Backwards Compatibility

Y'know.. OG games footprints are only 64MBs . It would be sweet if they could fit them in the app wrapper like Phantom Dust and play games while playing other games.

I feel like Fable has a place in games now more than ever. A real action/RPG experience with a minimal time investment.

So does the Dreamcast collection work seeing as the games on it do?

Edit. Yes it does! Shame crazy taxi has a crap soundtrack in this version

Yeah boi. Finally some Fable on Xbox One. Don't care how it happened, it just needed to happen.

Xbox One's Original Xbox Backwards Compatibility Is Still Coming In 2017

Phil Spencer also teases something related to Xbox One X.

One of the pleasant surprises Microsoft had in store for E3 this year was the announcement of Xbox One backwards compatibility support for original Xbox games. At the Brazil Game Show, we caught up with Xbox boss Phil Spencer, who provided some insight into where things stand with the upcoming feature.

"We're close, we're really close," Spencer said when asked for the status of Xbox backwards compatibility. "I have a little dashboard I go to and I can see all the games [and] where they are in getting approvals in the pipeline. I know the games that are coming for the original Xbox but I don't think we've announced them all. We have to do this in partnership with partners, but we're still on track. I feel really good. The games look great."

Spencer also remains confident that the feature will be out before the end of the year, as planned. "Oh yeah," he said about his certainty of a 2017 launch. He also teased that there are still details about backwards compatibility will work on Xbox One X that have yet to be revealed: "There's some stuff we're going to talk about in that space in terms of how compatibility's going to work on [Xbox One] X specifically that I think people will find pretty interesting.

"Some of the games hold up really well; some of them don't. But the gameplay mechanics and the smile [you got] on your face 15 years ago playing those games, those are things that are still there. I see it, like getting back to playing Crimson Skies, [it's] fantastic, and the game actually looks really good even though it's obviously been around."

Spencer mentioning Crimson Skies is expected, as it's only one of two games--along with Fuzion Frenzy--that have been confirmed as part of the program. "We have multiple games up and running--we just decided to tease the first one," Microsoft executive Dave McCarthy explained about Microsoft's E3 reveal of the first two games. "There will be a library of games available, for sure." However, you shouldn't expect the library to be as big as that of Xbox 360 backwards compatible games.

For lots more on our conversation with Spencer, see the stories linked below, and come back soon to check out the full Q&A.

LOL...I didn't even check. Assumed it was $19.99. Did they really increase the price to $40 around/after b/c was announced? If yes, that is taking a big piss on the fans....shame on you MS. I'll wait for a $9.99 or under sale.

Not sure about MS doing it but Amazon and so on always rise prices of games that get made BC

CoE comes up with a little error message of you pick the Kinect option saying only Xbox one games can work with its Kinect.

I'd love the max payne games. I could and did replay those endlessly. Pretty good chance for MP2 as it released on PS4 recently.

I'm gonna bet as well...OG Xbox and 360 games will be native 4k on Xbox One X

The only games I want are mostly multiplayer. Now I am talking OG Xbox. Ghost Recon Summit Strike, Rainbow Six Black Arrow, and similar.

For 360 all I needed was Alan Wake.

I wish they would bring one of the Fight Night games to BC. I have Fight Night Champions (I think its called) digital on 360.

Man if I could play Chaos Theory Spies vs Mercs on my Xbox again, I'd be in video game 7th heaven. Spies vs Mercs on Blacklist after Chaos Theory lost all of its tension and became too arcady and fast paced.

Double Agent on the original Xbox was just as good IMO but the Xbox 360/PS3 version was a let down and Conviction sucked.

That mode was a lot of fun back then. That game in general was one of the best at the time.

I think 11 years ago i played Splinter Cell, Pandora Tomorrow and Chaos Theory on 360 BC in the 2 weeks leading up to Double Agent. So good.

Splinter Cell Chaos Theory is one of my top 3 of all time. The single player and the multiplayer were just both soooooo good.
