I'm still using a 2002 model Pioneer 5.1 with S-video as it's high end input. Are you guys jealous?

What a relief! My Dreamcast and OG Xbox are, very...
....actually you know what, I am, my old Sony 5.1 doesn’t have S-Video....
*looks behind receiver* ya, nvm, it’s got one lol

No red, blue and green composite looking jacks? What a relief!
Not on the low end models. $200 was my max and I got the best with I could at the time.
Latter I believe and you shouldn't notice lag unless you have some processing turned on.Does one run a splitter from an Xbox to a receiver then and the tv or is it from Xbox to receiver to tv? And does that have any latency/lag issues if one were to run the latter?

I got a $399 model that did in 2002 and FWIRC the models below it had them but were lower watts.
Anyone go with sound bar systems instead? I am thinking about replacing my Sony soundbar (which included a sub) with a new one that has more bass and punch. Looking at Bose right now, as the Soundbar 300 looks nice, but has no sub. I haven't heard one though.

Do you know what bar he has?My brother has a sound bar with a pretty punchy sub in his room and it’s pretty slick. But has told me when he plays games like destiny or anything pvp he goes with his headset to hear footsteps and such, as do I for halo 5.
5.1 in the living room for the Switch and 360, BoTW is just heavenly.
I would if I could have built the house and had all the stuff run behind the walls. We want no wires.I would only ever use a soundbar type thing if I didn't have the space for a 5.1 setup.
Right If somebody is serious about sound they use 5.1(or higher depending on the budget and space restrictions)I would only ever use a soundbar type thing if I didn't have the space for a 5.1 setup.

But wireless speakers still need power to them.I didn't build my house and ran the wires in the walls. I also ran CAT6 cables to every room in my home too. It certainly can be done. They also have wireless speaker bridges. I don't super recommend them, but they do work.
But wireless speakers still need power to them.
Right, but you can't see my soundbar power cord or optical cord, nor the sub cord next to the TV stand. Having a center speaker on the wall with a power cord and 4 more wireless speakers throughout the livingroom with power cords on each one would be a nightmare..So do sound bars.
You SOB now I have to spend money...Xbox One X in Atmos is something not to be missed.
