Xbox One X

UI is a mess compared to the PS4 Pro but its better than when it 1st launched and seems 2 be getting better and better.

Disagree. Just takes a few minutes of work to make it better.

I suggest all new users pin the games and apps they want to primarily play. You can fit a lot of pins on one page. Whenever at the home screen, hitting the right trigger takes you to all your pins and you can see and navigate through everything at once.

I wish PlayStation had something similar. PS4s UI is still snappier because it doesn’t run off the internet like Xbox’s but the options in the Xbox UI are nice.

I personally think that both the X and the Pro's UI's are both sluggish, especially on the Pro if you are in game or just coming out of a game.

Total opposite here, the Pro was always smoother than the One X to me and the standard PS4 was smoother than the Pro. I have to say after recently switching to an SSD it's sped my Pro UI up considerably, it was already smoother in every regard than the one on the One X but now it's smoother than the standard PS4 was.

Yea I am not investing in an SSD for a console where there will be minimal performance gain.

I noticed that game got a 48% on metacritic. I did read, though, that they've fixed a lot of the launch issues, and reception has gotten better over time.

X-enhanced version looks great at 1800p, 4x the pixels of the normal game. Pro version runs at 1400.

Damn no way the game should nebe rated that low as it is now on the X. Granted it's definitely not up to the standard of your big shooters but a different and fun little surprise on game pass.

Game is a looker as well that's for sureand.

I didn't plan on it but my external 7200rpm drive died and I ended up getting a 2TB SSD for $399, it was expensive and I didn't expect UI improvements from it but they were a nice bonus. As far as the stock drives though I've never seen the One X as a smoother experience than the Pro, it's been the complete opposite for me.

I didn't notice a lack of smoothness. What I noticed was a lot of mess or "noise" on the screen. This may be just a personal preference -- I like to keep things in my life simple and uncluttered. PS4's UI is simple and uncluttered, I'd say, whereas Xbox's is messy and cluttered (at least on first glance). Also, I didn't like that the Xbox UI reminded me of social media -- not just the embedded mixer, but the whole layout or feel of it. I'm not a big fan of social media, so that is kind of off-putting to me.

At the end of the day, though, we're just talking about UI. What matters is the games, not the dashboard we use to access them.

Yeah it's just a small thing overall, it's not really a huge deal one way or the other. I do wish Sony would have done what MS did though and just upscale the UI/Menu from 1080p and use that little bit of extra memory for the games. The Pro's menu/UI is native 4K and if I remember correctly that uses up like half a gig of RAM, that seems like a waste of system resources to me. Not sure how much would be gained by upscaling but I would think any little bit would be appreciated by developers.

100% agree. I feel like there is just too much s*** thrown at you in a cluster-f*** of a mess.

At least with a PC you can organise and minimise the amount of icons for your games.
Xbox has so much stuff on it that I don't want to see or even know about, and then there's side menus and a sidebar to share the exact same info with me again.

I feel like I'm being advertised to on a platform Ive already paid for.

Mostly, it feels cheap and tacky.

The Sony dash has steaze.

i was ok with 30fps campaign and 60fps multiplayer

Best thing about the dasboard on the Xbox One isn't the dashboard. The guide is where it's at. If you don't care about mixer or the community feed, use the guide. Nothing is faster. Access to friends, chat, pinned and recent games, achievements, settings, Xbox store, apps, messages, broadcasts. Response time is instant. I never have to use my dashboard anymore thanks to the guide. It blows away the dasboard on both consoles. Once you start to rely on it you won't go back to the dash.

Was smooth enough 4 me and 1080p/60fps/HDR isn't shabby imo.
You have a 1080ti don't you? Have you tried it on PC?

I can't wait for the next gen of nVidia cards to finally upgrade, and comeback and play this and Quantum Break again.

I only have a 380, but they were both super beautiful on that.

Going back and forth between pro and x I have noticed that the pro is very smooth, but almost too organized with just tons of icons and information, x could be worse because it can be choppy, but when using only the guide it is faster and cleaner and doesn't feel like information overload.

Two very different approaches and going from one to the other is a bit of culture shock either way I think. Two very different ways of doing same thing. I think switch is a mix of the two styles.

Try coming out of the browser to a game on Pro. It comes to a crawl.
The only sluggishness I experience on X is on the MS store where tiles take forever to load in when browsing for games. But that has improved it seems.

The store has improved on the dashboard, but is still the slowest area. I always access it from the flyout guide.
