Gran Turismo Sport Official Thread

They all suck. It's all about that Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. Keep it Nintendo.

What a time to be racing fan. So many great options, whether it's FM7, GT Sport, or Project Cars 2.

I guess it's PC2 for me, unless they also have plans of doing something really stupid as well.

I am watching that^ video now. I have it set to 1080p in Youtube. The user interface is crisp as hell. But the cars and environment look fuzzy. Is that a game issue or a Youtube issue? And if it was a Youtube issue, then why isn't the UI fuzzy?

Apparently the final car list will eventually be 4-500 cars. No DLC charge for those. It will be interesting to see how long it takes to get to that number...

Which crown is that?
One flatter than cheese pizza, texture wise.

I do give them props on lighting. Then again they can do more with less, like DC, so it's to be expected.

Honestly it isn't a fair comparison until GT can match car count in race, dynamic time and weather, physics and proper engine noises.

I'm glad the vette doesn't sound like a vacuum, but imitates the blandness that is its v8. Yeah com fite mi LS fans, you're v8s sound typical, even with a good exhaust ;)

True, as well as ForzaVista, which look better than any game on the market. Don't forget, with Forza you can have 24 cars with with 4000 layers of liveries, on EACH car. That is 96,000 layers of liveries on the cars in a single race that they have to account for as well. Major resource hog.

I haven't played GT Sport yet. But prior to GT Sport the Gran Turismo series was stagnant in the physics department.

It kind of irritates me that nobody talks about it. The game comes out soon and I've not really heard anything about it. Maybe there's something out there I'm missing but I am interested.

Both games look amazing from what I've seen. The console warriors can comb over every pixel and flippyfloopderp. How do the cars feel?

Gtplanet.net is very active. I'm there every day.

Played the demo. So far I like what I see. The presentation is excellent. The menu UI, and the features are excellent. I can't comment on the physics or much else right now since I only did one race. But presentation is a big step up from FM7 as far as the menu and UI goes. I am very impressed "so far". I have not dug very deep to see the options and feature set, I am only commenting on it from a visual aspect.

Based on my ONE race, I would agree that this game has a more "realistic" look to it compared to FM7. This is based on playing on the PS Pro on my 70 inch 4K UHD HDR TV, but I chose SDR during setup and not HDR, as the particular port that my PS Pro is plugged into on my TV does not support HDR (I have my Xbox One S plugged into that port). I will have to swap ports at some point to see how the game looks in HDR. I have FM7 running with HDR, but that is on the Xbox One S of course. When it gets 4K assets next month, I will have to compare them again.

I have posted some screenshots below from my experience. None of them are from actual IN GAME while I am racing because I didn't know how to do that yet. I took pictures during the replay.
