that have kept my Xbox working overtime

No offense but 40K gamerscore in 15 years isn't exactly overtime, lol. If you were playing games that much you'd have 100K by default. But i get it, you have a family, other responsibilities or whatever, and love Xbox. Nothing wrong with that.

When you create this kind of narrative that Xbox has endless amounts of games and nobody should be voicing their opinion that there's a lack of exclusives though, that i do have a problem with. I've played everything Xbox has to offer, and then some. It's not cutting it for me anymore.

I've been on xbox about nearly as long but am still under 90k, but I also don't really give a $#!+ about achievements at all and don't strive to 'get em all' in every game... plus achievements/ gamerscores were only introduced with the xbox 360, so technically it's only been 13 years...

60k here.

If Gamerscore somehow related to the hours put into playing through as opposed to playing a certain way to unlock specific goals, it'd be much higher. Typically I just play through the game however I want and if I get achievements along the way, cool, if not I typically don't give a s***. It's super rare for me to actually go out of my way and 100% a game intentionally, I could probably name the games that's happened with on one hand. That and a lot of what I play are MP focused games which could be hundreds and hundreds of hours means mine isn't hitting 100k anytime soon unless I go out of my way to start completing achievements.

Yeah I don't care about achievements or trophy's either, if someone else does good for them but that's not something I ever pay attention to.

Everyone who claims they don't care about trophies/achievements must suck at games.

Just kidding, I hate them and keep the notifications disabled.

Came in wanting to read about RDR2 and left again after stepping in loads of salt spilt by the Sony Defence Force...

You mean Xbox Defense Force. The conversation started because someone casually mentioned they were disappointed in X1 exclusives. Oh the huge manatee!

R* needs to add a crossplay multiplayer mode where Sony and Xbox fight each other in a bar fight, complete with breakaway chairs and people flying out windows.

It's the Green Hats vs. the Blue Hats! The loser is YOU, because everyone looks like a dumb-ass!!

I am ready. I just preordered the Standard Edition on Xbox because its said to be the best looking console version…..at least for us “Super X” owners. If Sony had secured more time for its exclusivity deal like on the order of what they did with Destiny I probably would have went with the PS4 version. I know, those deals suck but it’s a part of gaming so we have to roll with it.

I was tempted to go with the Special Edition for like $80. But one mission, hideout, outfit and resource pack just didn’t seem all that worth it to me. Cosmetic stuff is nice but content is more exciting to me and if I hadn’t recently read that the campaign is dozens of hours long I might have felt differently about the one exclusive mission.

That's fine but that's not what we're talking about. I'm simply pointing out that claiming your console is working overtime when you barely play half the games you tout is a bit of a stretch. The data doesn't lie.

If you've been on Xbox Live, PSN, or whatever for 10+ years and don't have a certain amount of achievements/trophies by default then you don't play your games much. You'd get at minimum 500 points in just about every game simply by playing through it and beating the game.

Yes, it's absolutely possible to have next to zero achievements and put hundreds of hours into a select few games. Which is fine, but claiming that your console(in this case Xbox) is working overtime and somehow insinuating that people's concerns for Xbox lacking games is a farce is misleading at best.

I'm just glad R* is shipping the entire game on 2 discs instead of shipping out incomplete games needing to be downloaded to have a complete like game MS does.

When that yearly stat thing comes this year, I'd bet my left nut I have more gameplay hours than anyone on this forum and less gamerscore than the majority. Also for a lot of games, most achievements aren't centered around simply completing the games but are usually frivilous s*** that you never would think to do unless you go out of your way.

I just don't think that a gamerscores or trophy levels or whatever is really a good metric for measuring how much someone plays their games.

Well there's that and also the leaps and logic he was deducing to don't make any sense. Especially when he's trying to frame it as some Xbox thing, knowing damn well almost everyone on this forum is a multi-console owner who have at least two of the current consoles.

I can't help it that most of the games I play are stingy asf with achievements. The latest game I'm playing, Hollow Knight, I've got something like 40+ hours into it and I'm sitting at 155/1000G. I platinum'd Spider-Man in under 30 hours. Times are hard.

I don't think its wise to tell someone else how much they are playing based on the extremely limited info you are privy to. We made mention of our admittedly low gamer scores because we understand playtime and gamerscore don't have a linear correlation. Mine are pretty low yet I probably log 2-4 hours a night. You are making a presumptuous ass of yourself.

It's not 15 years yet though.
I have about 100k, had the same gamertag since the beginning and played A LOT of the 360 games.
Now you need to take things into account; changed gamertag? Played on a console without internet and changed console before hooking old one to internet for syncing achievement (I lost 20k when my 360 RRODed)? Didn't go for achievements?
There's lots of reason for not having a huge gamerscore. Every real game contains 1000g without dlc, I've played through every AC game, prob about 30-50h each, and come up with about 600/1000g for those. Looking at mp games (sports, fighting etc.) which I've played a lot in the past and you hardly get any achievements at all if you only play for fun with friends and you'll see that you can play lots of games for many hours without having a high score.
Actually looking at trueachievements and I've played 366 xbox games.... and got 100k... let that sink in.
Gamerscore means nothing.
