Battlefield V

JackFrags Interview with dev. Great info, and good questions from Jack

lol, You can catch grenades mid-air and throw them back XD

I really hope you don't get hit markers if killing people through walls. Right now, they it's in, but is being looked at.

On dolphin diving, if they just require climbing to your feet after diving and an accuracy degridation for a moment, then that should mitigate abuse. At the least it should adhere to a natural movement and appropriate time.

I thought the trailer looked too good to be true and sadly it is, just in engine vs actual gameplay. Kinda slimy that they put a hud over it to look like it was the game. Clearly it couldn't be with the stuff that was going on but still I don't like that way of debuting a game, just be up front that it's not gameplay and let us know when we can actually see it.

I'm not too bothered given what they achieved in BF1. The level of action was obviously scripted, but the Jackfrags inressions and interviews warrant consideration, imo.

I just think throwing a HUD up on it to try to make it look like it was in game without a disclaimer was wrong.

It is. Not sure why they chose to do that. If anything it would just come back to bite them once they do their live multiplayer stream around E3. Everybody screaming 'downgrade' etc.

I don't trust these youtube personalities. I don't remember any of those fools speaking word one for battlefront 2. "it'll be fine it's not pay to win" then the game comes out, THEN they get on the soap box like they were always there.

I wait now. I put everything from EA under a microscope.

In any event the multiplayer changes sound very interesting and quite a nice spin in a few ways. Plus I never hate customizing my character.
I'm such a hipster though, if I learn about some royale mode, it'll make my already low interest plummet even further. Don't like those modes getting jammed in my games.

I just finished watching band of brothers all the way through and I'm leaning a bit in the same way as others here. The trailer looked like random bombastic nonsense. A developer said they prefer fun over authenticity, and I really don't see why they can't have both. I wouldn't take it as far as saying it's an insult to history or anything similar, just that it's not what I would want from a game depicting the era. It's strange to think the first medal of honor is the more faithful in all this time.

Not to bring too much hate in here. Just bummed at the setting. I wanted my helicopters back, but good thing bf4 is still quite active.

Youtube personalities are no better than gaming media sites, it is all about keeping that viewer base, likes, subs, follows and overall views. It is all about money.

With RDR 2 releasing only weeks after BF5, I am waiting till Black Friday before buying BF5 anyway.

Yep, plus they want to keep the access they have. If you are too hard on a company they'll likely stop giving you access to their product early, without that you are just like everyone else.

I have known for years now that debut trailers are never actual gameplay graphics. I will continue to know this forever.

How does that work? Is it like For Honour where DLC is free for all but those who pay get it a week or two earlier?
Not sure about early access, but it was just straight up free maps and modes (at least the coop one). Then they sold skins for troops and the Titans outside of that. Personally if we're getting free content after day one I'm more willing to drop a few bucks here and there on skins, although I guess it makes a little more sense on a Titan than a regular soldier.

Yeah they said they aren't doing loot boxes, but that doesn't mean there won't be direct microtransactions. They are just taking the random/gambling aspect of it and just letting people buy what they want.

As long as they only sell cosmetics and don't touch pay to win, it should work great. Some people don't mind paying for cosmetics as long as they know what they are buying (instead of putting luck into it).

Pretty sure they said cosmetics only.

Given how the progressions system has changed, I doubt they will be selling those class unlock packs.

Sounds like only British vs Germany when the game launches, with about 7 maps confirmed. lol games as a service

Battlefield has always, as far as I can recall, launched with 9 maps. So I think there will be 9 her at launch too.

I'm mainly disappointed with factions only being two. If the game doesn't sell well or if they aren't selling great with transactions, how much time and effort will they really put into the game? I don't have any faith in EA to not be worried.

It will sell well. I wouldn't be surprised if it sold more than BF1.

As for factions, eh. Doesn't mean much to me, but I'm sure they will follow a similar thing they did in BF1 and do nation themed DLC.

EA did a halfway decent job supporting SW BF2 even with all the negativity and poor sales. They are backing away from it now, but it sold terribly and honestly I can't blame them.

This game should sell great seeing as there should be zero drama with microtransactions. I haven't checked in awhile, but I bet people are still playing BF4 and I know there are people in BF1 on all platforms.

BF1 still has a ton of players on the XB. If BF5 plays as good as BF1 I'll be more than happy.

Bf1 is still pumping even on the australian servers on Xbox which is very surprising. Still love bf1 the community has been great for a while after the whiners left now it's just people playing the objective having fun. Those ace pilots and snipers can be a pain though.
