I'll take the director of the devs over vgchartz but no continue to be salty over something not worth being salty about.

I have no idea how this became about Destiny 2 vs Halo 5. Although for the record they were both sequels to disappointing games and both had disappointing sales.

UK top 10

  1. FIFA 18
  2. Middle-earth: Shadow of War
  3. The Evil Within 2
  4. Forza 7
  5. Forza Horizon 3
  6. Destiny 2
  7. GTA5
  8. Crash Bandicoot
  9. Lego Worlds
  10. Lego Ninjago Movie

EW2 sold less than a quarter of The Evil Within's 2014 physical launch total.

So that means FM7 didn't sell well if it is less than EW2 on that list. Unless of course, the Play Anywhere feature of FM7 encouraged an unusual amount of digital sales.

EW2 sold around 15k so FM7 did just over 10k

The UK is such a tough market to crack, if you cannot get the hardcore enthused you must get the casual engaged instead but looking at TEW2 it like many other games has failed to register enough interest with both crowds. I am really interested in GT as I think there is a large enough fanbase of hardcore fans who will buy it but I do think many people are upset at the lack of a campaign like myself and I will not buy it.

How is that, for first week in the UK? It doesn't sound like much.

Its not. As mentioned it's a big drop and most big releases see around 60-90k for first week sales.

The first released on Xbox 360 and PS3 as well but it mainly sold on Xbox one and PS4.

Interestingly the PS4 version sold nearly twice as much as the first and Xbox one sold half as much.

Shadow of Mordor was down 18% selling 82k at retail.

For comparison this year in the UK from recent games compared to their last release...

Uncharted: Down over 50%
Forza 7: Down 22%
Destiny 2: Down 58%
FIFA 18: Down 25%
The Evil Within 2: Down 75%

Probably cause someone feels burned that Bungie went against the hand that fed them, broke free and delivered a better experience all on their own as Halo fell off. All Bungie wanted was to try something new iirc and MS said no.

I'd probably say i like Halo more than Destiny, but there's no denying which franchise has better legs atm and that's Destiny. Microsoft bet on the wrong horse and lost. They could have had Destiny as an exclusive and it will haunt them for generations to come.

Last Forza had a slow release, too, then? UK likes Forza Horizon well enough. They don't like the main game as much, it seems.

Seems it unless they are waiting for Nov 7th but we shall see. The game had still sold over 300k in it's first weekend overall but that's worldwide so some % will be digital.

Nintendo press: "This marks the third straight month that Nintendo Switch has been No. 1, and the fifth time overall in the seven months since its launch. Nintendo Switch has already surpassed 2 million units sold in the U.S. alone, and has yet to go through its first holiday shopping season.

When combined with the Nintendo 3DS family of systems and the plug-and-play Super Nintendo Entertainment System: Super NES Classic Edition system, Nintendo systems claimed two-thirds of the month’s total video game hardware sales.

Nintendo Switch games again occupied multiple spots in the list of best-selling individual games of the month, including Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle from Ubisoft at No. 7, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild at No. 10 and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe at No. 11. Also, the Metroid: Samus Returns game for the Nintendo 3DS family of systems debuted at No. 8.

Nintendo Switch aims to continue its momentum into the holidays, with the launches of Fire Emblem Warriors on Oct. 20, Super Mario Odyssey on Oct. 27, DOOM and The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim from Bethesda Game Studios on Nov. 10 and Nov. 17, respectively, and Xenoblade Chronicles 2 on Dec. 1.

Nintendo deserve it, they are having a fantastic 1st year. The strength of Switch and PS4 sales this year really show how important exclusives can be for selling consoles.

GT takes the UK No.1

  1. Gran Turismo Sport
  2. FIFA 18
  3. South Park: The Fractured but Whole
  4. WWE 2K18
  5. Middle-earth: Shadow of War
  6. The Evil Within 2
  7. Destiny 2
  8. Grand Theft Auto 5
  9. Forza Motorsport 7
  10. Crash Bandicoot N'Sane Trilogy

Well I'm not surprised that GT Sport is at #1 and sells nearly three times as many copies as Forza 7 at launch.
