Of course NMS goes on sale right after I grab the physical version. That said I did grab the Collector's version and got it for $47 or something. Think regular physical copy is only $40 now so PSN pricing is a rip anyways.

I didn't like the game AT ALL, but I didn't get far into it. Never played it post patch either. You will have to let us know your thoughts.

Yea the sketch ass early reviews/impressions are why I held off. Didn't really save much money going with the Collector's edition but I thought it was only at Gamestop at launch. Saw it pop up on Best Buy when I was randomly checking prices so I grabbed it. I have heard that after some updates that it got better. Probably going to be a while before I get to it though.

Sony needs to calm the f**k down with the sale they're have been lately! You see microsoft this is how you do sale.

Bought Infamous First Light (about freaking time it went on sale) and Axion Verge. Was gonna buy Neon Chrome but for some reasons it aint on sale. Thinking of buying Shadow Complex Remastered as well but I'll wait till the end of the weekend.

MS is having a sale next week on 200 plus games up to 75% off. I didn't read what games tho.

Yeah, I'm about to buy several games I'll likely never play just because I can't pass on the sale prices. Yay for no self control!

Same. My backlog just keeps getting bigger and bigger every week. Good thing I know where to get $10/$20/$50 PSN cards up to 30% off or else I'll be eating instant cup noodles everyday.

Dreamfall: Chapters - episodic adventure game released on PC, the third in the Dreamfall series. It has gotten very mixed reviews, so beware. Unless you're a fan of the earlier games, you'd better give it a pass. I really liked the second Dreamfall game (Longest Journey), so I'll take the plunge eventually. Not sure of the price, but I'd guess $20 to $30.

Nice to see Lara Croft can still find work.... ;)

Oh yeah, ABZU is like Brain Sherberttm!

Soooo Relaxing, beautiful music, and oddly unnerving sometimes (for me, due to being underwater)..

Another good month for the Plus lineup

Killing Floor 2, PS4
Life is Strange, PS4
Abyss Odyssey, PS3
WRC 5: World Rally Championship, PS3
Neon Chrome, PS Vita (crossbuy with PS4)
Spy Chameleon, PS Vita (crossbuy on PS4)

I'm so psyched about Killing Floor 2, almost bought it several times. Supposed to be a ton of fun and look great on the Pro.

I thought PSN plus has been pretty dismal actually. But this is a solid month.

It was pretty weak for awhile but Tearaway, LBP3, and Killing Floor show a real effort to improve it and not just be indie only.

Is Killing Floor something like Left 4 Dead? I've heard good things about Life is Strange as well so I'll had that to the library.

I really enjoyed Life is Strange, but it's an odd one. You have to be in the mood for a game like this, about 18 year old girls (and others). It has lots of dialog, a good story with some dramatic moments, and choices that really matter. The pace is slower than average, the mood is quiet, the main character is an introvert. There is a "special power" that comes into play, involving the ability to rewind time.

The story is basically about a friendship between you and another girl (along with a bunch of secondary characters). You hear narration from inside the main character's head. The main negative for me was that the dialog sounded stupid at times (e.g., "hella" this, "hella" that). The positives greatly outweighed that, though.

At the time, I was eager to play something that felt fresh and original -- not just another shooter or action game -- and this hit the spot. It's worth a try, at least if you're in the mood for something like what I described. It won some awards, was well reviewed, and got lots of praise for its story and originality.

I liked it quite a bit. Most games when I finish, I don't remember anything of them and just move on to the next thing. But I still remember several scenes from LiS, two and a half years later.

Town of Light, indie, coming out June 8th. Set in a mental institution. Supposedly rather grim. It's a first-person exploration game ("walking sim"), but it's gotten some praise. It is flying way below the radar, probably because the subject matter turns people off. Sounds interesting to me. Admittedly, reviews have been mixed.

Sample comment from GAF: "It is a great game, I wholeheartedly recommend it although people interested should know its biggest strength is not in its mechanics, beyond a few puzzles here and there. It's all exploration, atmosphere and the sad, somber, depressing story of a young woman who suffered both because of mental illness and the limitations of mental care during her time. It shows impressive research behind it in regards to actual medical practices and treatments, as well as symptoms and evolution of mental illness.

"This is not a happy game, it's not a "gamey" game if I may use that term, but when all is said and done it leaves you with a hard ass punch to the feels."

Ars Technica:

The Good
  • Handles its delicate mental health subject matter with surprising maturity
  • Haunting narrative and location
  • Pitch perfect cut scenes
  • Doesn't rely on horror clichés
The Bad
  • Some scenes might be a bit too disturbing for some
The Ugly
  • If you're not into the narrative, there's not a whole lot else to do
Verdict
The Town of Light is an admirable exploration of mental health issues, and a disturbing horror experience to boot. Just don't expect to solve any puzzles or shoot things in the face with a shotgun.

So, anyone have experience with the PS Pro in a hotter room? I ask because I am about to. Our weather is getting very hot and super humid and I wondered if anyone had any experience with the Pro in warmer conditions? I know my stock PS4 would just shut down with no warning when it got hot.

Do you have AC at all or just fans? Outside temp is 90s here but have AC cranked up so it's like 75-80 and don't have any issues.

I can't get full house a/c, only those portable ones that don't work well. My system is actually in my basement, but believe it or not it can get really hot down there. The humidity is the worst problem. My old PS4 did not like it when it got real humid.

Our weather here in Buffalo is so bizarre. People don't believe me, but we simply don't cool down at night. Daytime highs are the same as everyone else, but overnight lows are like 75 with super high humidity, so the house never cools down.

I've been doing most of my games on my launch X1 anyway. If that goes, I'm getting scorpio anyway. It is time for me to give Destiny a break until D2.
