Just finished it for the 1st time Wed night made out like a bandit. Got no time to explain quest atheon's eye, vex mythoclast, and preadyth's timepiece adept. Not to mention the legendary loot gear and weapons.
f***ing hate. you. You get Myhoclast first time. Bloody. thing will not drop for me.

Not sure why but i've been thinking about getting Destiny 2 recently. Wasn't a big fan of the first game but i don't know, maybe this one will hit the spot. I'll have Val carry me like i was going to carry him in Gears 4 if it goes down.

Which platform? If PS4 hit me up.

Did you try the beta? Not trying to talk you out of it, but if the 1st one didn't thrill you this one probably won't either. It is all about the loot grind and playing with friends.

Yup, PS4 if i get it. Never actually gave the first game a real shot, i wrote it off as a poor man's MMORPG so we'll see. FFXI is like my favorite game ever and it had nothing to do with the actual game by the end of it. More about who you play with and enjoying the grind for what it is.

Feel free to add me - kerosene31 (I could double my ps4 friends!!!)

Don't think of Destiny like an MMO or an RPG. It is really a Diablo style loot game, just as an FPS. There are only 20 levels again so it isn't like a leveling treadmill (assuming it is as easy to level as it was in D1).

I'm def in for the PvE in this game. Still think the MP is hot garbage.

It is an MMO and RPG hybrid and because of that it is neither. You will notice the influences the game got from those genres all the time, but Destiny is unique and should be treated as such.

It is definately a game that is better when played with friends.

Gamespot is getting pretty click-baity so take this FWIW

Sounds like they want to be quicker with new content than with D1 (which was a common gripe). They are supposedly bringing in new studios to add content. (hopefully they figure out a way to work with the engine better).

Deej and Luke Smith have also stated alot of that info.

I just hope this more content being drip fed is more substatilnal than their D1 events and are. permanant additions also.

Had a PS4 and played destiny 1 for a while and love the concept. Ended up selling my PS4/games as the the load times and FPS with controllers were a huge turn off. Very much looking forward to the PC version!

Load times? Put a SSD or SSHD in!

I might double dip and get the PC version as well.

I'm still worried about the fixed weaapons change. Bungie aren't showing any off and what we have seen has been pretty dull with the rolls focusing on boring stuff like handling, ROF, distance, etc. Virtually no cool and interesting perks have been seen. Only the exotics had them too, Riskrunner - isn't new. Sunshot - isn't new. Cold Heart - new due it being a new archetype.

Where are all the new cool, exciting perks? Are the days of running with 2 cool perks like Firefly & Crowd Control. dead?

I'm worried.

I think mods with different perks will be available but needed to be grinded to get....

Crowd Control and Reactive Reload were combined into one perk in the beta with the Shadow Pulse Rifle.

There are no mods like that. Mods are shader + element for eldmental weapons, that is it. Armor mods seem to be functiln only, more super energy , more mobility, etc.

For me, I'm glad I won't have to grind endlessly for a good roll. There were so many guns I couldn't get good rolls on. The strike specific ones were the worst. Eyasluna or Treads Upon Stars (think that was the scout but might have been another one). Fairly easy to get, but a good roll? That takes hours and hours of grinding and zero skill, just blind luck. That wasn't fun to me.

You never had to grind endlessly for good rolls, those rolls were easy to get.

It was far better than doing sepiks 100 times and gettkng the same devil dawn everytime. Grinding for Eyaslunas and Treads upon stars is the only real reason to do strikes for the thousanth time.

Where ks the incentive to keep playing strikes once you have the fixed loot? If the beta is any indication the intrinskc perks are nowhere near enough.

why did you buy a loot based game if you hate grinding.

There's a line. My big beef is that getting an Eyasluna or a Treads required a strike key or whatever they called them. They weren't super hard to get, but limited. Then, IIRC it wasn't even guaranteed you get one with a key (always ended up getting gear for a different character). Then on top of that, the roll could be garbage.

Finally you get the gun you want and the roll is crap and useless. That's where grinding goes to frustration.

I guess really I'm ok with grinding as long as they get rid of the garbage rolls. Hand cannons were especially sensitive. Get a few bad perks and it was useless. Hopefully the new system fixes this anyway so it is more just looking for that perfect roll.

Loot games are delicate. Early on in the game gear was too darn hard to get (the forever 29 days). Then they got a lot better. I could play a few hours and usually make some progress. It is a tough balance, as they've got to give us enough bites of the carrot while still leaving enough left to chase.

If I do a raid, do I need to set aside like a couple hours?

lol, so you aredn't ok with grrinding at all. Bad and god rolls are what grinding is all about. You are also codemning grinding based on a build that sold god roll gear on an almost weekly basis.

Not too mention that there will be plenty of crap rolls in D2...how many great rolls? Could be none, I will bet tthere aren't many.

ROI didn't last very loong for me. It had nothing worth grinding for. Once you bought that God rolled weapon, found the Nemesis Star and got Icebreaker to drop there was nothing left to chase, nothing to bring you back to Nightfall or strikes or any of the worlds. The grind is absolutdly essential for a game like Destiny.

So, you love the grind, but barely played ROI. You're confusing content with grinding.

Lol. No. I said there is nothing to chase because of how easy it is to get god rolls and new weapons, there is no incentive to grind, and because of that the DLC was short lived.

Yeah? I enjoy it...it gives the game life for me.
Eya is a PVP grind though.

There's a balance and Destiny has been on different sides of it.

I know for me in the early days I would play quite a few hours on the weekend and come Sunday I'd have absolutely nothing. I would go home on Friday looking forward to a fun weekend and at the end I had nothing. That was no fun for me.

Then later on it almost went the opposite where the vendor rolls were almost all god rolls.

People need to remember that all kinds of players play Destiny. Some people can farm the raid every weeknight. For me I can barely hit a few strikes or pvp during the week.

Players like Menace are going to hit the game hard and be bored in a few weeks. I'll still be getting into the early content at that point. I hope Destiny doesn't turn into the game where the time you have to play = how good you are. If so I'll be dropping out early. I know Menace needs an endless loot grind to reward his time, but if that's the case I'm probably out (I think Bungie builds the game with me in mind so hopefully I'm ok).

On top of that' my Destiny time still gets limited by other games. No matter how great the game is I'm going to play other games.

Yeah they do. Cause all we need is another game just giving everything away because gamers lack the patience to earn it via lnvestment.

I won't be bored if there is a reason to play it.

Never understood why people like you buy games that obviously need alot lf time invested and then cry cause you don't have enough time.
