Oure - PS4

Nice. Thanks for the screens. Gives a flavor. It's a slow-paced, languorous sort of game.

What should I be doing on the Titan? BTW, I am at over 200 orbs collected now.

You got me. I stopped after getting the first Titan and haven't returned yet. You're ahead of me at this point.

Well, I ended up getting tired of Oure, and I'm going to shelve it for now. I played for an hour or so, off and on, but I don't have the motivation to continue.

It started off nicely -- the visuals, the floaty feeling of gliding through clouds, a bit of mystery, the relaxed pace, etc. I thought it would be my kind of game. But it didn't really hold up.

It doesn't have much variety in terms of gameplay -- glide through clouds, collect orbs, unlock Titans. It was entrancing the first time, but by the second Titan, it felt repetitive. It's the same white, blurry landscape, the same orbs, and another search for a Titan. I asked myself if I wanted to go through this gameplay loop another 6 times, and the answer was no. I also read in the reviews that there isn't any emotional payoff, so that killed my motivation, too.

Oh well. My sense is that Oure makes a good first impression, but that it doesn't have the variety or emotional resonance of a game like Journey or even Abzu. Maybe that's part of why they dropped it on us suddenly, hoping to rely on that first impression.

Or maybe I'm just picky. I seem to be quitting a lot of games halfway through lately.

Did you have to do anything with the 2nd Titan?

I actually got stuck on the second Titan. I couldn't figure out how to get to the crystals on the edges of his wings. I kept getting blown back. I figured I was missing something, but I didn't know what it was.

Here's a nice gif, so you won't feel so sad. :)

I was reading your comment again about going through the game 6 times. Are you saying that I have to keep finding the 750 orbs multiple times? Or that I have to unlock things I have already unlocked multiple times?

Oh, no, I meant finding the 8 Titans. Or is it 9, I don't know? There's some total number of Titans you have to activate.

I just meant that, after I'd done that twice -- shimmied around gathering orbs, finding and unlocking the Titan -- I didn't feel like doing again it 6 more times. It's pretty much the same gameplay loop each time, with some variation in the Titans.

Well I finally figured out how to unlock titan 1. Then I figured out titan 2 but getting blown back made it like a half hour process. Ugh. But now I am collecting some more orbs and finding the art. Gonna try titan 3 now. I imagine it's pretty hard.

Edit: just did the third titan. Not bad. On to 4!

Still plugging away at Oure, huh?

I don't seem to have the patience to stick with games, the way I used to. I used to really be determined to stick it out, but over the past year or two, there have been a lot of games that I've bought, played a little bit of, then just stopped.

Cool. Looks like Journey in the clouds to me. No idea how i missed this thread.
Essentially it's tiny bit puzzle. But you travel through and around clouds gathering orbs and relics. You can unlock abilities to see locations for things you need to collect or complete. The goal seems to be finding 8 titans and taking control of them.

Just started my 5th Titan. The game doesn't really change at all. The only thing that differs really is the Titans are different puzzles. However, after completing the 4th Titan, the game color changed from white clouds and blue skies to a lighter orange hue. Giving it a somewhat darker appearance. It's fine, but it makes finding openings in the clouds more difficult to find :(

711 of 750 orbs!!! Not as fun as collecting orbs in Crackdown 1, but still fun :)

Collected every orb and collectible and all Titans complete. Game done. If you like puzzles and collecting while chilling, this game is for you. It's challenging too.

7/10 from me.
