I'm still on the fence. Visuals look amazing. I really want to wait and see what people think of the full game though.

The online thing still scares me and I want to see how much there really is to do offline.

I really want it. Haven't played a good "sim" racer in a while but the limited offline is still keeping me away. I might check out the Forza 7 demo on PC but Forza 6 I barely touched so kind of want something different.

If you want a good "sim", then you may want to check out Asseto Forza or perhaps Project Cars 2. Forza and GT are still sim-cade... love it though. I don't want to worry about the rules as such, just want the sim in the physics.

I don't necessarily need something 100% sim, just more sim than Need for Speed or similar. I might check out Project Cars 2 though as I never played the first.

I think that's the same guy that said its on the level of Project Cars 2 VR visually, but with only one car.

Yeah...:textures look even flatter and shadows are missing? I guess you gotta sacrifice a lot to get 60 fps on two screens in the psvr headset. Impressive for what it is though. Do wonder what it may look like on the new psvr.

Um, the exact same as on last year's PSVR? I'm pretty sure there is no graphical advantage to the new model PSVR... just through the Pro.

Impressions are that it looks really good in the headset. No idea until Tuesday.

Hope so, seeing that the game technically runs at 120 fps...but one must ask, how far can one flesh out and enjoy 1v1 in vr?

Never heard of VR HDR

Can't recall exactly the fine details, something along the lines that the display inside the new unit supports hdr or that it can do it through the passthrough for a second screen setup...lets see what Tuesday brings us :)

I think it'll just be a nice addition to GT. The main game is where the meat is.

You're talking about the hdr passthrough with the new psvr. Completely unrelated. The new psvr isn't hdr compatible, it has to do with switching cables for hdr gaming on your tv.

Exactly right.

Couple more VR vids, looks like this will be a bit more than just a novelty. All the tracks are included.

Their light model does wonders for VR. It can make PS3 games look near photo real, and it might be one of the best looking VR games. Too bad they can only do 1v1 though... still, if I had a psvr, I'd be all over it

Donning my helmet tomorrow, woot!

I'll be there with you. I watched another stream where a guy was in a Bugatti and he said it was the closest in gaming has come to realistic speed in driving.

All but maybe 10 people have driven a Buggati in real life. He is full of s***. Now, had he came back and said that driving the 1988 Chevrolet Corsica was the closest thing to realistic speed then I would give the gamer some credit.

I bet 99 percent of the gamers haven't driven a single one of the cars in GT Sport and haven't been on those tracks and have never raced and probably never been over 100mph in real life.

..or he could be just saying that in VR in a really fast car that nothing has ever had such a sense of speed before in his history of gaming. I think you may be missing the point they were trying to make.

I was just messin' anyway though :)

First two reviews up at Metacritic are 80

The speedometer on my 2009 Saturn goes up to 160 so... :hehe:

Does this game have something like Forza's rivals mode? Some sort of time trials.

I'm still on the fence with this game. It seems reviewers got an early copy but they couldn't do anything until the servers came up.

Why is this out on a Wednesday?
It's out today boyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!!!

78 at Metacritic right now.

Verdict

Gran Turismo Sport is worthy of the name and a great driving simulator, but a lack of content compared to what the series usually offers makes it a curious beast. If you love Polyphony Digital’s approach and cars, however, it will still tick a lot of your desired boxes.

Despite the cut-down on content, there’s still lots to do in GT Sport. It takes a true perfectionist to achieve all the game has to offer. Everything that is driven is counted for and handed out in bonuses, making the game constantly rewarding. In the long-term haul, come-on in the manufacturers’ showrooms are Gran Turismo vision concept cars, each costing one million credits. That alone is enough motive to keep on racing. The presentation is honed to a shining perfection and you can get lost for hours in it, taking photos of cars in the real world locations with the fancy in-game camera or browsing through manufacturers’ histories paralleled with world time events.

In its need to please as large demographic as possible, GT Sport is unmistakably deep but oddly sparse compared to its illustrious predecessors. The game feels more like a prologue to the inevitable Gran Turismo 7, hopefully including everything that was left out here. To best summarize the experience that is Gran Turismo Sport is as if Ferrari made a sport model of Ferrari 458. It would be stripped of the passenger seat, electronics and comforts like radio, heated seat and power windows, and the suspension would be harder too. It still would be Ferrari, beautiful to look at and beast to drive, but you’d wish it had more to it.

Bold is my emphasis. Sounds like a solid game to me.

Says available now in the PS store (at least here in North America). Mileage may vary elsewhere.

That Eurogamer review makes it sound really tempting...

Reading some more impressions on VR mode and it seems limited from a customization standpoint. It will likely get updates I'm sure.
