Some reports of Switches getting a blue screen of death on the tablet

This user was told by Nintendo that its dead and they should contact the seller

I never buy extended warranties but when I was at Best Buy last night the gal mentioned about this being carried around and it covers drops so for $50 for 2 years I went with it.

Always something. Sure this is like the phantom blue light of death on the PS4 at launch. A rare case but still happens.

I went ahead and got the $30 one year GS warranty just to be safe. But so far so good with my Switch.

System getting absolutely killed in forums regarding build quality, scratches, dead systems, dead pixels, poor wireless joycon connection and a cheap plastic dock that has stopping shipping. Looks like Ninty put a hold on further dock sales.

For any of you getting a Switch, I'd buy it from Costco. Video game hardware is not part of their 90 day electronics warranty. The 90 day goes for big stuff like TVs, computers and such.

Therefore, gaming hardware should have an indefinite return policy.

Just make sure if the system is messed up and needs a return/refund, make sure to sign out. If you don't and try to sign into a new system while your other system has your account active/tied to it, you can't recoup your gamer profile on the new system.

That's kinda shocking actually. Usually Nintendo hardware is rock solid or with minor not game breaking defects.

IMO, it's due to Ninty trying to jam fancy features at a low price. Specs wise, there's nothing special about it, but when you look at the whole package... docking station, joycons, that grey middle grip piece, and a barren OS, there's bound to be issues.

Not surprisingly, I haven't read one post yet saying Switch's pro controller has issues. By the looks of it, the pro controller (which is a standard game pad) works fine.

I've not had any issues with my system (yet), no scratches, no blue screens, no overheating, no left joycon becoming disconnected not a thing.

A lot of the times you can get a dud unit or two, even a dud batch and people go nuts over it and create this poor H/W or S/W frenzy, a lot of noise over some defect units I think.

Nintendo tend to release the better hardware in this area with a very small failure rate.

But all 3 have done good with their latest hardware tho be fair.

Well Nintendo has always had the most reliable hardware. Outside of having to blow into carts on the NES but that was a long time ago. My issue was with that cheap ass plastic they used to encase the Wii and Wii U.

No problems here either. I even had a niece drop it on my hardwood floors, it's fine.

I just realized that by the way I worded that sentence I made it sound like I instructed my niece to drop my Switch on my hardwood floors.

I can confirm that she did it accidentally.

Is anyone here?.....,,,,

Sections rather dead again but might pick up once the switch gets some games
