Ashen

Loss for words? Let me help you.

Say “I love hot Asian chick feet as much as Brian”.

Dude, the guy more than likely has an accent that’ll make one sploosh...which isn’t fair :(

*edit*

I mean, have you not seen his wife ;)

Soooooo, you’re saying the only words to come out are the accent????

Can we expect cosplay? ;)
We all know swedish isn't even a language, we just keep saying "borka, borka, geflöken nöken " in different constellations.

I'll cosplay as the man your countrymen elected to sail amerika into a greater future instead, Donald "Amerikas chosen" Trump.

OK, this game is great. The combat has real weight to it. The artistic style really suits the game as well which is one thing I wasn't sure of intitally. The way the lantern works is very well done for when you need to go into the caves and dungeons. it doesn't have weapon degradation or weight limits on what you can carry. it doesn't have ranged weapons either outside different kinds of spears that can be thrown. I haven't seen any magic in it so far yet either. I fought one Boss that was basically a shadow and it was a great given how unique the boss was designed. Loving it so far.

Game is getting stellar reviews... guess I was wrong guys. Still, prob not play it in a long time.

Just saw Gamespot gave it a 9 and they don’t easy on anyone. Great sign since they’re also well acclimated with the Souls series and compare this game to it.

I streamed for 2 game sessions and it's really awesome.

For some odd reason I am not a huge fan of dark souls series but I can dig this!

It definitely has the dark souls vibe to it but it’s no where near as punishing or as difficult as that game. You do still loose your coins and you need to retrieve them before dying a second time and you need to watch your stamina bar but you always have either an NPC or human co op player with you. The passive multiplayer is so unbelievably well done it’s completely seemless. There is no notification or lobby or any other kind of mechanism. It just flows right in with the game play. Having a constant companion in it also takes away some of the difficultly which will appeal to some players.

Yeah, I'm loving that aspect of it. Dark Souls gave me the squirts.

I really enjoy the art style too. It reminds me of an old Xbox game called Galleon for some reason

I had absolutely no interest in this game, even a sense of dread before playing. I was ready to chuck a tantrum, rage quit and uninstall at the first sign of irritation, but 3 hours or so in, and I'm ok with it. The few times I did die, I realised what I did wrong, and didn't seem cheap/deliberately annoying.

Welcome the world of dark souls. If you can play this and enjoy it, you are more than capable of playing Dark Souls without it stressing you.

Yes, also for some reason there was music playing and it felt like the old xbox game Sudeki.

The crap you have to do in dark souls to get co-op is still a joke compare to this.

I'm going to go back for some more. I have already beat the first boss and the creature you meet at the end was crazy!

need reviews before biting

Game pass is 1 dollar right now. Get it. I know your style for combat games. You’ll like this and even if you don’t it’s only 1 dollar.

More impressions, please! I have it downloaded but haven’t played it yet.

It is easier than Dark Souls. Inventory system is easy to use, Controls are fluid. You have a helper. Lots of items to pick up, you need to look around. It’s fun so far.

Games Radar 4/5 - ASHEN IS A DARK SOULS CLONE - BUT IT'S A REALLY GOOD DARK SOULS CLONE

Gamespot 9/10 - Telling a story of the cyclical nature of light and dark and possessing both stamina-focused combat and larger-than-life bosses, Ashen is easy to compare to From Software's Dark Souls. However, Ashen establishes its own identity by delivering an experience that focuses on creating a sense of community and trust with those you meet. The weapon system can occasionally take away from some of the more strategic elements of the game's combat when playing solo, but Ashen still delivers an incredible adventure, regardless if you play by yourself or with others.

EuroGamer Recomended - Ashen is about exploring and cleansing a newly radiant world, but it's often at its best in the dark. A few hours into this derivative but engrossing third-person RPG

Game is free with Xbox gamepass & €39.33 (not sure rate in US$) at Epic store. Seems interesting.
