This movie looks really meh, to me. DC should just stop and reboot, IMO. Wonder Woman was the exception, but it's just a lost cause now.
Jason Momoa would have been a great Lobo, but I'm still just not buying him in this role. Maybe it's a good story, but I just see a bunch of nonsensical action pieces like Justice League. I didn't hate that movie, but I didn't love it either. Just kinda soulless. It just isn't the DC universe that I want, or I think it deserves. If this gets some believably good reviews, I'll see it. The trailer has not sold me, though.
He would have been a great Lobo but he's still a great Aquaman IMO, they needed someone like him to make the character cool, a cookie cutter blonde guy wasn't going to cut it IMO.
As for DC needing a reboot, I think they have had a few missteps that have cost them dearly, they need to make a few casting changes but I think a total reboot is unnecessary. If I were DC I'd do my best to keep Ben Affleck on as Batman through a few more movies, he's the best Bruce Wayne we've had in a live action film, I'd also keep Momoa as Aquaman, Fisher as Cyborg, Adams as Lois Lane and Irons as Alfred. I'm indifferent on Gadot as Wonder Woman, she's ok but she's not an amazing actress, I'd replace Cavill as Superman, he's not awful but I think there are a lot of guys out there who could do it better. I'd also replace Miller as the Flash, he's a likeable guy and a good actor but he just doesn't fit the part IMO (maybe it was the poorly written jokes that throw me off) and Eisenberg needs to be replaced ASAP as Lex, he's just terrible.
Batman v Superman wasn't bad but a few things that could have been done better would
1) The Doomsday design and CGI
2) Different actor to play Lex Luthor
3) Of course the easiest and cheapest correction would have been to change a single line from "He's going to kill Martha" to "He's going to kill my Mother" That would have made a huge difference. It would have had the same impact on Batman and it wouldn't have come across as trying so hard.
Wonder Woman is highly overrated IMO, it's not bad at all, it's a good movie but it's not this amazing life changing cinematic experience that so many made it out to be. The special effects were also pretty poor in a lot of it, nothing on the island looked real.
Justice League is pretty bad, poorly done story, very uneven visual presentation and some of the worst CGI effects I've seen in a major movie in a long time. There were some cool individual moments but it just wasn't a good movie.
I think both Aquaman and Shazam look really good and like they'll be very entertaining in very different ways.
