We kinda can't time frame wise cause this could delay Destiny 3.
1-5 years is the best I can do.
Time frame isn't the point of the bet.
No game made them more/had more players then there Destiny franchise no way they are kicking it to the curb.
I guess it's too hard to do a bet on this. We'll just agree to disagree.
I think Destiny has a lot of baggage with gamers and I just don't view it as a franchise that Bungie truly believes in. Plus, linear loot shooters aren't the future of multiplayer.
I could be wrong but I'm willing to bet (figuritively speaking) Bungie wants a clean slate right now.
So they are going to bail on a sequel to a successful series that is well into development right after going through the trouble of acquiring its publishing rights? Makes sense.
Do we know Destiny 3 development started? Also, what's you're definition of a successful series? What's Bungies definition of a successful series?
What's your definition of 'definition'?

I wonder what was the issue(s) that got them to want to get out of their contract with Activision a year early?
If their next game is a success, they'll support that IP with sequels. Destiny has way too much baggage to keep that IP going.
Tencent is the biggest investment firm in the world, but Sunset would know too, he has stocks in Tencent.True, but does Bungie have enough resources to keep the lights on while they take their time on content updates? I really wouldn't be surprised if Chinese company Tencent swooped in for another majority stake investment. They seem to be focused on taking over all of gaming.
People want to paint Activision as the bad guy, but they pumped a lot of money into the game. Clearly they pushed the game towards profit, but we got a lot more updates than we ever would have. Remember in D1, there was only 1 good DLC. I think we are going to see much slower and fewer updates. The reason we've gotten regular content updates is because they brought in multiple studios to work on things.
The good news is hopefully they'll start working towards things that are long overdue like sandbox updates (that was actually supposed to hit end of this month anyway).
Also there doesn't need to be some sinister thing going on. Activision clearly wanted a AAAA game with big time profits. Destiny is a big game, but it is never going to get the widespread popularity of the big multiplayer games. The game is still big and has a very big active player base (remember, D2 added PC as well which is a ton of people).
Destiny can't get better till they change engine, end of.
Never played Destiny, but have heard good things I guess? Last game I played by Bungie was Halo Reach, which I personally loved. Here's hoping that they right the ship and move forward with some good games.
Is it true that most of their Halo teams aren't even at Bungie anymore? I know a bunch went to 343, but haven't some gone elsewhere?
The problem with your argument here is that without vicarus visions and high moon studios from activision helping warmind and forsaken would not have been as good especially forsaken. The annual pass content is all bungie and so far it pissing players off.The Forsaken expansion is incredible. Activision publicly saying they they were disappointed with sales after all their hard work was clearly a slap in the face and the straw that broke the proverbial camels back.
Bungie just wants to expand its game world and lore and all Activision can do is talk about their return.
Its better for the employees and their games that they get out from under Activisions thumb.
I thought Forsaken was mainly Bungie. The problem with your argument here is that without vicarus visions and high moon studios from activision helping warmind and forsaken would not have been as good especially forsaken. The annual pass content is all bungie and so far it pissing players off.
