In the past, Stan Lee has made reference to a Black Panther movie being in the works several times. However, his latest comments seem to indicate that things are finally drawing closer with the movie.

While talking about superheroes of various ethnic origins to Larry King on Ora TV, Lee touched on Black Panther. “We have a black one, Marvel has, called the Black Panther,” said Lee. “Which will be a movie pretty soon.”

Lee added, “Normally, when I would sit down to write about a superhero, I would think of a normal American one, because I’m American and I’m surrounded by [Americans] in this country. But lately I’ve been thinking, we’ve got to be more worldwide. So we’re starting with a Chinese, Indian, Latino, and then we’ll keep going.”

Of course, Lee is talking about new heroes he is creating through his Pow! Entertainment banner rather than through Marvel Comics. However, recent casting reports and filming locations revealed for Avengers: Age Of Ultron tend to suggest that Marvel Studios is likely heading in the same worldwide direction.

In fact, a recent report indicated that South Africa would be one of the filming locations for Avengers: Age of Ultron. Of course, Black Panther’s homeland is the fictional African nation of Wakanda, so Lee might know what he’s talking about in regards to a Black Panther movie being on the way pretty soon.

Wonder who will be the perfect role for Black Panther. He has to be well-built for that role!

EDIT: I seriously hope this movie is not on the same date as Superman VS Batman film! Marvel's untitled movie is yet to be revealed.

Seems like Morris Chestnut is in the running, or wants to be.

I vote "no" because his name is too funny, plus he's 45 or something, so they couldn't sign him up for a long series of movies. Then again, Marvel seems to think all black folk look the same, since they seemed to think skinny, dark-skinned Don Cheadle was close enough to heavy-set light-skinned, pale eyed Terrence Howard that no one would care, so maybe they would just recast him like James Bond after 5 or 10 years.

I'd rather see them go with an unknown. I kind of like the guy who played Chris Partlow on The Wire. I don't know how good he would be at action, but he would make a convincing African (I think he was African-born, as opposed to African American) and I think he has quite a screen presence. Something about him has the kind of quiet confidence that T'challa has too.

Was never a big Black Panther fan. If they are going to have Storm in it then I must know who they are going with. I mean Halle Berry is hot but I'm guessing they would get someone else to play Storm? Could they even use Storm since she's with Fox now?

Pretty excited at the prospect of a Black Panther movie.
Seems like the obvious when you consider the current runs and Avengers tie-ins, Infinity arc etc.

Wakanda brought to the big screen would be amaaaaazing as well.

Nomnom.

Do you think theyll be using any CGI?

Man, I'm 43, and there is just no other period in my life where movies have been as cool as they are right now! What Marvel and Lucasfilm have been bringing is pure gold! Disney has managed to let both universes stay so true to form and keep up the quality. It's really a new golden age for Disney films and those properties. They have been showing the world how these connected universes work for years now, with no stopping in sight! Nothing else has come close!

The new trailer is ridiculous.. I love it!! I'm hoping a new character will be introduced in this movie that we haven't seen yet in the MCU. Like, if Eden or Spectrum popped up near the end I would lose it.

I'm one of the few who hates most of the Marvel movies. Don't really expect this to be different but I'll give it a shot.

Let me guess. You a DC movie fan?
I just tend to like DCs characters more. But I liked the original Iron Man and I enjoyed the first Avengers movie.

Marvel movies just tend to be comedy overload for me.

I do feel sorry for the first white reviewer to give this movie a bad review.

Oh you can pretty much guarantee 15 extra rotten tomato points are getting tacked on to this one.

While I do agree that a reviewer that doesn't like this would be really sticking their toes in the fire Ryan Coogler has 2 movies before this one and they are 94 and 95% so Black Panther ending in the 90s makes sense.

I think it looks awesome but I'm sure it'll have problems like all Marvel movies. I know I'm going to watch it but I don't expect any honesty from reviewers on this one.
