What movies have you seen recently?

Atomic Blonde - 5/10.

Predictable, cliche action movie that fails to excel where similar movies like Jhon Wick & Taken suceeded, action scenes. Charlize Theron is hardly new to action scenes and so it surprised me how robotic she was in this. Alot of the scenes lack the fluidity needed to cconvince she is thiis highly trained handd to hand combat agent.

Gave it a 5 for two reasons, 1.) Mcavoy is decent. 2.) Charlize lesbo scene:hehe:

You had me at Charlize lesbo scene. Will watch.

War for the Planet of Apes - Very good. Best of the 3 so far. Although, is it just me or is the title misleading? Anywho, Very good movie. My only real issue would have to be Woody's character, he kept saying "learn from history" and yet made the same mistakes many in history made. I just found that a little eyeroll worthy.

To the Bone: pretty good. I love Lilly Collins, and she really commited to the role. I will refrain on my personal opinion on binge/purging though, since it seems to get me in trouble.

re-watched Guardians of the Galaxy 2, and it was better than I remember. The jokes are pretty nutty.
when i first watched it i thought it was as good as 1st one, seemed harsh when people said it wasnt, maybe people had higher expectations

I would disagree. It was better on the comedy front but worse on the story front, and for me the story is the greater variable of the two.

Watching The Departed right now after seeing it in theatre the first time.
Fuc I forgot how intense this movie is. Brilliant.
Yeah it is. I watched it on Thursday and it still rocks. Still love that final shot of the State house and rat in the window.

Just saw that new Batman & Harley Quinn movie. So cute and fun. What an enjoyable throwback to old school Batman. Bruce Timm fans will really enjoy just seeing all the art and animation, but the dialogue is a bit cheesy, although it's done purposefully and tongue in cheek. There's even a little tribute here and there to the Adam West era of Batman. Really fun flick, highly recommended.

IT
Awesome adaptation, the cast of kids were perfect. Penniwise was creepy, great film. Hope they nail the casting for chapter 2 like they did for this one. Didn't know the kid who plays Mike in Stranger Things was cast as Richie, he had the best lines.

It - 7.4 Just came back from seeing "It", The cinema had placed balloons up @ the IMAX theater room entrance and a 3D glow in the dark cutout in the dark hall with the clown's face..it's nice to see them go the extra mile to make something a creepy horror experience.

I hadn't seen the original so I didn't know what to expect. For me it was just one of those movies that had that iconic cover at the video rental shop that creeped me out as a kid, always sitting next to the Child's Play's and Hellraiser videos.

It
was fun..the movie just drags on a bit. Not the scariest horror for fanatics but it does have some wtf moments for everyone. The movie wasn't in 3D which was weird because a couple of parts were defintitely intended for 3D IMAX screenings.

Baby Driver 7/10

Some great scenes - was more like a music video (or iPod commercial) than a feature film. It's basically La La Land with violence. Makes me want to watch Ryan Gosling's Driver now (a far superior movie).

Drive

I can see how someone would say it's like a music video. It's highly choreographed to the score/music. I liked that though. It gave it style.

Ghost in a Shell - Great
Never watched the anime. I don't watch anime. Having said that, I have no comparison I can offer in that regard compared to this live action one. What I can say is, Ghost in the Shell was great. I enjoyed it all of the way through.

IT - Meh. Same olld crap. The 2 creepiest scenes have no IT in them, they are Clarke Kent & Lane and Beverly & Dad first scene.

Mother! - WTF did I just watch?

I love Aronofsky's work. I seriously don't know what I just watched. I have to currently rate it as a one on IMDB. I'm going to have to think about it and have some conversations to see if that score will stay.

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre

Starts off very slow, very low budget, and looking very dated. Suddenly halfway jumps to being completely insane.

Very much a film low on budget and resources, but very high in ambition.

I've never gotten around to see films from this franchise before. I might also watch part 2 and then be ready to watch the new prequel coming out.
