Wow

Too bad Microsoft couldn’t have made a universal Xbox OG emulator on X1. Then you could pop any disk in and play. But then we probably wouldn’t have the enhancements.

Can you play 360 BC titles online? RDR, for instance?

I know it's a long shot, but I wish Rockstar would 4k enhance Gta 4 and dlc. Especially since I found the Liberty City disk in an old dusty drawer yesterday. Lol

I hope so because right now as a straight BC title it looks awful.

It really does.

It’s funny how our minds remember how games looked back then and how they actually did look.
4K would do wonders for this game, if for nothing else, at least to get rid of that gross blurry depth of field wall. But also for performance. I thought GTA 4 had a slow-mo option. But it was just the frame rate.

Yeah I remember back in the day when it came out I thought it looked great but now it looks like a blurry mess lol. A lot of these BC games have the same issue, without the One X enhancements reality really hits hard and these games don't look anywhere near as good as some of us remember them looking. Luckily from this gen on BC games will still look decent on future consoles, they won't be 720p games (some below that)upscaled on a 4K tv. I'm pretty sure playing them on 4K sets is part of the problem though, when they came out there were being played on mostly 720p or 1080p sets and upscaling wasn't done or at least not to the same degree.

These One X enhancements to the games that do get them are great though, hopefully they'll be able to get more of them out there for these games that'll never likely get a re-make, at this point it's the only thing that makes the BC feature appeal to me personally and it's great that they are able to do it when they can.

Gta IV always looked a bit ugly due to the Dull realistic look they tried so it was never going to age well.

The Mass Effect trilogy would be a nice 4k Update

Indeed. That would save me waiting for EA to get around to remastering it. I did run through the first game twice, almost thrice, but I'd be up for a run through the whole trilogy, if it were 4K and hopefully HDR as well. HDR on ME would look nice.

So true. And meanwhile we've gotten used to the new standard, and we compare the old game to that, and ouch.

Mercenaries was tragic. The first one was great and then they messed up the sequel so bad it completely destroyed the franchise.

The game needs a reboot.

Impressions of Republic Commando.
The framerate is much improved. The resolution is great, but this is a really old game, some of holds up well, some doesn't.
The first two levels of Republic Commando are pretty rough texture wise. I'm not sure why they chose to display the ugliest sections of the game in the beginning, especially that tutorial level on Genonosis.
The biggest problem with this game back in the day was the framerate, its very playable now with the bonus of much more clarity. Success, now I have one of my favorite games at near 4k.

Wow, looks like a current gen game. I always thought it was ahead of its time to begin with.

Was a big fan of the first game. Never played the 2nd because I heard it wasn’t good. Would love to see a new game one day.

Very cool! This is makes the XBOX ONE X even better. The extra horsepower is upgrading the older games. Not just the newer games. And these games will carry forward.

Massive difference here. This is what I love about OG Xbox games, alot of them were uncapped 60fps with huge dips. So we get an even bigger boost on new hardware.
