Not going to be the first or last game to come for that PUBG money but given that it is the first on consoles its probably going to be big

GTA Online also copied it recently. Don't see them hurting PUBG too much to be honest.

I'd be interested in playing it on XBX with some friends if anyone is interested. Been watching some streams. Looks alot of fun.

I've been playing this and having a ton of fun. I've never played PUBG, so I finally get to experience that type of gameplay. That said, I'm not sure I'd like all of the loadout management in PUBG - Fortnite BR lets you focus on the hiding, shooting, and building instead.

Here's the end of a match where my team won 1st place. I was shot by the other remaining team and my teammate wiped the other team while I was still down (but not out):

I downloaded it for XBox if anyone wants to squad up.

Already up to 10 million players. Get ready for every game to be Battle Royale.

Finally got my chicken dinner in this game, excuse the s***ty shooting, controls still feel weird and clunky to me after playing Overwatch/Halo/Anything else.

Tried this out for the first time last night with a couple buddies. Came in top 5 twice. Fun game for what it is.

It's improved a ton since launch and it's especially improved this week so it's a good thing you waited.

Fortnite Battle Royale released on September 26th, 2017 by Epic Games.

According to Epic, "Over one million players played Fortnite Battle Royale on the first day."

One week later on October 4th, Epic announces that Fortnite Battle Royale has 7 million players.

On October 9th, Epic announces there were 525 thousand concurrent Fortnite Battle Royale players. On October 11th, Epic announces over 10 million people played FNBR.

On October 29th, Epic announces they had over 811 thousand concurrent players.

Why am I telling you this? Because Epic released a mode many viewed as tacked on, to a game that many considered "OK", with next to no real marketing budget, and the player base has skyrocketed organically.

UnionVGF, you are a lover of videogames. This game has more mojo in it's pinky finger than 99% of big budget multiplayer releases. Why UnionVGF, have you not at least tried out, and ultimately fallen in love with a game that most, at one point in time, wrote off as an uninspired PUBG clone? It's free for crying out loud and it's on PC, XBox One, and PS4!

So, I know I'm new here but I feel you've left me no other choice. UnionVGF, I admonish you. I know, you probably think I'm being harsh but I needed to do it. You have been admonished.

WHY DOES IT FEEL LIKE NO ONE HERE HAS TRIED FORTNITE BATTLE ROYALE?!?!

The game is free. It's insanely popular. In my opinion it's right up there with the 4 or 5 GotY contenders this year.

UnionVGF, I want to share with you my digital, high grade, cocaine. This Angel Dust is free and none of you are addicts yet. How is this possible?!

This game is awesome.....better learn to build.

Was thinking about getting the Pve part

Fortnite is pretty much equal to PUBG

I have close to 100 hours in PUBG and 40 into Fortnite and I have to agree. They're both ridiculously fun games that absolutely need to be in Game of the Year discussions this year.

One thing that's fun to keep an eye on is Epic. They are being aggressive as hell right now because of their little console head start on PUBG. Super aggressive patches each week and super communicative with their fans. This genre is going to be something to behold going forward.

I'm speechless right now...

Don’t get me wrong the game is fun from what I’ve played. It’s just felt a little rough. A couple of my Live friends play it regularly since release. I’m just really looking forward to trying PUBG for myself then deciding which game I will stick with. I like the concept and it’s fun with friends.

Its the most played game on X1 so the timing was perfect

I really want to get into this game but it runs like garbage on X1. That's Battle Royale. Haven't played the other mode.

Sorry, Halo 5 still calls to me, even though I have it (Fortnite BR) on every console and pc under my roof... but I will get to it eventually, sooner if the new h5 update feels weird

I didn’t like the goofy building stuff I saw in the demo video. I’ll wait for PUBG.

It definitely runs sluggish sometimes. Stop being a fan boy. Just because it’s very popular right now has nothing to do with how it runs.

A fanboy? If you entertain yourself by listening to the PUBG vs Fortnite debates, you'll see optimization is frequently listed as one of Fortnites strengths. Plus the XBox One video provided is very representative of how the game runs on console.

If a PC gamer said it ran like garbage on console, I could understand where he/she's coming from as they're used to 60+fps gaming. However if you're a console gamer and you think a fairly steady 30fps is garbage, I question why you're a console gamer to begin with.

Either way, both games are so unbelievably good. If anyone's bored I say download it for free and try to get a top 5 finish. You'll be hooked after that.

In my first couple matches I got a top 5 finish. I noticed when you get into a firefight it starts running like s*** sometimes. First night I played a buddy and I was in the top 6 and soon as we engaged this player it started running like s*** and would not let us kill them.

I’m glad you love the game, but stop acting like people are not allowed to critique the game. You sound like a fanboy in this thread. Calm down.
