I still have Star Wars KOTOR 2 on disc = WIN!
Yes, you could play the disc on the 360 in all of it's 4:3 glory! (if there ever was a game that needed widescreen!). The problem with the b/c today is that technically, you are not running it "as is" directly off the disc like the 360 b/c with OG Xbox...there is a downloadable version of the game that has been recompiled or some such that requires them to revisit licensing. Sucks but we probably won't see several older games as a result.Wasn’t there a rerelease on 360 or support via bc then?
so this may be a dumb question. will the xbox stuff play on the normal xbox one or just the one X?
wait I worded that dumb they play but will they look better then they do now?
Yes, games like RDR look a bit better on the standard Xbox One. For instance, playing Far Cry 3 on the One now and it's "on par" with the 360 version graphically but maintains a steadier framerate which is pretty common among b/c titles. However, the upscale to native 4K for games like RDR on the One X is a big jump. So I wouldn't revisit a game on the standard Xbox One that I already beat per se but some of these games enhanced for the One X look close to as good as a full remaster and that might be a good reason to revisit. That said, I'm having fun revisiting games I missed from last gen on both the standard Xbox One and the One X whether enhanced or not. Over the past year, I've played as many 360 games as One games. So many great/good games I missed from last gen! As I said, playing Far Cry 3 right now and once you get going...great game (this is from somebody that disliked Far Cry 2).so this may be a dumb question. will the xbox stuff play on the normal xbox one or just the one X?

Star Wars Force unleashed *shudder* (one of the worst looking games from last gen with some pretty terrible level design IMO) *runs to check out in 4K*
I've been thinking that, also. I've told a former Xbox PS4 gamer or two about BC with the previous generation's games, and they were really excited about that feature, not knowing that Xbox even had that capability.I just realized, the BC strategy is a great way to win over Xbox gamers who've jumped ship this gen to the PS4. Many of them were 360 owners last gen, and some were original Xbox owners. If they jumped from Xbox to PS4, they don't have access to their old Xbox exclusive games.
I'm in that camp myself, and although previous BC announcements haven't moved the needle much for me, when I heard that Morrowind and Jade Empire (two of my favorite games of that generation) were getting the BC treatment, that turned my head. I could see maybe picking up a discounted Xbox One down the road, just to play old games ... when I run out of current-gen games to play, that is.
I know the main point of BC is to keep Xbox gamers happy. It just occurred to me that it's also a good way to win back previous Xbox owners who jumped ship this generation. They can get access to the games that originally made them a fan of the Xbox.

I've also been thinking about how even if they promised BC early on, Xbox One might not have had such a slow start in the first place. Then again, I believe all of that is what got them to be the company they have become. Now they just need to deliver on a few solid exclusives.
The "Sony" forums I frequent are super excited about X1X BC, its a massive change in the dynamic I've noticed, especially since this last announcement of games.
The only real drawback to the OGBC games is the lack of online service
lol, yeah, I'd love to hop back on XBL for another round of RTCW. Beach Invasion!
