I haven't gotten far in the game yet (work), but I had some dark thoughts. What if I played a murderer? At night, go into homes and kill some NPCs.

I haven't study their behavior. Do they go to bed, have routines, etc.

Has anyone seen any posts about this type of play style?
Right here officers, this is the poster you should keep an eye on.

Came across a camp and was petting two dogs. Their owner turned out to be a prick so I gave him a good beat down. His dogs attacked me and I had to put them down with my shotty.
Feels bad man... feels bad.

What cameras do you guys use? I play first person with close 3rd person while riding.
I use all of the non-first person cameras depending on how cinematic I want it to be :)

I even bust out the cinematic camera while on foot from time to time.

I tend to prefer to pull the camera back while riding, but closer in town. I love the options, regardless...

I bought the hard cover edition strategy guide yesterday and there is a s*** ton of hidden stats and intricacies in this game.
There are a lot of vids and articles making false claims about which are the best horses for example. Study the stats carefully and know there are hidden stats as well. Certain breeds are better than others but you'll never really know a horses full potential till he's fully bonded with you.

A few hints:
Your horse can become overweight as well as malnourished. 50/100 is ideal weight. This effects speed, handling and other stats.
Feed, calm, pat and brush your horse regularly. Doing things a bunch of times at once has little effect.
Call your horse repeatedly to get it to come faster.
The more you call it the more it's range increases over time.
You can cut horses free from wagons and mount them.

Fun fact: It takes 9 hours of play time to grow your hair and beard out fully.

Also, I came across some random dude in prison clothes out in the wilderness last night. He hollers at me for help, so I head over. The dude wants me to shoot his chains off for him. I threw him on the back of my horse and rode him into Valentine straight to the Sheriff. Sheriff laughs at the guy as I put him in the cell, then pays me eight dollars. This game is awesome.

I had something similar happen to me. He told me where to find some loot at a local farm if I shoot his chains.
With my supreme aiming I ended up shooting his leg instead. He cursed me said I was insane and limped off.

I tried.

He turns up again anyway and he’ll give you that first tip again. I did something similar. I shot the chain but then accidentally threatened him while he was giving me the tip and he ran off.

I couldn’t find my horse, so I grabbed another. Some s*** stain narced on me. I jumped off the horse hoping nothing would happen but I was listed as wanted and they killed me even though I didn’t take it :(

I've been reported for cruelty to animals for skinning a turkey on the road.

I never use the first person camera, I like using the closest camera when riding out in the open but if I'm in the city or forest area I pull it back so I can see what's coming in front of me, it's too easy to miss a person walking in front of you with the closest angle and that causes all kinds of problems lol. I'm just not a fan of the first person view in the Rockstar games, I always like 3rd person best anyway though so it's just a personal preference thing.

So umm... theres a scenario in the game you may want to avoid.
Let's just say be very careful in the bayou area to the south east unless you want to fall victim to some Deliverance type sh*t. :really::really::really::surprise:

I think i ran into that scenario. That whole bayou area is screwed up.

I've stopped doing missions the past day or so and just spent time off the beaten path. There's so much stuff to see and do. I'm afraid to say what though cause I don't want to ruin any of your experience.

I also want to stress the importance of using that stuff that hides your scent. Especially while hunting animals that usually hunt you.

Game of this gen with ease

I don't know about that, it's the best open world game but I'd still put God of War above it so far, I haven't finish this though yet so we'll see. I'd put it top 3 for sure and I could still put it at the top of my list once I've finished it.

I keep reading how this game keeps getting better and better as you progress.

So I had to help a certain someone escape prison, and I didn't want to kill any lawmen, but they were shooting at us, so I shot them all in the legs. Sure enough, I didn't get any bad guy morality hit, and they concentrated almost all their fire on the other guy. Pretty cool.

I also noticed it say wanted for murder after I accidentally killed one (I restarted after that so I wouldn't kill him) and they were definitely gunning for me harder. I was still wanted, but I wonder if the bounty would be higher.

Just in case anyone wants to know. If you, say hypothetically, jump on a train and methodically kill everyone on it as you move to the front of the train, you can drive said train. Hypothetically of course...

By the way, I came across a body hanging in a tree down in the bayou and hopped of my horse to investigate. Three extremely fast and creepy dudes ambushed me. They knifed me faster than I could draw them down. It was a major WTF moment for me.
