Nice! Yeah, 7ft is not ideal for everybody, but it'll give you options for your space. Not to mention you can hide the camera if it telescopes down behind the TV or move it anywhere you want later.

Keep your eye out on PSVR deals for games too and I'll do the same for you. What games are you really interested in?

Ooops, actually I noticed the tripod I ordered was 64", which is about 5 foot, 4. So I won't be able to get to 7'.

How tall is your TV stand? If its on your stand behind your TV you should be good if its at least 2 off the ground.

- RE7
- Fallout 4 VR
- Moss
- SuperHot
- Farpoint
- The Inpatient
- Thumper
- Doom VR

p.s. Skyrim of course. I just started up another playthrough, lol. I guess I'm getting warmed up for the VR version. Followed Havar or whatever his name is. Stopped when I got to Riverwood.

Awesome list! There is a demo disc version 2 that just came out, lots of games on there that people had off their radar that are day 1 now. PSVR has a lot of gems. Farpoint is not worth without the AIM, but Doom(on your list) is also coming out so you might spend the money you used on this badass deal and get a controller.

I highly recommend also

Batman
Dirt Rally(if you like racing at all)
RE7(even if you don't like horror)
Metagon Rainfall

I would honestly start out with something with very little movement. I'm one of the VR owners that believes "VR legs" are real. lol

btw, do you have pro?

Yes, I do.

I'm starting with Skyrim. I guess that has some motion. Oh well. Jumping into VR with both feet. Hopefully I won't barf.

My TV stand is about a foot and a half off the ground. I'm not sure I can put the tripod on the TV stand, though; I'm not sure it would fit.

I just measured it, and the top of my TV is 50" off the ground, so 64" will clear it by over a foot. Hopefully that'll be enough to get a good angle. Otherwise I'll have to find something to prop it up. Or just position it to the side, I guess.

No matter the power of the PS4... It will keep having the best looking games over any other system this Gen...Objectively speaking

Great! I honestly think pro is more beneficial to psvr owners than the 4k side of it. Neither is a waste of course.

That's pretty bold to start out with Skyrim, the good thing is Bethesda seems to have included a ton of options and comfort settings. You might consider starting out with the DS4, but the Move controllers will give you the truest VR experience by far.

It's like you have to tell yourself that for some reason lol

Yeah, I'm going with the Move controllers. Might as well get used to them, and that seems to be the preferred way to play.

I was leaning toward the Switch, but then I got drawn in by Skyrim VR. It wasn't JUST Skyrim (lots of other games, too), but the idea of *being there* in Skyrim is really interesting. I want to experience that. I've spent 400+ hours in Skyrim and I'd love to see all those familiar locations in VR.

Oh, man, I can't wait to hike the mountain.... Throat of the World.

Nope... Just showing others that there is more to graphical capabilities than power

Dev talent is the most important factor

The X1X is a positive step for MS, no doubt about it.

I agree, Sony has good devs, but alot of the games have been boring for me recently, can't wait for more of them to shift to VR though.

If its like other games I played in 2d then VR, its going to be a crazy jump. I'm excited to hear your experience of it.

Not for $500 during this Gen IMO... It's not even a true 4k console

If Sony's games are boring for you, then what games other than VR are good to you?

The Lost Legacy is great... Sad that it bored you

$500 and is getting rave reviews all around the web. Even sony sites like neogaf are praising it to the moon. Even as a budget PC with "no exclusives", its a great value. Not everyone is wrong that likes it.

I couldn't even finish Lost Legacy. Not saying its not a decent game, just the same of formulas for me. The PSVR thread is filled with my opinions on the matter, 2d just doesn't excite me as a gamer much these days, most everything feels like a 2007 rehash.

Not saying they are wrong, but it's not what it was marketed to be as a true 4k console, and at $500 late into this Gen, I would never call that impressive... I call it a lie at a high cost for a console that is coming up short in Res, in fps, and where is all the 4k Texture work? I also believe a console should offer many new unique games to offer more value... It doesn't have that.

I see where you are coming from with you in love with VR, but VR hasn't done much in having many high-end games IMO. I do see a lot of demo like See-a-thons that have you just looking at things with many looking sub-par in quality graphics... With VR demanding at least 60fps from PS4 to be reprojected up to a faux 90fps/120fps with the PSVR box, it hurts the graphical capabilities of the games offered. I also question someone who hypes up something that dumbs down graphical output, but gives props to something else for just graphical output to the same old games while saying the PS4 games are boring.

[EDIT] I also should add... I very much dislike how PSVR makes games look blurry due to not offering true 1080p for each EYE

Eh, almost nothing is every truly what it says in marketing. No one believed 6TF was enough to reach true 4k, that was always a doubt from the beginning, but its really only advantage the system has to me going forward, the RAM will make more of a difference and already is in some cases(Shadow of War)

For you to "question" why I like X1X or PSVR is fine, but again, you're missing what makes VR great. It makes me doubt your real experience with VR. VR is a new experience, most people who play it aren't worried about visuals as much in my experience, not only that, there are examples that counter what you're saying. Dirt Rally, Farpoint, and Re7 all look great on pro especially.

Again, because Legacy and others look great doesn't make them fun. I know plenty of old 360 games I like more, and now I play with more higher quality. I'm not sure why that's difficult to understand. Visual fidelity carries more weight on a TV, fps does in VR. I'm covered in both regards.

I'm just pointing out... It's nothing like what Microsoft, and their fans hyped it to be. Too me that is disappointing, especially at $500 late into this Gen, and nothing you can say would change that.

Now about you questioning me trying out VR... So because I'm not so thrilled with it, you have to try your best to deny my feelings? Do you honestly think I'm the only one who's tried PSVR and dislikes it, plus what I see in the games offered?

Glad you are covered, but like your PSVR feeling about it being the best thing ever, Sony's PS4 SP games have proven... that just because they look great, they are damn fun as well. You are one of the few I have ever seen who calls them boring. I hear that kind of stuff from people like CrapGamer

I just don't remember anyone thinking that 4K across the board was even possible. I even did a thread here(a poll) and like 90% of people here didn't think it would happen. That's pretty substantial. But being a pro/X1X owner, the upgrade from X1X is evident from the first time I booted up a game. It's a definite difference in quality and the big name games that come out soon(RDR etc) I will want to play them on this machine for sure. Not saying I'll like them all.

It's not really that you don't love VR that makes me question your experience with it, its the sort of things you say. It's your verbiage and descriptions of it. Its the sort of things I read in YT comments that sets off a redflag "oh, there it is, they never even tried VR."

Could be wrong ;)

Sony ps4 games are just plain boring to me lately. That's not across the board, lately I'm saying. I'm sorry. It seems like I like them in the beginning and it trails off. I loved Horizon, but the same thing happened. Beautiful game, and it was fun. I just think there is a sort of samey feel to them(not just sony games, but they try and copy each so much), but at least sony has exclusives. I like that alot of others enjoy them. I need sony to survive so they can move more of their studios to VR, I think they're even getting tired of doing the same of thing, higher resolutions/fps.

Put me inside more stuff like this sony

Disagree about Sony games being boring. But I'm glad they support VR, too.

It's not that 4k across the board was expected... It's that it would at least offer a good amount of 4k gaming, and it in no way is. Not even Halo 5 & Quantum Break are true 4k with 4k texture work (4k assets), and most thought all of Microsoft's games would at least be true 4k on Xbox One X along with high end 4k assets... Nope!

You are wrong... For me VR doesn't offer many games that have deep gameplay, but it does have short demo like experiences to look around at stuff. Sorry if that bothers you, but it's how I really feel about most of PSVR's library when I look at each so-called game.

Now about Sony's boring samey feel... Are you a CrapGamer fan? Man, now THAT is something he would say, or maybe you are a Jamie Moran fan? You know, like just because it's 3rd person, and has trees in the game they are all the same?

Please, tell me what Sony game is like Horizon, or Bloodborne, or Ratchet & Clank, or Infamous, or TLoU... You think all those feel the same? I say, that is a very silly thing for you to say.

Sony will not be moving away from SP games just for your VR love, but keep that crazy hope alive. LOL Hell, didn't Sony shut down Guerrilla Cambridge who developed RIGS?

If anything, Sony will impliment a VR mode into some of their games, until it fails to be worth such efforts. High-end VR games from Sony will seldom come.

You are wishing for a miracle when wanting Sony, or any other publisher to forgo 60+ Million PS4 owners for less than 2 Million PSVR ones.

You really seem upset about MS, not that you were ever in the market. Gears 4, Forza, and Shadow of War already got the upgraded texture treatment. Those are huge AAA games. The system just came out. It's strange you mention Halo 5, DF just did a vid about stating how incredible it looked(its locked 60fps btw) You know more than DF technically of course. You're so worried about visuals with a regular ps4.

Everytime you bring up VR, you make me wonder more. There are all types of games, some are extremely deep, I just don't think you have any experience. Even in another thread you mention you had dozens of hours playing someone else's PSVR, that's just bizarre. You didn't like, but yet you supposedly spent all these hours playing it? What?
As for sony not moving away from SP games to VR, its already happening. London Studios has already said VR is their "main focus." We're getting 2 huge AAA exclusives within a month and 3 more by the spring.

The sony games feel samey to stuff we've had on ps3. It can't be denied. Infamous, Rachet, Bloodborne, we've played very similar games before, now with better visuals. Those are terrible examples on your part and I could assist your argument better. TLoU remaster is arguably the best ps4 game. Nothing imo has surpassed it, another ps3 game. Your attempt to draw me as biased is unraveling with almost no effort on my part. You're projecting.

Not upset at all, I'm just stating the facts that the Xbox One X is failing as a true 4k console... Halo 5, nor Quantum Break are true 4k. I never said I was worried about visuals with a regular PS4

I tried different PSVR games, and never said I played dozens of hours. I wanted to see if anything grabbed me, and I felt the games lacked good gameplay

London Studios is not proof that Sony is moving their top Dev studios to VR... You are crazy for thinking so

So silly... So you are comparing the same IPs to a prior Gen? Dude, you can say the same for every IP from one Gen to the next, and from every system that way. In no way is Horizon like other Sony games, and Bloodborne plays way different than Dark Souls, and Demon's Souls... I know you have no idea what you are talking about.

I'm not projecting anything... You say silly stuff.

No one thought X1X was true 4k console though, its an impossible setup you're using as a crutch. I just find it odd you're so upset over X1X 4k with a ps4 running 900-1080p games.

London Studios is moving their focus, they stated it days ago. I'm telling you the market is shifting. Skyrim and Doom will move tons of PSVRs. The attach rate for PSVR gamers is already extremely high, its profitable even at a few million units.

So bloodborne and Horizon, that's it? Ok, so you think they're just super unique huh? I don't think so at all. I think they have elements that modified from other games, but we're getting similar experiences. You know what, that's fine if you enjoy that stuff. Make it easy on them.

You want examples of real, unique experiences? Google Nintendo Switch games. I agree, pretty much everyone else is going down the road of same-ish.

No one thought the Xbox One X was a True 4k console? LOL You better tell Microsoft that. Oh, and tons of Xbox fans on Twitter like Timdog... TRUE 4k with 4k assets is all they hyped about. Hell, many were hyping 4k @ 60fps for all it's games. These are the facts that you keep denying... You can like & defend lies all you want, but to think I'm upset about seeing through the BS is funny.

Now about London Studios... Do you know anything about them? They are in no way one of Sony's AAA devs. In fact, they are a team who has been supporting Sony's MOVE/PsEYE efforts, so PSVR is their next related add-on to make things for. So no, they didn't really Move their efforts.

Funny, you say that's it, and how you don't think they are unique, then use other games to make some silly point... You know what, many PSVR games take from each other as well... You must be making it easy on Sony. smh

So now Nintendo games are unique because they can be played with a Tablet on the go? Tell me, what makes Mario/Zelda so unique as 3rd person games that no other games can do? I see them as the same IP, but very high quality SP gameplay with a controller. No need for move controls, or a screen plastered to your face. Hell, isn't the Switch proof that you don't need add-ons, nor powerful hardware to offer high quality games? So why can't Sony offer that with their games with PS4 compared to the Xbox One X?

Yeah, you say silly stuff

Other people's posts does not stop you, and do you not see a PS4 discussion in those posts?

Btw... It's not a PS4 Vs. Xbox discussion.

No, he's right. Let's keep the console war stuff out of here. It's fine to talk about PS games and PSVR, but save discussion of Xbox games/consoles for another thread. Thank you.

Sony has trademarked "Syphon Filter" in Europe. It could be nothing, who knows. It might be a PS2 on PS4 conversion. Maybe they're just renewing a trademark. A remaster would be awesome. But it might be nothing at all.

Cool old commercial:

It is really, now that I look back at how it started:

It wasn't a joke like I thought, or hoped. It was bait. Took it to PM and out of here.

Why would it be a joke? So no, thinking Sony has the best looking games, and will continue to have the best looking games is not bait at all... It's actually how I feel, and you took issue with it = That says a lot about you.
