens up many worlds full of possibilities, and the Touch controllers are the finest option available.

It really is an impressive piece of tech! I can't wait to see what they do with the next hmd too.

I got my touch controllers last night...was up WAYYYYY too late playing. :) Just fantastic. Got 3rd sensor on the way. Need to make more room in my mancave to move around once it gets here for full roomscale. Just simply amazing though, well worth the wait.

Mine are due between 16-21 Dec. Can't wait. Reviews are excellent and the software is looking great too. 50 Touch games for launch is fantastic.

Damn, I just can't express enough how great these are with the rift. I've been playing "The Unspoken" a lot...haven't even touched any other MANY of the FREE games I got with this. Still need to play dead & buried, VR sports, Ripcoil (was free with any purchase), Bullet Train, Rec Room (All free!). First Contact was a great tutorial. I bought Super Hot VR to get Ripcoil for free. Next week I should get my 3rd sensor so I can do room scale stuff.

This is just simply amazing. Fully realizes the vision I had for VR (at least in the near future, still many challenges to go). 10/10

The price drop is really good. Robo Recall free release is amazing. Unfortunately I am about to send my rift back to Oculus for replacement. :( The screen keeps going black every 10 minutes. Should have new one within week though. Robo Recall...amazing...

Robo Recall is a triumph.
I hadn't heard of that game so I watched some videos. Looks like amazing fun with style. It seems there is an outside chance in the future for it to appear on other VR units. For this tech to succeed and grow there shouldn't be any exclusives and standards created amongst competitors. A concerted effort needs to build the user base and create a bigger pie to then be fought over. Wishful thinking.

People been playing on Vive.

Good interview with a VP for HTC Vive talking VR present and future and how Oculus' exclusives are bad for the VR platform:

"We're not using content as a weapon. We're using content to help create and sustain the VR ecosystem."

https://www.gamespot.com/articles/h...utm_medium=email&utm_source=weekly_newsletter

The majority of the VR community (both Vive and Rift owners) disagree HTC's point of view. So investing in content is bad? He thinks that spoiling indie devs with truckloads of money will make those devs forget how to make content on a budget...

The fact is, that these devs will benefit from more people having a headset to buy said content. People other than the early adopter tech nerds (me) need a reason to invest in VR. All the shovelware that's on steam isn't going to do that. People bought switch for Zelda, Xbox for Halo, Playstation for Uncharted etc etc. There needs to be AAA experiences and big publishers like EA and Ubisoft see the VR market as too much of a risk for that kind of funding.

Vive players are bored right now. What do they have forward to in 2017? Then look at the lineup for Oculus for 2017. Oculus also just knocked down their entry price for touch and rift by 200.

Oculus has been far from perfect in lot of areas but I think this whole exclusivity business is blown way out of proportion. Great content is coming through the pipeline, and that's all I care about. If second gen Vive has better content, I'll go there. Content is king.

I agree with what you are saying Lucid. I meant to comment on the article when I posted it and it certainly does come across as the company who may be slipping behind calling foul. That said, there is no doubt that the 2 biggest barriers for VR to catch on is it's high cost and lack of quality content. No doubt that a few really good exclusives for OR could do real damage to Vive. And it doesn't necessarily have to come from a big-time studio with truckloads of cash. I am betting that it won't actually. This media is ripe for a small studio to make its mark with a creative idea and rise above like Mojang or Psyonix.

I have the PSVR and got a lot of miles out of the fantastic Resident Evil game. But now I am wondering what's next. Not sure if Star Trek has the depth I'd love like a Mass Effect and I haven't heard a whisper since E3 2016 about Fallout 4 joining the VR lineup. I know OR and Vive users have had some nice titles come out recently but not sure if they would function on my unit if they even are considering a port.
