Welcome fellow TXB'ers: Re-introduce yourself here!

Hey guys, joined TXB back in early 2007 as Jeffyjaixx. Posted actively for the first few years but recently just been lurking because things change in life. Feels good to be part of this movement!

Hi errybody. I was on TXB since 2006 but left when Shock got canned, moved to WCG but then they blocked it at work killing my posting.....now I can get to this site at work so I'm back until the man shuts me down again.

Always nice having another Hampton Roadsian. I was wondering where you've been.

Joe.
Handsome, bearded Englishman. Also alluring, eloquent and sophisticated, or so I've been told.

Joined TXB in 2007, left for WCG during the great meltdown, came back from time to time to see who was still around. TXB was the first forum I ever joined, so it kind of has a place in my heart; it taught me how 2 internet.

It tares me up to see it's now just a wasteland inhabited by nothing but Ugg boots for men and Michael Kors clones. *cries every time*

Welcome to the Union forums! How did you find us???

Thank you  I found this forum by typing in “videogame forum xenforo” in to a search engine. I have been looking for somewhere to keep up with whats happening with videogames and chat etc for a while now.

I have been out of the loop for quite a while. The most up to date games I have played are Fallout 4, Elder Scrolls Online and Battlefield 1.
I used to absolutely love CoD and have played it since the first game but the last CoD game I truly played was Modern Warfare 2 and Black Ops 1. I am looking for an online game and community I can fall in love with like I did with Runescape and Modern Warfare 1 when I was younger... but maybe that is a feeling I will never get to experience again now that I am older? Maybe you have to be young to feel like that about a videogame? I dont know.

I really like Shooter games and Massive Multiplayer Online games.

What games do you play? What is the community like here?

Yo Ox. Welcome. Just look around the forum and jump into convo. I myself play have only managed to play Overwatch this year.

Overwatch seems to be very popular  But, from what I have seen, it seems very arcadey and a bit busy for my tastes. Reminds me of Timesplitters actually... it is fun to play every now and again but not a game I ever really got in to.
Or maybe I have completely misjudged it?
What Shooters have you played in the past? What do you like about Overwatch?

Thanks for the welcome

Never saw this thread before, cool to see the influx of fellow TXB addicts and others in 2013.

Anyway welcome Ox! Garp here, old timey TXB psychopath. I'm mostly a pc gamer now (I like building and strategy games) but I have my eye on the New Box. I have a four year old, so we've been enjoying Mario Odyssey together--and now he's obsessed with throwing hats on things to inhabit them with his soul. Dammit Nintendo.

Thanks

Whats the New Box?

Have you ever played the Real Time Strategy game, Age of Empires 2? It may well be my favourite game of all time :txbsmile:

Xbox One X. I'm old and lazy, so New Box is what I always call whatever the latest Xbox is.

Yes, AoE2 is one of my faves as well, though I sucked at multiplayer because I hated having to use supersonic speed. Now I'm more into grand strategy like Crusader Kings 2, and weird indie God games.

I will have to take a look at Crusader Kings 2 then... is that the game you play the most on PC?

Yeah, I have never been amazing at AoE2 online multiplayer either. Maybe we can have a game together where we team up against some low level AI some time? I always enjoyed building my civilization more than being at war all the time anyways :tounge:
Do you have AoE2 on Steam?

Hi, Ox, welcome. The community is a transplant of Team Xbox, which folded several years ago. Plainview started this site up, and we all jumped over here. It's essentially TXB in a new skin, with members who're a little more mature and settled than in most forums. It does lean heavily Xbox, although we've got plenty of multi-console owners. It's a friendly, established community with about 100 active members. You'll find plenty of people to talk about shooters with on the Xbox side. I'm not sure about MMOs. I don't see much conversation about those. We've got some PC gamers, but not a whole lot. It's mostly a console-oriented forum.

I'm actually playing those first three games right now. About 30 hours into Fallout 4, and while I initially didn't enjoy it, the last 10 hours or so after taking a small break I have been hooked. ESO I don't have much time in. A friend and I started our initial character and after 15 hours or so we just moved on. Recently started new characters though so hopefully we can continue it. BF1 I play once in a while. Haven't really been a fan of it in the past but after building my new PC I checked it out again and enjoyed it. I do enjoy a good shooter like Doom, Wolfenstein, etc but don't play too much competitive anymore. That said I did get the new Quake Champions with my CPU so I might play that a bit.

Wahey! Welcome! Stay awhile, and listen! [/DeckardCainvoice]

You have pretty similar gaming taste as me, except I found Battlefield 1 to be as boring as bottling cat piss (which you think would be kind of exciting... But no.).

I was a big Ragnarok Online player as a young teen, then got stuck on FFXI for about 4 years, then Wow... Tried FFXIV recently, but the pings in my country render the game unplayable.

Also, the community here is as lovable as Rebecca Black. <3

Battlefield 3 got me hooked really bad a few years back. Probley put like 1500 hours into it. Just loved it so much. I was mid 30s then. I think the only game since that has instilled that sense of amazement and a constant grin has been Zelda BotW. Really loved Horizon Zero Dawn though.

I think as we get older our tastes towards games become a little more refined and it just takes something special to spark that feeling again.
