Official Thread The Switch Thread

Sadly just means a bunch of half arsed ports. EA are already saying they ate only considering one more fifa before dropping switch support due to poor sakes of this year's on the console.

They really are an odd publisher

Switch doesn't need EA anyway. Especially with the direction they're going in. Sure it might be nice to have sport titles on the switch but arcade style would work better on it and Rocket League is the only one it needs.

So, has ANYONE bought a second set of Joycons? The reason I ask that is that I personally can't justify the price.

a set of joycons is 79.99, then you need the controller base, that's another 20 dollars. So for another joycon based controller you're looking at 100 dollars. Why would I do that when i can get the much better pro controller for 70? I still have yet to see a game that doesn't support the Pro controller either.

Either way, Nintendos controller prices are outrageous.

I prefer playing with the joycons for Mario so I finally bought a second set last week. Didn’t buy another controller base as that’s optional, for Mario I prefer detached joycons.

Exactly. They are too expensive if you ask me.

I bought an extra. I have a set of gray and neon. I just keep a set on the controller with another on the Switch itself. I agree, though, the price for a set is ridiculous.

I went for PSVR instead of the Switch.

$350 for Skyrim bundle, great deal. I'm really looking forward to Skyrim VR.

PSVR has a bigger library than Switch. More games that appeal to me (8 or 9 vs. 3 or so). Personally, I think Skyrim alone will make the bundle worth buying.

Just like Zelda alone makes the case for a Switch.

p.s. Maybe I'll get a Switch, too. Zelda does sound awesome.

Thinking of getting a Switch. Are there any games worth having other than Zelda and Mario?

If you dont know the answer to this then maybe you don't actually want a Switch at this time.

Like Doom and Skyrim? Those seem to be solid ports. Plenty of people value portability over power. Wii U failed because it was ahead of it's time. The Switch is what Nintendo envisioned.

Wouldn't surprise me one bit if the Switch started getting better third party support than the Xbox One and i'm being serious. Devs go where the market is. Power really isn't on the top of anyone's list, except Xbox fans apparently.

Visuals are pretty bad thx to the low res as are the other VR devices which are only marginally better.

Give me 1440p+ per eye

Yeah that's why, while tempted by PSVR, I want to see if MS introduces better tech when/if they do jump in to VR.

They won't likely make better tech than the Vive and the Vivie isn't enough for me either.

No gpu out today offers enough horsepower.
Maybe next gen headsets/gpu will meet my needy needs.

I still might mess with my psvr as I'm stuck with it.

Probably not the thread for this, but what is your biggest criticism of PSVR? It seems like most that own it, love it.

Agreed. I'm very active in the psvr community. Every day on reddit there's a new owner posting "Ok guys you were right, VR is f***ing incredible." I'm numb to it.

My sister just bought a switch with Zelda. She lives with me and my gf. Got to play some Zelda last night and i really liked it.

So, bought a Switch for the holidays and hashing out all the accessories. I assumed that a 2nd set of joycons would be a good buy but now not so sure. My thought was that the 2nd set would primarily be for wheels for Mario Kart but also bought a 2nd comfort grip (on sale for $7 on CM). Unless it makes sense and there are 4 player games where the Joycons are preferred, I'm thinking of getting a 2nd pro controller instead. Are there any 4 player games that are "made" for using just a joycon (outside of Mario Kart)? Utlimately for flexibility, my thought was to have 4 joycons, 2 grips, 2 pro controllers for almost any scenario.

Not too much traffic over here but I'll ask another question...

If I have a parent and child account, can I play the same digital game across multiple switches at the same time (Parent account logged into one and child account logged into another)? If so, think I'll buy most MP games (like Splatoon 2) digitally...

Nevermind....found the answer and it's disappointing....

Can I link my Nintendo Account to more than one Nintendo Switch console?
You can link your Nintendo Account to multiple consoles. However, you can only activate one console per Nintendo Account. Games that you’ve downloaded with your Nintendo Account will only be playable on the one active console for your account.

Too bad...love that I can buy digital games on Xbox and play them across 2 consoles with only one copy of the game.

Not sure on the joycon games for 4 players. Outside of Mario Kart I can't even think of a game that is 4 player right now.

Sad to report that i sold out on Nintendo when i got my Xbox One X. Went with power instead of games, something i rarely do. Could have easily stuck with my One S for a bit and got the Switch but my thinking was i'd play Mario and Zelda(already did on Wii U) and then the system would collect dust for months. Will definitely get a Switch early next year though when i get the chance to blow another $400.
