Gran Turismo Sport Official Thread

Dude, just throw in the towel and AT LEAST try the demo today. I think it's only for 2 days maybe? It's free.
I was in the beta but only played it a couple times. Either way I have to wait until launch to find out what it really has for single player stuff.

Back to FM7 right now since GT servers are offline again for maintenance. I still say the UI presentation is better in GT Sport, but after playing FM7 the cars and tracks, graphically are pretty close. I am guessing if I move the PS Pro to the HDR port, GT would get the edge possibly.

Game looks beautiful on PS Pro. Not going to compare it to other games until Nov 7th :)

Just the screens loading up were amazing. Did a few quick laps and a race at the oval track and game is definitely fun.

Definitely tempting. Would like to see more about the final game.

Got some PS4 Pro Photomode shots.

I started the driving school this morning before work, and got the first 7 golds out of the way. I have to say, I think we take it for granted that people just know how to drive in video games. I actually think this driving school option in GT Sport is a good idea to encourage and help new gamers and I would like to see this more in games. Many games assume your experience. A lot of thought has been put into this game.

I have zero desire to play online in this game, so I am not sure of the replay-ability for me for the full game. I will give it a whirl though.

The online thing is scaring me away from this game. Online means that my fun is dependent on other people not being a-holes...

It isn't just people wrecking on purpose either but people who drive aggressively and just don't know what they are doing.

Yea for the most part single player only, although I have had some good times in Forza with other members here. If you can get a nice small group together to meet up with once in a while it can work. Even if you have some issues with bumps you know it's not on purpose and s*** happens in racing.

Only if photos could show HDR...

Yeah, unfortunately turned it off so it displays okay for most people.

I think the console actually encodes HDR data into the images though if you leave it on, but then those shots look messed up for most people on PC/Cellphones unless they're browsing on their UHDTV.

The one with all the jewels that they wear when they sit in the iron throne.

Played the demo. GT Sport is a must have if you're a racing fan. It's as simple as that.
Like my wife's anal gem?

^ the demo doesn't allow you to go past stage 8 of the driving school. I guess what you do in the demo carries over to the final game though.

Played the demo for an hour or so. I think it will be a really good game, but if that's the campaign mode its really lacking. I'm really pumped about VR portion though

I'm on ps4 pro with HDR. Visually, its really mixed. In replays, menus, and under certain conditions, it looks great, better than anything else to me, but unfortunately, not during gameplay. The pics I saw on Neogaf had me excited until I realized most were cherry-picked. 3 of courses I played are downright average looking, very bland and could have been something from Forza 4, but higher resolution. Framerate seems butter smooth.

The lighting looks great on the cars, but very "artificial" other times. The taillights/headlamps have a cool HDR effect, but they "outshine" the other visuals, making them look worse and stand out more.

I've give the demo an 8/10 overall. Great gameplay, mixed visuals from excellent to very average/below.

Very tempting to get this from Amazon for $47 US with the Prime discount...

I have no time for another game right now.

I wonder if those scenes will still look and feel the same with the new custom liveries...or would they even allow it?

Like custom paintjob stuff? Is that what a livery is? I'm not too keen on the terminology.

The top shot is a custom painted car with a noob decal on it. Not sure if that answers the question though.

It does have an amazing photo mode I'll give it that.

The photomode is almost perfect. It's like a mini-customized Photoshop.

Scapes are a pretty cool idea as well.

Yeah, I guess it does...but still curious to see how it'll look with more extravagant ones would look like, with anime or Einsteins face on the hood.

Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't there an option to import images and place them on a car, via USB transfer?

No time either but I can't say no. The VR usability makes it such I can't pass up.
