Any Playstation MVPs in here?

I am was their MVP back in '08 and '09. Chicks lined up for days just to get a glimpse of game-winning joystick.

You'd think after spending a fortune (Must be) on their consoles since 1994 i would be part of that list! But noooo. They want somebody that has the time to organize events and sh!t

You can apply to be a Playstation MVP. You should.

Tried to follow the link to get more details but it says Link unavailable. Either way..skimming through what it takes to be an MVP, it just sounds tedious.

Maybe they will reward me in about 7 years with a PS5 for being one of the very early adopters of PS+?! Waiting that long for some appreciation sounds better to me than moderating forums and organizing stuff constantly.

Here's the application (directly from the link in the first post): http://us.playstation.com/ambassadorprogram/

I would just like to ask why would you want to be a Playstation or any gaming companies VIP? I'm not being arrogant I'm just genuinely interested. The reward's (personally) don't seem great enough. You for example got an Xbox One for free with a game but the money these players (like Yourself) must be putting in to 'said' system (PS3/Xbox 360 or those before If there was a reward scheme) in order to get in to this 'privileged' position must be astronomical. I feel for those that spend a lot and have missed out on 'said' competition but somebody like me doesn't deserve a free console let alone a game and because of this I'm not bothered. I could go out and buy one on launch and it will would still work out cheaper as over it's lifespan I'd spend up to 75% plus less then any of the sum's people have mentioned spending in other threads/forums (those that won or are in a position to do so).

First off, I'm not interested in being a Playstation MVP. The only games I've completed on my PS3 were God of War 3 and The Last of Us. It was mainly a media player in my living room.

Second, being an Xbox MVP has nothing to do with how much I spend on gaming.

Lastly, you assume I put a lot of money into gaming. This couldn't be further from the truth.

I said 'must' I didn't imply you or anyone else does spend(s) a lot on gaming ext I was going off other forums and the figures branded about by people who are also fortunate enough to have gotten a free Xbox One and or games. I used your Xbox One as an example if you refer to my original post. I don't know you from the next person who visit's a forum, so naturally I'm not going to know if you spend a lot or nothing on games or any other aspect of your life.

The original question was why would anyone want to become a MVP? I'm just genuinely interested in the topic, what's the criteria? for example.

O RLY? Here's what you ACTUALLY wrote:

Trying to spin it to mean something else makes you look like a buffoon.

Anyway, I'm proud to be an Xbox MVP because I'm passionate about the platform. The relationships I've made at Xbox and with like-minded folks has been invaluable. Additionally, we do occasionally get good perks, like being able to speak with Microsoft Xbox folks on a personal level, and attending the annual MVP Summit.

I don't know what Playstation MVPs receive, but I'd imagine it's somewhat similar.

I genuinely didn't mean to be offensive if you took it that way that's fine. The part highlighted is the information I was interested in and just as I imagined it sounds time consuming and nothing I'd be interested in from a personal stand point.

I was late to applying but hoping I get into the next wave.

I was in the Select program and still have a rare avatar, launch day buyer of the PS3 and have a rare 3 chracter username (can't make them anymore plus the combination of 3 letters went fast), been invited to every single beta since launch, spent a ton of money on PSN and almost every exclusive, favor the DS so I have to play all my shooters with it so I went through all CoD/BF's on PS, was an Underground member for years, launch day PS+ user. .etc..

But, I still haven't been convinced to buy a Vita and my trophy count hit a brick wall at level 14...
So I think my low trophy level and lack of Vita mifht screw me.
