Assassin’s Creed III Remastered Coming To PC, PS4 And Xbox One

Ubisoft has announced that, as part of a meaty season pass for Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, Assassin’s Creed III is getting a remaster treatment for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

Assassin's Creed III Remastered includes all of Assassin's Creed III's post-launch content, meaning the Benedict Arnold missions, the Hidden Secrets Pack, and The Tyranny of King Washington – as well as Assassin's Creed Liberation Remastered.

Both Remastered editions support 4K and HDR on PS4 Pro, Xbox One X, and PC, as well higher-resolution textures, an improved lighting rendering system, and “other graphical improvements.” “Gameplay mechanics” and “ergonomics” are also getting revamped.

I'm interested in the historical setting, but I never got around to playing the game. I remember some mixed impressions, but it got 84 on Metacritic, so it can't be that bad. Liberation is included in the remaster, too, but it only got a 70, so it's probably not great.

This is how all season passes should be.

Yeah, it's nice and beefy. I need to wait and see whether I like the main game first, but if I do, I'll get the Season Pass. Never got one of those before.

I'd be all over it if I had the internet capability to do so. ACIII was probably my favorite n the series, except for the terrible beginning.

AC3 is pretty good, only thing that's bad is connor, honestly if they'd kept Haytham it would've been better. Also this game was the one that started to go all out on s***ty collectibles. Best fighting in the series yet imo, black flag was a step back and origins is worse except bow, which is a great mechanic.

I have ACIII 360 version digitally on my X just haven’t ever got around to playing it. The games setting has had me interested in trying it.

I really liked 3 as well. One of my favorites. I liked Connor too, though he was a tad Stoic. Fit's an Assassin though, and I liked the Father/son dynamic. Was cool.

It also had a 3d mode if you had a 3d tv. I loved that as well as the 3d mode for Halo CE remastered. I really wish they'd support it more (at all)...

Yeah, it was cool to have the historic battles as backdrops. 3 and Unity were the only ACs that really felt like historically significant events were going on. ( I really enjoyed encountering Napoleon in Unity, as well as Franklin and Washington in AC III).

Origins so far hasn't done that for me- even though I have met Cleopatra, it was pretty subdued. I'm hoping I do eventually get to take part in a big battle, but the more contemporary settings feel so close to home (for obvious reasons).

Origins and 3 are the only Assassins Creed games I liked. Loved both protagonists.

I like most all of the AC games and I know I'm in the minority but I really liked Connor and I wish we had gotten more content with him. The whole native American storyline was a nice change up from where the series had been, it also introduced some things that the series hadn't done before. I do wonder what they mean by improved gameplay mechanics, if it's something more like what we have now I'd be all for it.

My Favorite Protags are Bayek (#1), Arno, and Connor. I don't even really remember much of the others other than Ezio being cocky. I did like Desmond, too.

Ezio was great, especially in the first two games he was in but yeah Bayek is awesome and I really liked Connor a lot as well. I don't remember a lot about Arno, I have to go back and finish that game, it's one of only two AC I haven't finished because it was so buggy and sluggish on consoles. I have it on the One X so hopefully that helps it run better and makes it more enjoyable. I'm sure I'll get to it early next year. I also have to finish the AC Rogue, I really like what I've played of it so far but other games came out and I haven't finished it yet.

Anyone taking bets on the Remaster being nothing more than a Res upgrade?

Sounds about right. They're sticking it in as part of a Season Pass for Odyssey, which is already pretty loaded (e.g., two big expansions). They don't seem to be giving it much separate attention or publicity. I'm sure it'll be released separately, but they aren't exactly trumpeting it from the rooftops. The article author had to notice the mention of it within the Season Pass announcement, then pull it out of there. The fact that they aren't highlighting it suggests it's not a big deal.

I bet it would still be pretty good @4k. ACIII is where they really started pushing the crowd tech. The large battles were pretty awesome...

I liked AC3 along with Black Flag. Hell I liked Syndicate. The Jack the Ripper dlc in Syndicate was great!

Doing that season pass justice. AC3 was good. Never understood why some people didn't care for it. I guess that's when the series started getting stale for some though.

Didn't it have alot of issues at launch? For some reason I set to remember that.
