I have never liked the X1 dash but at least it continues to get better unlike the 360 which just kept getting worse after starting with the great blades dash.
They probably don't need to display cover boxes in the store the size of the Empire State Building. Those have to load from the internet each time you go in.I'm not a fan of the UI. Honestly, I don't think the layout is terrible, its just slow. Doesn't seem any faster than my XB1. At least the games look incredible.
Why not just pin what you are using most? Then it's just a matter of pulling RT.I'm not a fan of the current UI. Of course I've learned to use it but it still irritates me every day. I just want Spotify, One Guide, and then the top couple games I'm playing at the moment at the top. It always feels like I'm jumping around to find my games, and having to go to the "games" list each time which feels wrong (probably I'm just juggling too many active games right now).
For me, UI is about KISS - keep it simple stoopid. This feels like it is trying to be too clever.

Pins my friend. Pins. You never have to leave the home page. First line is current game playing. Go down one to Pins, and boom...every game or app you want. I have a habit of using the flyout guide now and using the pins there because I am rarely on the actual dashboard. I always have a game playing, so the flyout guide, which oddly enough is like the 360 now, gets me EVERYTHING, fast.I'm not a fan of the current UI. just playing through Horizon on my Pro, yes that lazy upgrade world looks so...... erm..... lazy.I have said before the Playstation 4 Pro is a lazy upgrade.
could you let me know what MS is chasing because Sony have certainly got gaming and VR sowed up.Xbox/Playstation chasing two different things at this point.
I just wanted to post that I was wrong. I think I said that the Xbox One X would drop out of the Amazon top 100 after Christmas. Surprisingly, it's at #52 right now. One of the Xbox One S consoles is at 37. Another is at 73. Those consoles were not even to be found in the top 100 early on last year. I know part of it is multiple sku's, but looks like they are doing well or they have less sku's.
Xbox One X will hopefully see a price drop this fall to keep it in the top 100 during the holidays.

The UI is fine imo. It's just frustrating to use because of the sluggishness.
Finding stuff is never an issue. It's navigating the laggy pages that is cumbersome.
Honestly it feels like Web TV or something.
I love ya TD with that *FINALLY* new avatar!Ya, mine is slow lately but i attribute that to the holidays. Can't remember it being like this on the One S months ago. Now i have the mighty X and we're back to the stone age with the OG Xbox One. How does that work?
All exaggeration aside. I'm more than happy with my Xbox One X. Can't wait to get a 4K TV to really get the most out of it. Mine is now completely quiet after giving me an initial scare and my achievements are unlocking again after a hard reset.
They have it today but there is no reason why that has to be the case going forward. Microsoft just needs to change their first party approach somewhat.
This thread reveals people don't know how to use the Xbox dash. I never understood the hate in the past but now I get it. Microsoft should consider putting tips on the home page regarding features a gamer hasn't used yet.
People want games in a straight line like they are on the Playstation dash. You are a right trigger click away from something better. The pins are much better overall than a straight line of games and apps. Because sometimes instead of scrolling right 11 times, I can hit right once and down once. All your pins are available to you within any game. You can see a lot more things at one time. No matter what version of the dash Microsoft has gone with, I've used pins. It's pretty simple.
There's no lag scrolling through your pins.
Hmmmm..?
I have a bit of a dilemma. I have like $76 credit on Xbox store and I can't decide what to buy.
There are 4 games that I really want. Forza 7, The Witcher 3 Complete, AC Origins and Forza Horizon 3.
I had a chance to get a bundle with both forza games fo $65 but i dragged my feet and that sale is over. I also have GT Sport. So i thought 3 racing games would be overkill.
I have Witcher 3 on Pro, but I don't have the dlc expansions. Origins looks beautiful. But I haven't been a huge fan of the series. But this one does look good. I love the Egyptian setting.
I could wait for a sale and try to get a couple of games. But I've also been wanting Oblivion and The Orange Box. Decisions..........
