Begun the Battle Royale wars have. (Well, not yet)
What's the over/under on new BR games debuting at E3 this June?
Can't wait until this fad is over.

The only positive is I don't hear much about moba's anymore.I think you're going to be waiting a while, lol.

No, it's simply true. MOBA's (Dota and LoL) are many times more complex than just about everything else on the market. They're chess when things like Fortnite and Overwatch are checkers. Intelligent people tend to gravitate towards complexity.
It's not a controversial statement at all.
I’d like to see GTA V battle royale with full traffic, pedestrians, etc. You could try to hide in plain sight.
Really? Do you have a study that backs that up or anything? I've played my share of MOBAs and there are plenty of idiots in those games. I will give you that there are less screaming 12 years odds than your average COD game. However, the trade-off is that you get more screaming 28 year olds. No, it's simply true. It is less a matter of complexity and more a matter of "Does this kind of game appeal to you?" It's not like MOBAs are rocket science.
Speaking if bad looks; did you read the article you posted? No where does it say anything about the average MOBA player being smarter than the average FPS player. It points out that the people who are BETTER at MOBAs have a higher intelligence than people who are better at FPS. It also points out that people tend to get BETTER at MOBAs as they get older and their IQ rises, while people have a tendency to get worse at FPS as they get older (probably related to reflexes slowing down.)I find it funny that this is even an issue here. Don't let your feelings get in the way of common sense. It's a bad look.

I didn't take it as an offense. Like I said earlier, I play MOBAs. I just don't like when people make statements that put themselves or groups of people on a pedestal. There are people from all walks of life who like all kinds of games. That's one if the great things about video games. We can have different political, ethical, social, and religious opinions, but we can still talk about games and find common ground. In this day and age, that's harder and harder to do. Let's not divide ourselves more than we already are. You're right, my bad.
In this thread I realize that if you suggest intelligent people gravitate towards different games, people get offended.
It is truly 2018, lol.
Seems to me like CoD: Battle Royale would be the obvious choice.
This is what paid "playable betas" are for.Honestly I can not see that working well. Twitch shooter players who are used to kill streaks, perks and corridor shooting with notoriously s***ty net code and then trying to transfer that to large open map battle royal format? Nah, can’t see it happening without some very creative changes and coding improvements.

What in the world does our conversation have to do with political correctness? I hate the PC crap that is prevalent today. But saying that smart people gravitate to one type of game without any proof is no different than saying something like "Stupid people buy Xbox. Smart people buy Playstation!" Or maybe if you said something like, "Xbox sold 50 times more than PlayStation in the month of July." But don't link to any kind of proof. So suggesting that intelligent people prefer different games than less intelligent people now falls under the politically correct no fly list?
Sigh...
Where my rational people at?

You're free to say whatever you want, but I am also free to point out that what you said has no proof or is just your opinion.
Yes. That is exactly what I said. That is exactly what I meant. So you expect people to link proof every time...
A. People say something that is their opinion?
B. People say something that is common sense?
I guess we just run in different circles. Cheers!
