Wonder Woman

It just surpassed Frozen's domestic gross today and is on its way to dethrone Sam Raimi's Spider-Man as the highest grossing superhero origin movie ever sometime next week.

Cosplayers from Japanese Wonder Woman Premier on August 8th.

Theater Chain Could Be Prosecuted For ‘Women Only’ WONDER WOMAN Screenings
http://www.screengeek.net/2017/08/1...rosecuted-wonder-woman-women-only-screenings/

I have no problem with these events at all but I can see why it upset some people. They could have gone with "Girls Night Out" but instead they marketed it as a "Women Only" trying to push that entitlement flavor and socio-political statement which many people have a problem with.

Woman directing a movie about a strong woman who saves the world? Oscar confirmed. I'm sure they can't wait to virtue signal. The only thing that could beat this next year is Cuba Gooding Jr. playing a homeless, immigrant, r******d guy who solves the global warming crisis.

Officially the highest domestic grossing superhero origin movie today and $800 millions worldwide and still hasn't opened in Japan yet.

Feel they left the Japanese release way too late to have much impact

$635,000 more to surpass Civil War's domestic gross. $1,565,000 more to pass Iron Man 3. Come on, WW!!!

It doesn't matter really. But it's still cool that her first solo movie is going to beat Caps' and Iron Man's third.

WB is pushing Wonder Woman for Oscar nominations in 15 categories:

Best Picture
Best Director
Best Adapted Screenplay
Best Actress
Best Supporting Actress
Best Supporting Actor
Best Cinematography
Best Production Design
Best Film Editing
Best Costume Design
Best Visual Effects
Best Sound Mixing
Best Sound Editing
Best Makeup and Hairstyling
Best Original Score

I'm no expert but I think only Costume Design and Original Score have a shot. I was very impressed. Maybe Best Supporting Actor will also have a shot. Chris Pine's performance was amazing through out the movie, especially in the scene where he was trying to convince Diana on that tower. That was powerful. He is definitely way "above average".

I could see Hollywood going for a movie like this, this year (for obvious reasons).

Saw this yesterday. I liked it for the most part. But I did not like the casting of Ares.
