Played only one game but it sees fun. I had no idea what was happening at the start and couldn’t figure out how to dive with my squad so I ended up a good bit away from them trying to make it back. The TTK seems pretty big in it. After only one game I can’t tell if that’s a good or bad thing.

To dive with your squad, just let the jump master do his thing, you’ll automatically dive with him. He controls everyone in the dive, you press X to break off and dive on your own.

Played a few games tonight and I really really like it. More than I thought I would. managed to get 3 top 10 finishes as well, 3rd, 5th & 5th. I love the team oriented mechanic of it and, personally, I'm glad about the lack of solo mode. It doesn't really fit with the game. I'll definitely be playing more of this.

Yep, two games later I figured out I didn't actually need to do anything.

Well you barely played solo in a BR when it did fit the game.

I played it a bit but yeah, not even close to the amount that you played. This game though, it's designed for teamwork from what I can see. The games where I got the top10 finishes last night were always the ones with the decent squad. I was playing the Medic so i just had the drone out healing the other two all the time. I think I got three or four kills over the course of the few games. The game itself I think is very polished. the graphics are nice and I had no issue with lag (as far as i could tell). you were right as well about the 'one more game...". it was after 1am when I finally stopped doing that.

Squads is designed for teamwork, but then again, Squads in anything is teamwork based. Solo would work just fine in this game. Most of the skills still work well and are important when Solo.

Hopefully you put on your big boy trousers and get your ass on tonight. Maybe give Kev a nudge to try it squadded up.

My wife said I'm not allowed big boy trousers
It will probably be after 10 if I can get on.

Kev & Ross both have it. Kev didn't immediately bash it when I was talk to him earlier so that's a hopeful sign.

Hopeful sign indeed.

Another second place finish last night. They were already holed up in some high ground building prior to the last ring, so either there are only X amount of configurations, the ring collapses in the same way all the time... or the fact I'm a moron and didn't realize Kevin Spacey's character from Moon could scan some beacon to reveal the next location of the ring. Either way I did some good damage to the other team, then while running and attempting to slide, my guy decided to just instantly stop and crouch in the open. RIP

Also I'd have a lot more kills in this game if people actually died when they fell down. No telling how many times I've downed someone but they just get rezzed. Seems like only worth fighting someone when you're close enough to really finish someone off. Also within a week of this game I feel like I'm already falling behind everyone else. Almost every previous match champion squad is some level 30+ team with over 200 kills on a character already. Here I am with like 10 hours in the game. Hard to stay competitive in a competitive game when you only play an hour, if that, a night.

Throwing arc stars before rushing a team is a good tactic. Those things are really good.

Might seem that way but that is just one team out of 20. Most of the other folk will be roughly the same as you.

Yeah, ran across a guy last night with 1k kills. But I got him, and it was satisfying

Give me ranked mode so I can play with scrubs. Let tryhards and streamers play together.

Agreed. Hopefully if the game continues to get traction they will add that in or at least some kind of skill based match making.

I don't know how I feel about ranked play. How would you calculate it? Kills, wins?

Part of the beauty of BR games to me is the randomness of dropping with a mixture of skill levels. Some go for kills and others play passive and try to out think everyone.

I also worry about waiting for lobbies to fill with skill based matchmaking. It could work as long as the game stays very popular, but I don't think its needed.

I couldn't care less about ranked play.

I would like an overall stat page though.

So who are people’s favorite characters? I’m digging Lifeline. I also played the one can use the Void walk and she’s cool as well.

Bloodhound because I play aggressive. But I also want to play with Mirage when I unlock him.

How does his clue tracking work? When I played as the void walker you are meant to hear a voice telling you enemies are close and I heard nothing so far.

Maining Gibraltar. His ultimate comes in handy, but I always forget to use the drop shield. Just stay clear of your mortar strikes because they will mess you up!

You see the enemies footsteps and it tells you how long ago they were there. Ultimate highlights enemies in red along with their footsteps. It can see through Bangalores smoke also. Plus you move faster when its active.

When playing with friends I like using Lifeline. With randoms I’ve just tried to get a feel for all the different characters.

I move around. The two friends I've played with 99% of the time usually go with Bangalore and Bloodhound. I've spent the most time with Lifeline, Mirage, and Pathfinder.
