Anthem

I'd say a 6.5 to 7 is fair. It's fun and I like it but you can tell it needs work. It doesn't feel like a game that was 5 years in development.

I've also ran into multiple bugs.

How is the day 1 patch?

Good. You can run in the base now. The mission tether where it loves into the area is much less strict. The loading time for the in game moves between the fort and the various other areas has been reduced.

Wow, this bombed harder in reviews than Crackdown 3.

The interesting thing of the reviews is that there's some debate over "launch". Obviously reviewers played before the "day 1" patch, but obviously even regular people had access to the game "early". So should the game be reviewed in the pre-patch state or after?

On one hand, companies shouldn't charge for early access and release a buggy game, but it is also a little harsh to blast a game on issues you know have been resolved pretty quickly.

This is why review scores should go. They don't mean anything. I may love a game that someone calls a 6, but hate a game someone calls a 9. There's many 9.5+ rated games sitting in my backlog right now. Doesn't mean the reviews are "wrong", just that there's a lot more to score when it comes to what a person will like.

You should start ignoring reviews more often
No way they are one of the main factors on if i buy a game or not.

Only times they don't matter is if i already played and liked the game,it's a sequel to a series I already like or the game still looks and sounds fun in videos and descriptions of what it's about.

Usually reviews nail it though.

Right but think of how many games you might have played and enjoyed if not going off reviews? And after all Destiny didn't exactly get great reviews and you love that.

I've had the audio go out completely on me multiple times. Requires a game restart and is really annoying.

Guess I'll play some when I get home in a couple of hours tonight... beginner tips? Will play solo and not interested in end game.

There is no solo. It's always online co-op.

i finished my 10 hours and i really wanted to keep playing tbh so i bought it lol i dont know, i just like loot shooters, i will probably not bother with end game much though when i get there

Despite the average reviews it’s getting the general commentary on the game on Reddit is very positive.
There are some serious bugs getting reported though. Like your character not registering correctly at the start of a mission and you go in with a seriously reduced health and get one shot by every enemy. Hopefully they’ll address these issues quickly while also adding more content.

Ouch on the reviews. Right around the same level as Mass Effect Andromeda. I hope Bioware eventually gets back to producing great games someday, but it's not looking good.

Some posters here recommended playing this game solo/private. That is absolutely the way to go. You only need co op for the Strongholds and high difficulty missions. The regular story missions are way more enjoyable in solo mode.

It's great, in a way, to see the big names (fallout 76, crackdown, ME andromeda and this) getting bad reviews from the big sites such as IGN. It certainly shows that there's no bias or bribes going on. I don't agree with them in some cases though.
