Im about to pick up my system tomorrow morning and Im wondering if anyone out there is having some buyers remourse at this point?

Console- (with tax) 545.00
Xbox live- 60.00
one game - 65.00

$670.00 and thats only with one game and live. Ill be getting 4 games because I have to, but damn this is getting expensive. How do you justify this?

The $500 bucks will last at least 4-5 years. Very worth it if you ask me. $60 bucks for live a year, 5 bucks a month, that's nothing. $60 per game for months of entertainment, also worth it.

It's a lot upfront I guess but when you take into account how much each lasts it's definitely worth it.

The only guilt i'm having is that i didn't save up that money and pre-order so i could get an Xbox One and the games at launch. It's going to be a rough few weeks or even months before i can find and get a One. I so want to play Ryse, Forza 5, Dead Rising 3 and others.

Consider yourself lucky. If it makes you feel any better feel free to buy all that stuff and send it my way. You know i'll enjoy it. The Xbox One is well worth the purchase. It's a one time price that's going to last you 5-6 years minimum.

I feel better, thanks guys. Been a while since I spent so much on entertainment

Don't worry man. I have/will drop like $1500 in the past month on electronics. Surface 2, Lumia 925, Xbox One, Games, Extra Controller. But everything is well worth it IMO.

You forgot to mention the $1400 TV I bought to go with the console.. :)

I spent almost exactly that much (With the other console) and i did feel "guilty" but no remorse! I'll just have to suffer a bit until i get paid.

But i did get more for that money though! 6 Games in total! Dat Amazon Promotionz.

I bet there are some hilarious stories out there of people trying to justify this kind of cost to their significant other.

Indeed, then i explained it like this, probably at least 8 years till next console, x365 days a year = 2920 / 500 = .17 cents a day, didnt help AT ALL, lol

do I feel guilty, not even a little, the 360 was amazing and kept me entertained for years, the Xbox one will be the same. I'm engaged with kids and don't party or do stupid things anymore so a purchase like this once every 8years and a few games here and there is no biggie

no I spent waay more since I bought two of everything
2 consoles 5 games each plus my must have guidebooks
still thinking of getting Forza 5
so at least 2 grand

At the extortion rate we pay for the console ($675) & games ($93) in EU, we have to make very infomed choice on the games (& console) to buy. Hence I do not get any game that is not at least 8+/10 overall, unless its in the bargain bin.

Anyway, XBOX live is annual fee, so I do not see why you need to ecplain to your other half, if you alraedy paid all these year.

Just as much as an iPhone, and at least we know Ms won't come out with a new version in 2 years.

do people feel guilty to spend that much on a ipad? Think not

I felt guilty after hearing my mam tell me "you could've visited me back home!"

Then I turned it on :D

Don't feel guilty at all. Everyone has hobbies. I like gaming. I'm able to afford it and it keeps me home.

Nope. I will easily get my money's worth out of this console. As long as you can afford it, gaming is not an expensive hobby.

Try playing hockey or golf. I've spend $500 on golf clubs that I use 12 times a year. That's an expensive hobby when you look at it. There probably won't be many days where I don't play a game on X1.

not to mention greens fees, tips for the snack/drink girl, and the lawyer you need after harassing her in a drunken stupor.

I am not a lawyer, but I stayed at a Holiday Inn, and there's a very real and very actionable difference between offering her a tip and offering her your tip.

How do you like the Surface 2?

Loving it for now. Didn't had a tablet before it so really can't compare it to anything sorry. I use it at college everyday. Having all my books, word, and excel in there has really made life easier. Now with the X1 I'll have it by my side as I play. Never had the Smartglass utility since I've been out of Live for years. Coming back tonight!

I would definitely recommend it if you're in need of a tablet. It fills a need and makes life a little bit easier. Only problem I have is that Excel doesn't run VBA or Macros and in the classes I'm on I need that from time to time. I think the Surface 2 Pro does, I'm not sure. But I'm still thrilled with it.

I bought 2 PS4's and 2 Xbox One's.. already bought like 8 PS4 games at $60, will buy almost as many Xbox One games (I buy 2 copies of a lot of games because of my fiance).. 2 extra controllers for each system.

I'll easily have spent $3,000 before these systems are out 1 month.

NO REMORSE!

Hell no. I rarely spend money on myself outside of my gaming/electronics hobbies. My wife and son are as excited for the X1 as I am. My son can't stop talking about it. My wife and him went to Best Buy the other day to pick up a gift and when they got home he was balling because he thought she was going to pick up the new Xbox (he's 4). LOL.

Thanks man. I've never had a tablet so I really have no basis for comparison either.

We know one personally :D

With games, all the controllers, I spent a bit more. Plus Panny's 4K. Bills are paid, Christmas shopping next month, can't really feel guilty :D
