Justice League

The only movie I would consider kind of bad is Suicide Squad and that still did great at the box office.

They just aren't hitting with audiences as a whole, BvS was ok but could have been so much better. I like Man of Steel but honestly that could have been better as well, I still liked it but I think it could have just had a better energy to it. I know we can't go back to the super innocent superman we had back in the Christopher Reeve movies but I think Cavill is a bit too drab and boring to play the part, plus Superman shouldn't be going bald so young lol. I wouldn't mind them giving another actor the part for Superman but I think Affleck should stay on as Batman. Speaking of changing actors they need to get a new guy to play Lex Luthor ASAP, couldn't stand Eisenberg playing him in BvS.

Nah. I love Cavill as Superman. He showed what he could do when he had that very short bad Superman in the flashback. And he showed some more in justice league.

Cavil has the body of Superman but the really bad hairline and the lack of any real emotional range kind of irks me a bit. Then again a lot of that has to do with how the character is written and the direction he's given.

Yes, but it’s awful. Really bad right from the very first scene.

Agreed. Supes looked awful, it was so jarring, I chalk it up to the quick turn around needed to launch the movie on schedule, but still really?!
Will say I liked it better than the past "Snyderverse" DCEU films, still not a good movie however. WW was good, as was Flash (though I can't stand his suit), Aquaman was meh, Cyborg was alright (his CGI was awful IMO), Steppenwolf was visually cool, though, not really imposing and his parademons were dumb looking. The movie was kinda a mess, editing all over the place, sub par visual effects, but still didn't turn out terrible. I definitely wasn't planning on seeing it in the theater, but my son wanted to, it was definitely better than the previews.

If I was gay, Cavill would be at the top of my list. Hairline and all.

Well I am gay and he's not on mine LOL. I think Brandon Routh was a better Superman because he has that sort of good guy charm you'd expect Clark to have. Sadly he wasn't able to show that at all in Superman Returns and he ended up being replaced, he does a good job on Legends of Tomorrow though. Cavill isn't awful or anything I just wouldn't mind him being replaced with someone a little more likeable but that's just me.

Never noticed the hairline, just know I’ve loved Cavill as Superman in 3 movies now.

Cavill body>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Routh body. Currently using Cavill in MoS body as a guide for the year end fitness push. Working out harder than I have ever in my life. Doing two a days. It’s insane. Went to gym 11 times last last week. When your pet passes, who you revolved your life around, lovingly, amen without an ounce of reservation, you have more time in your hands to occupy.

Yeah he has a more picture perfect body for sure although Routh used to be pretty impressive as well, still is but clearly not as hardcore with his routine as he used to be. Of course when it comes to the face I think Routh takes that hands down but that's a totally different kind of convo than you are looking for lol.

Good luck on achieving your fitness goal! just don't push so hard that you injure yourself, that sounds like an insane schedule. I'm sorry to hear about your pet passing :( that's always a devastating thing to go through.

This movieis bad. The CGI is the least of the issues for me.

Biggest issue for me is the whole movie is centred around building a pointless team.

The Flash is just annoying. Aqua Man sounds like a high surfer dude. Cyborg comes off as uninteresting. And Batman looks totally out of his depth.

Don't even get me startd on the story/writing.

I bet you also thought Superman vs Batman was awesome.
It was, once Wonder Women started doing her thing.

They rushed to get that Avengers money with this instead of having more solo movies to build to it like Marvel. They rushed to kill Superman even though that meant having less Superman in JL and not being able to use him to promote it. They somehow ignored the poor reception of the first two Zack Snyder movies and let him do another. They f***ed up.

I can’t comment on JL yet. See I enjoyed MoS. Some of BvS was pretty good, it also had its problems. WW was great just the last Act was not as good. SSquad some of it was fun it also had some problems and should have went with a different villain.

I just don’t understand why they were already making a JL movie before establishing these characters more and not having solo films for some of them. Makes no sense.

Technically they got to JL one film shorter than marvel did with Avengers or the same if WB and DC say screw it keep green lantern as part of the DCU.

And as Kiki is M.I.A ill keep the updates as the film is now coming up to $500M

to me batman v superman was their avengers... since wonder woman bounced off that

so they only had man of steel which ddint really hint at any universe thing if i remember right

SS doesn't set up JL so its a Superman and Wonder Woman movie with Batman introduced but leaving half the team unknown before the big movie

vs

Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, and Hulk getting solo movies with Black Widow and Hawkeye being previously introduced. Seems like the clear model to follow but they wanted to get to the biggest of bucks first.

Stick with it man! As another fitness guru/enthusiast you have my support.

Also....I'd go gay for Cavill. Dude is 'pretty' in a masculine way if that makes any sense at all.

I'm going to see this movie tonight. Excited, yet I know it won't be that great.

I think that Cavill arguably looks the part more than any other actor before him. He also kept MoS from going into terrible waters. I believe it's 100% the material that is written/directed, why he isn't showing any range. It's a damn shame that we haven't been able to see him to really be Superman, the one that the character really embodies.

This is what he has said about how he would like to see that character going forward:

"There's a wonderful opportunity to tell the Superman story," he said. "Now there is a fantastic chance to show Superman in his full colours and tell a very complex, character-driven movie that is based on story and have that wonderful sensation of hope and happiness. A feel-good movie with lessons laced in there as well."

Yes, great idea going forward. This was never in Snyder's ability range. He's a one trick pony, and that trick was The 300. Zack Snyder is probably the least diverse director working in showbiz. IMO, Favreau would make such a great Supes flick, but I'm sure he'd never do it.

I really wish that Aronofsky Batman movie became reality.

I think Ben Affleck could do good things directing a superhero movie.

what you need is a director who isnt a comic book fan, cause the comic book fan ones just copy the comics which is not always a great transition

I honestly think you just need a talented director who respects the source. They don't have to be uber fans, but I think that they need to understand core principals and hardships.

Saw it and ultimately enjoyed it. Considering how much was condensed, I found the story pretty serviceable in terms of introducing four new characters. Really enjoyed the portrayals of Aquaman and Cyborg the most. So much that it got me excited for their standalone films. Flash was cool to watch overall. I think considering we've had multiple portrayals of the Flash over the years, this was a solid bug budget intoduction. Wonder Woman was her usual awesome self as well. Also like that Batman wasn't OP this time around. Good call on making him more vulnerable than anything else. Steppenwolf was a solid baddy. These super sights have been the highlight for me personally, and I didn't leave disappointed.

My negatives are these, too much humor. Not saying it needs to be severely toned down, but if BvS was too grim, this was too light. If they can hit the right balance, I think it'll make for a solid experience. The renders. So much of this movie seemed like a monumental task to render out. Too many times were the 3D models clearly noticeable. I think the weirdest one (just to point out one example) was when they had Superman's corpse and put him in the krypto goo. The animation seemed off along with the render. That room looked live action though. Some of the elements and way CGI is incorporated is just weird. Although I never stopped enjoying the sight of Cyborg. Honestly, they get the CGI renders and balance between comedy/drama right, and I'm pretty happy.

At the end of the day, it was a pleasure to see Justice League finally make it to the big screen and my hype for Deathstroke is too real. Can't wait to see him in a future film.

Nice spoiler there.
