I need to play it again. Have it on PC and it looked decent enough not even maxed out, but now with my new PC I should be able to max it out. One of the better looking games lately.

Cool. She seems like a nice person. Left home at 16 to move to another country. She said when playing Senua, she used some of her history to help her. I wonder if she had some trouble, growing up. She seems pretty fun and playful, so maybe not, but people can cover that stuff with playfulness, too, so who knows. None of my business, I suppose.

She sure took some risks. I can't imagine acting some of those scenes in front of your colleagues, with no experience. Some of those scenes are emotionally very raw. That must've been hard.

At times, when playing the game, I can tell she's an amateur rather than an experienced actress, but most of the time, she's very convincing. I'm glad she's found some success. She did a good job and a lot of hard work.

You can see where Senua got those big blue eyes from too. Lol

I always wondered how Ninja Theory comes up with these interesting looking female characters. I may have to hunt down info on the models used in Heavenly Sword now.

I was surprised to learn they did Enslaved. I tried that but didn't like the style of combat enough to hang with it. Incidentally, Enslaved was the game that sidelined Horizon Zero Dawn's concept for a while. Guerrilla heard NT was making a game with a lot of the same features that Horizon would have (e.g, post-apocalyptic setting, robots, etc.), and they didn't want to make a game that would be so similar, so they put the Horizon idea on the shelf for a while.

Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice is seemingly coming to Xbox One

[confirmed: see below]

Ninja Theory's brilliant dark fantasy action game Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice is making the jump to Xbox One, according to two separate ratings board listings.

Both the Australian Classification board and Taiwan Game Software Rating board have listed the critically acclaimed title for Microsoft's flagship console, indicating a release isn't far off. Considering the fact Hellblade was never actually confirmed as a PS4 and PC exclusive, it probably shouldn't be too surprising to hear it's apparently making the jump.

Nothing official has been confirmed yet, although ratings boards have a long history of outing games prior to any formal announcement, so we'd remain cautiously optimistic for now.

I highly recommend this. One of the best games I played in 2017.

See this thread for info and impressions:

Original trailer:

Just the type of game needed. Haven't played it or read much into it but heard the theme is mental illness. My kind of game. I can hear voices in my head and so can my character?

Phil seems to be focused on keeping a tight leash on controversial issues in Xbox games. Good to see he and the team wanted this game. More to come hopefully. I'm liking the new direction.

I never had ANY doubt.

DIdn't realize this wasn't on the Xbox. Hopefully it does eventually because it is quite amazing. Just do yourself the favor and play it with headphones though. The binaural audio is worth it.

Yes, headphones are mandatory, because of the binaural audio and "voices."

Accolades trailer. Heartbreaking.

I haven't finished it yet but it is a very unique experience, based on the time I have spent with it I'd recommend it to others so if it does come to Xbox it's worth picking up.

The woman who played Senua did a hell of a job. She's already won a award or two.

Crazy that she was just a regular Ninja Theory employee. It was her first time ever doing mocap.

I have a pretty good sound system. I don't like headphones. Is it still a good experience?

It probably depends on your system. If you've got a good surround sound setup, you'll probably be fine. You might lose a little of the immediacy of the voices, but you should be okay. If you've got a two-channel stereo or a sound bar, though, I think you'll be missing out.

Super good surround sound. Sounds like I'm good to go. Thanks.

I hope it gets some love from Xbox fans.

It'll have enhancements on the X:

"Of course, Hellblade on Microsoft's console will feature enhancements that can be leveraged by the Xbox One X, including HDR. "Players [have] the choice of three enhanced modes to select from," Ninja Theory explains. "Enhanced Visuals mode offers extra FX and visual quality throughout the experience, High Framerate mode runs the game at 60 frames per second, and High Resolution mode runs the game with dynamic resolutions up to 4K."

Iirc, the Pro version had those last two modes, High Framerate and High Resolution. I always chose High Resolution, because the visuals are so good, and the framerate didn't suffer much. Xbox One X owners are lucky to have the Enhanced Visuals mode. I'd go with that, if I were you. The Pro version did not support HDR, so that's a nice bonus for Xbox owners.

You can get all the achievements in one playthrough, if they're the same as the trophies on Playstation. Just find all the lorestones as you progress.

Word of advice/warning. In the Playstation version, there is no replay chapter option. I missed a couple of lorestones and had to play through a second time. The replay factor is not high, given its extreme linearity.

I actually enjoyed it more the second time through.

Depends for me. A game like Hellblade was more enjoyable for me the first playthrough because I enjoy a journey where I don't know exactly what to do and what to expect gameplay and story wise.

Also didn't help I immediately replayed it to get the platinum trophy.

I only go after the platinum if I really enjoyed a game.
