I've given it many chances. I've tried it. I don't need it or find that it adds value to my experience. Some people may feel differently and I understand that.
I can access what I need to just as quickly without voice. And it only understands what I'm saying correctly maybe 60% of the time. For example, Xbox, 'Play Assassins Creed 4: Black Flag' was somehow read as Xbox, 'Play Music' just now. If I would have just hit the A button to play a game, I would have been in my game 10 seconds sooner.
It's also not a meaningful part of any of the games I plan on buying the rest of this year or next year (see my list above).
I just don't find it advantageous to use and there are some serious flaws. And like every other household out there that Microsoft is getting into, not only will the gamer or Xbox One fan (usually a guy) have to find Xbox One TV advantageous, but they will have to convince their wife, kids, girlfriends, parents, etc that it is advantageous and also teach them out to use it. The wife, kids, girlfriends, husbands, parents, etc might not care or find it advantageous or worth their time when the DVR works perfectly fine.
My girlfriend represents that scenario perfectly. And shes very good with smart phones and the computer.
My wife loves, and I mean LOVES Kinect v1 on the 360 and uses it all the time. No way in hell I'll have to convince her to use the Kinectv2. I'll have to convince her that she bought the console for me and I should be able to use it more than she does!
Besides, the features and benefits of the XO sell itself. No need to convince. Those who buy one will know what their getting before hand. Unless their like you and purchase a console that comes with a camera that he doesnt have a need for. Why DID you buy the XO to begin with? You knew what you were stepping into. Whats the thinking?
Ah well. To each his own. I wasnt trying to sway you mate. Just sharing my opinion is all.
