Nothing about this AC game make sense. But I am not a AC fan.....so what do I know.

Why not just made a proper Ninja game....From what I know (correct me)

Ninja is ALREADY an assassin, so why not just have Ninja, minus the stupid AC costume.
Also I heard they are gender swaping Ninja. I did a quick research. Apparently teher are female "Ninja" called Kononichi, which while tarined in traditionl Ninja skill, there role was taling advantages of being female.

Kunoichi could use their gender to their advantage because women were underestimated as warriors. This made it easier for them to get closer to their targets by posing as maids, geisha, servants and priestesses.

If this is the route the game is taking where you role play as maids or geisha to inflirate enemy territory, I am all for it. I highly doubt so......

But well, at least you can play as a male japanese Ninja for historical accurate immersion. You can right?

There will be two protagonists - the African American samurai and female ninja / samurai.

Maybe there is a shop in the game where you can cut off the wiener of the African American Samurai and it will be a Trans Samurai?

Wait, there are AA samurais in Japan? I thought were samurai's were Japanese? Are there Japanese African Americans?

Opened twitter, saw a tweet about afrikan samurai protagonist... not going to delve deeper and look for a source, but lol ubisoft.

But hey, they at least gave me a nordic viking.

I want a hot ginger samurai!, and where is my curry loving Indian beer tummy ninja!!

Imo, it’s fine to make frictional( or romanticalise) chars in game and tv, as long as people know it’s friction not historically accurate.

I mean Tom cruise and kennu Reeve can be a samurai, why not African or hot redhead.

At min, the African samurai Asuaka was an actual person that served during nobugawa era ( from memory) . The part where he was an actual samurai was contested though .

I think as long as people know chars are highly romanticized/altered and not historically accurate. It’s fine.

Whether he was a real samurai or a slave turned weapon bearer for a year seems to be debatable (I'm not going to look this up since that's not what's bothering me), but to make an AC game set in feudal Japan and NOT have a Japanese samurai seems... racist?
What if they made a game about the Mali Empire and have you play as a white European? I'm sure you could find some historical white man with semi status there... would that be possible to do? Also, the two less likely (and debatabley non existent) people to historically be able to become a samurai is chosen?
I'm clearly not of this new progressively western mind.

This feels extremely forced and virtue signaling deluxe...

I don’t personally care but I do find it funny that a perfect opportunity to have a mainstream Western game with a Japanese main character and they… just couldn’t help themselves, could they?

I’m actually very excited for this though, lol.
