Battlefield hardline = turd blossom

I thought turd blossom referred to a game that started as a turd, and then through patches and dlc, turned into something worthwhile. Ala DriveClub, Warframe etc...

I think it also refers to the piece of turd blossoming on a dogs furry ass. Like a dingleberry, lol

This is not a true statement.
I have both games and see tons of players playing both. Besides its a very stupid comparison comparing a almost 3 year old games player count to a game that's less then 6 months old player count lol

actually, the younger the game, usually means the more players. Right now, there are like over 100k people playing bf4, and less than 34k people playing bf hardline.

As a longtime BF fan (I go back to the 1942 beta on PC), I hated the beta. It was on sale though later on for $30 and I had a gift certificate on top of that so I got it.

Honestly it has flaws but I enjoyed it as a "break" from the more vehicle heavy BF3/4 games. I'm not going to try to tell anyone that it was great or anything, but I easily got my $30 worth out of it. Basically I paid expansion pack prices which is what this should have been anyway. Being more infantry focused and not so heavy on tanks and huge attack choppers and such was fun.

Another big thing for me was you can solo in this game with randoms more easily. In BF4 if you have a bad team that loses the vehicles you are done. BF4 + console randoms = not fun.

I wouldn't want the series to go this way, but I had fun with it. It just should have been dlc/expansion pack.

Yeah, don't get me wrong, it has the potential to be a game that I really like. I love the map designs, love the recoil on guns and how different weapons....fee different.
I just despise how sniper heavy the game is. I don't want to be told that I need to play just certain guns, because I'm then being pigeon holed into a certain play style, which is limiting. In the end, it makes the mp portion of the game, no more than a sniper/camper hunt.

It's not enough to keep me from playing, I do like the maps and the concept, and it's different enough that it doesn't feel like a bf4 dlc, my main gripe really is the amount of snipers in game, on both sides. Enemy side doing nothing but sniping, friendlies doing sniping, not many people really pushing forward. That's not the intent of an objective based game, and that doesn't make it "competitive".

Spent $120 on this game. Deleted it within the first month.

My first and hopefully last failure on the XBOX One/PS4 cycle.

When you spawn in a wide open space and have 20 quick scoping snipers aiming at you, that doesn't make the game competitive. All it does is force you into a camp/sniper play style as well.
And that's different from BF4 how? That's all that Bf4 was for me. Camp city. It was the only BF game I played and the last. The whole open design of the levels is designed for snipers and campers.

I checked out the beta for I believe one match before deleting it. Pure garbage.

Sniping in BF4 is not as easy, and in game, it's apparent. You don't have nearly the amount of snipers as in BF:H. In BF4, you have a healthy mix of all classes, they drop med packs, ammo packs, etc. In BF:H, it's more every man for himself.

So no, it's not so much about the maps being "open", but rather, how easy they made snipers on console. Snipers shouldn't be able to use the weapon like the ultimate assault rifle.

I actually played almost entirely conquest. People said that it was the worst mode in the game but I enjoyed it. The maps were too small and the action was too fast for excessive camping/sniping.

Also it has a sledgehammer. Who doesn't want to run around with a sledgehammer and a gun? I took out so many people camping somewhere by knocking down a wall or knocking out a window.

As for sniping/not pushing forward? It is no worse in BF4 for me, at least on console. Not sure if you play on PC. PC players always seem to "get" the BF games better.

That's always been the problem with the entire series since day 1. The amount of fun is up to your teammates and opponents. I remember back in BF1942 on Omaha Beach where every attacker would be sniping from the boats. The attacking team would never even get the first flag. Some snipers are great and actually help support the attack or defense, but others just go off and pad their kill count and ignore objectives. Always been that way unfortunately and I didn't see it any worse in Hardline, but again I stuck with CQ. I actually always try to avoid game modes other than conquest.

No, I don't play on pc....I suck on pc. Lol

I get what you mean about the problem with the series. It sucks, sometimes you get in good teams that know how to play the game, then others that just play to rack up kills.

I also avoided Hardline but still play a lot of BF4, Dom, Conquest and obliteration are still a blast.
For the COD crowd there are Operation Metro 24/7 servers where practically everybody uses C4, Airblast and tubes to make them feel right at home.

Sounds like you need better team mates

I tried Hardline and enjoyed it at first. Then I went back to BF4 and it is so much better that I ditched Hardline immediately.

Sniping is much easier in bf4 then bfh as the ttk with snipers is much faster in bf4.
The TTK with Snipers/DMRs is my major gripe with bfh.
I kill people much faster with smg's in bfh then them and that sux.

How much have you played it?

Not a ton, I literally just got it on Friday. I'm enjoying it for what it's worth, like I said, I like the maps, concept, etc....just not crazy about how many people play the sniper class. I'm holding my own against them, I have a decent kdr, accuracy, etc, just would like others to play as intended a bit more.

I will say, that today I played a couple of rounds, and I got lucky in a good server with people playing the objective.

Sounds like you should have got the PS4 version. I heard Battlefield: Hardline was broken on the PC.

I just heard it's a huge turd and no one plays it on PC. Plus that it's a 60 dollar BF4 expansion.

It never used to be, as the maps were a little smaller, but maybe the community is dying out leaving only people like this.

The last time I played most of the combat was up close, although since there's fewer vehicles you run around a lot more leaving you vulnerable. You just have to zig zag a bit and usually you are fine.

Plus the sledgehammer made it harder to camp. Camp inside and I'm going to go all Kool-Aid Man on your a**! Oh yeah!
