I think it is dead. At some point so much time goes by that it stops being worth it to continue it. Its hard to picture Alan Wake 2 coming out 10-15 years after the first.

It's not that hard to picture, but they would have had to start on it right when Alan Wake first wrapped production to meet such an ambitious schedule. ;)

I'm curious to see what they do. I want them to do more in the AW universe, but I also loved QB and imagine that whatever they come up with next will be pretty interesting as well. Kick ass, it's what they do.

“Well, the developer… the developer has to want to make the game,” he eventually finished as a PR minder stepped in to end the interview.

So, the ball's in Remedy's court. Who are busy with whatever multiplayer experience they're currently working on.

Translation: They can make it but we aren't footing the bill

We know Sam Lake wanted to do it before doing Quantum Break.

I think they're working on stuff in a new direction anyway, so it might not even be just a matter of funding.

I still think at some point, it's going to all come together in Quantum Wake. Ripples in time, ripples in the lake / ocean, ripples in everyone's pants when it's announced.

When is Quantum Break going to go on sale. I need to buy it for around $30 so I can add it to the list of games I need to start playing and never will. I've owned Shadow of Mordor for close to a year now...

Nothing it was their April fools video about entering the coffee market

Damnit all, Microsoft! Buy Remedy!!! Dat s*** go together like Starsky and Hutch. Jergens, porn hub and ultra soft Kleenex with Aloe Vera for sensitive skin!!

I swear, if Sony buys Remedy instead, I'm going 100% PlayStation for the rest of my days.

It would be typical of Microsoft to make the same mistake they made with Bioware. I don't know how long they're going to sit on their hands. Enough with the it's not the right time bs..just do it already!

All of us except Microsoft apparently. I can just picture a boardroom meeting there:

Guy: Sir, the fans want a narrative driven game. How about Alan Wake 2?

CEO: Yeah, that sounds great but it won't sell like Halo, Gears, or Forza so no.

Guy: Okay, but that's what the fans are ask...

CEO: No. We don't pay you to think. Best of luck in your future endeavors.

Fans might want it but it still wouldn't sell and then it would be considered a failure.

Man, Alan Wake is so underrated. I popped it in the other night and got sucked in immediately. I love the style and atmosphere. The fog, the lighting, the Episodic angle, the music, the tension. So good. I just don't get when people dog it, honestly.

I never heard a single person dog Alan Wake. But you forgot another good part.....Barry's humor.

Oh, I remember plenty. Boring, repetitive, poor animation, bad controls. All things I disagree with aside from the abysmal facial animations.

I couldn't get through Alan Wake myself. I didn't like the combat.

I don't know if that counts as dogging the game, though. Just didn't do it for me, that's all.

It's because the story and execution of it's story elements made the game great.

Remember this part, with agent Nightingale?

Or the way that episode 2 ended with that eerie reveal followed by the music.

I think Alan Wake's story is where it truly shines. I'm playing Ryse: Son of Rome and it kind of reminded me of Alan Wake in that the gameplay might be simple or repetitive but the story and visuals were strong enough to make it something special.

I thought the core gameplay loop was fun, but yeah, the story and presentation are top notch to this day. All the elements of sound and visuals are spot on.
