The Xbox Onesie

This poll pretty much counters the argument I keep seeing on Union that xbox fans here think the scorpio will be godlike, pretty reasonable results.

I went with "mostly" because it will be the easiest upgrade. Take the X1 game and scale up. Done. Not saying that's how I want it, but I think the low hanging fruit will be the most common. If you count indies, it would probably be all they do. That alone will move the needle to "most".

4K for all except Dread Rising, Assassins Creed, and all major games that push open world design. The games are just too intensive. CPU limited.

All ms games 4k. For 3rd party games; who knows, they are allowed to do what they like. And that's fine with me

Will be interesting if Battlefront 2 hits 4K considering its a mostly 60fps game. That'll be a near full generational leap in resolution for people coming from 720p Xbox one BF1 in resolution.

Should do. Pro does bf1 at over 1600p.

Man, I really hope MS can get these games to amazing looking status. As much as people say "graphics don't matter", there seem to be a LOT of people getting massively hyped for graphics. Just look at GTS threads on GAF with all the gifs. Look at the success of Drive Club, which is just not very good at all, but is very pretty.

I will never say graphics aren't important. They do make games more playable and enjoyable. When I get Forza 7 in 4k, I will probably have to change shorts on a regular basis...

Didn't the DC studio close down though?

Maybe people are keeping their expectations in check after the last time MS hyped their console before release and under delivered. I think it's a handful of posters here that worship everything Microsoft that actually believe this console will be "godlike".

I'm keeping my expectations low and hoping to be amazed in the end.

Doubtful. Past couple of gens we were supposed to get 720p or 1080p and it never happens. But, at least with the Pro we're seeing devs giving people options so hopefully we get that on the Scorpio as well. Stick with 1080p but gets some more bells and whistles for go 4k and lose some graphical stuff.

I am very interested to see if I will prefer something like 1080p with bells, or 4k. What I really like, though, is the fact that it's really not XBone settings at 4k, because they are including "4k" assets like texture quality along with the 16x AF thing. That alone will boost the hell out of the graphics.

That option is for the ps4 pro because of the limitation of the ram.

There's a good chance the CPU will hold the Scorpio back from being a true beast. Might be the worst bottleneck since the PS3's Cell processor. All this talk about it being the easiest console ever to develop for won't really do devs any favors if the CPU doesn't get the job done.

I mean, do we really think they haven't accounted for that? Hence the customization?

If 900p and 1080p are easy should mean a lot of games wont have much issue. Most of the 720p games like Dead Rising 3, CoD Ghosts, Killer Instinct, Battlefield 4 and Watchdogs moved to 900p for the sequels

There will likely be a handful of notable games at launch that aren't that cause high drama. I think a large percentage of games in the first 6 months or so will be native. Less and less as time goes on, and devs decide to put the power into other things.

When it comes to PC gaming I've always stuck with the highest resolution possible and then slowly got rid of settings to hit 60fps. I usually get rid of stuff like ambient occlusion or insane AA settings.

You get rid of ambient occlusion!? That's probably one of the most important effects for making games look better! I couldn't do that!

Does it matter?
It does. Not from a gameplay perspective, but It was much appreciated when KI upped the resolution. Like it or not, a clean Image does wonders. MS needs it if for nothing more than to remove the easy target for the very aggressive detractors that flock to any MS exclusive footage. It's good for all kinds of images!

I can't wait for the 4k onslaught. Hell, even for movies, 4k just makes things look amazing. 1080p is like, sooooo last half-gen!
