Photoshop =/= making a 3d model work in every situation presented.

And cmon, the peebee edit is nearly as bad as people complaining about faith from mirrors edge. same s***, photoshop to make them more attractive. Is every woman you know a bombshell? female characters can be designed without needing to turn people on.

this kind of bs runs me up a wall
I have a rare condition that doesn't allow me to see people less hot than an 8, so... :p

Agreed. And the PeeBee edit wouldn't really match her personality. Plus IMO, in game she's much prettier than the original shot of her.

I'm still not tremendously far in, but I have to say that having Drack and Peebee together for a while was quite entertaining. I'm actually giving short shrift right now to Vetra and Liam because I've had loyalty mission stuff going on recently with Cora and some mandatory missions with Jaal, so they've mixed in and it's been good too.

Drack and PeeBee have the best interactions. A close second is PeeBee and Cora going back and forth.

This game looks good as an EA Access title. I'll wait till I'd say about Q1 2018 for this game to be a freebie. Most EA Access games come out 9-12 months after launch.

Game has been getting reviews in the mid-70s, whereas ME 1 - ME 3 got about 90% or so each. There's definitely more than just some bad animations and zombie eyeballs dragging the game down 15 pts.

On the plus side, by the time the game comes to EA Access, it'll probably be patched a few times and have free DLC too.

Normally I'd agree with you. However I got a feeling that EA is going to hold off on adding it to access for a while. Bioware is probably going to drag the story dlc for the game out for at least another calendar year so I'd expect it to hit access mid Q2 2018 to early Q3.

So I just finished the game, 84%, level 58 at around 60 hours... And I feel really proud after that ending. It makes you feel warm, in the cockles of your heart. Maybe the below the cockles. Maybe in the sub-cockle area. Maybe in liver. Maybe in the kidneys. Maybe even in the colon. I don't know.

Anywho, 2 things to make sure you do.

READ THE EMAILS! Half of the storyline is delivered via the emails, especially towards the end. People have been saying that Bioware haven't had the knack for delivering encompassing worlds for awhile now, and I can pretty safely assume that those people don't read what's put on offer. The lore becomes so much more engrossing when you dive into the codex as well.

Be careful who you f***! I planned on shacking up with Gil, but I was courting everyone at the same time. I accidently triggered the scene that locked me into a relationship with one of the characters I didn't want. Anywho, I got to see some giant blue nipples.

And after it's all finished, I loved the game. It's a fully realised RPG, with worlds and narratives that are directly influenced by your choices. And THAT is the biggest part of what an RPG is.

You play a role of your choosing, and you should feel like the worlds responds to your choices. Kudos Bioware.

(Also, don't get me started on Zelda and Final Fantasy being called an RPG blah blah, they're not. The End.)

It's a good mix of the first 3 games but a part of me is sad we probably won't return to the milky way in this series due to 3s ending.

But at the same time new worlds and races is probably better.

Also prefer the conversation wheel in this rather than Paragon and Renegade options.

I really wish the Quarians were involved in this story. It was a massive gaping hole for me the entire way through. And I know it was deliberate, but with them saying this won't be a trilogy, I hate that they committed another genocide if a sequel wont get made.

Anyway, to people that don't have the game yet, don't let the facial faux pas set you off. You're doing yourself a disservice from not enjoying an engrossing story that is SO much more than a few facial animations.

This is my favourite Mass Effect.

I thought the combat was fantastic. Alot better than the first three.

A line in a side quest bugged me when a character mentioned "lungs like a banshee"

Simply cause they didn't exist when project Andromeda launched.

Banshee's didn't exist? How about the mythical creature that the Banshee from ME3 got it's name from? Also known for screaming ;)

That's the one but they don't exist till 3 and this lot had already left the milky way before that.

I'm taking the line as a nod to them

Finished the main story and really enjoyed the game.

Starts slow but once you set up the first settlement it's pure ME goodness.

I still can't get into this game, it just seems so average. The graphics are ok but not great, the combat is ok but not great, the story so far hasn't really grabbed me and I just find myself bored with it. I really liked the last dragon age so I gave this a shot but I just don't seem to be able to find anything redeeming about it. I'm glad the rest of you are enjoying it though :)

How far into it are you? Story didnt open up for me til after you set up the first settlement.

And combat depends on what you level up and which weapons you develop.

By the end of it I was a soldier with bad ass biotics and a shotgun that destroyed everything in my path.

Playing on hard helps. And planing what biotics your teammates have come in handy.

I wish I had of gotten some powers that cut through armour early on.

They really need to work on their inventory systems though. The weapons and armour felt almost irrelevant when it's a pain in the arse to organise it.

If it's not an assault rifle, sniper or shot gun it's not staying in my inventory.

Lol I didn't equip a shotgun/sniper rifle until the last 10 hours or so.
You missed out so. Heat seeking explosive plasma rounds on the assault shotgun makes one of the best guns in the game hands down.

I've set up a few settlements, in the story I'm on a planet where touching the water will kill you pretty quick and I'm looking around for dead bodies. I agree with you on the weapons, I only keep assault rifles, sniper rifles and shotguns too.

What's this assault rifle and shotgun crap? I'm rocking two different snipers and a pistol because a third sniper would be too heavy. #FirstWorldOrSecondWorldOrGoldenWorldProblems.

Finished the main story with 87 hours on the clock.....really enjoyed the whole game but my god the last 3rd was full of game breaking bugs....It crashed loads for me (One S).

Leaving 2nd play through for Scorpio and a few updates to be installed. Not played 1 minute of Multiplayer either. All in all 4/5 for me....loved it!

What a great few months for RPGs -- Zelda, Horizon Zero Dawn, Persona 5, Nier Automata, and Mass Effect Andromeda. A great selection for an RPG nut like me.

Who would've thought Mass Effect would've been the dud of the bunch -- that all the others would be widely acclaimed as great games, and Mass Effect would be the disappointment? It sure surprised me. Six months ago, it was my most anticipated game of the coming year. Now I'm like, "Eh, I'll get to it when I have time, after a price drop." All the bad press has really dampened my enthusiasm. I know some people like it, but the general reception has been pretty middling. 74 on metacritic, I believe? That's not good for a title of this caliber. They f*cked something up. I feel like spending my time and money on more creative and well-realized titles.

I can say I've enjoyed it immensely to date, and more importantly how the f*** are you, good sir?

I'm f*cking good, man, thanks. I enjoyed my time off, but I think I'll sit and stay a while. I don't plan to be much of a moderator anymore, though. I think that was part of what made me want to get away -- I felt like I had to set a good example, not be mean to the Xbots, phrase everything in a fair and balanced way, etc.. I decided to say f*ck all that. Hopefully that will help me to enjoy my time here more. The second main factor was listening to all the MS fanboyism and anti-Sony stuff around here; that was aggravating, and it interfered with my ability to enjoy my gaming. I'm still a PS guy in an Xbox forum, so we'll see how long I'll last.

But it's fun to be back after 8 months and engage in the back-and-forth again. I looked around for other forums, and although I enjoy GAF -- find it very informative, full of discussion about games I'm interested in, etc. -- having conversations over there is really not possible. Plus, a lot of the people are very reactive and emotional about SJW type stuff, and people constantly take you out of context because they don't know you. I tried to find a PS-focused forum, but surprisingly, there really isn't a healthy one around (at least none that I could find).

So I drifted back here. Meant to just post about how great Horizon was, but got drawn in. Like I've said before, this (TXB/Union) has been my internet home for 17 years, so I'm not going to just up and leave permanently. I may need to take breaks to preserve what little mental health I have remaining, but I'll never leave for good.
