So this game is releasing soon on retail (september 4th). it's a point and click adventure / puzzler and it looks pretty good. very nice art style

anyone tried it's earlier installments? worth getting?

Love the BS series so will be getting this. A re release of the other 4 would be welcome.
 
You should be alright but it might have some references/jokes aimed at long time players.

Worth picking up if you like these sort of games as they are very good,

yeah it looks very good. good to see consoles getting more games like this
 
You can buy the first two for phones as well... Well unless you have a WP :(
 
Played it on PC a year ago. Its decent.

The Dark eye: Chain of Satinav & its seqeal, Memoria. Well worth the time.

I love Memoria. My favorite next to Deponia. I still want to play The Longest Journey games. And I never realized they came out with a fifth installment of Broken Sword. And I'm so glad pc indie games are slowly finding a home too on next gen consoles.

dreamfall: the longest journey is ace. the new installment Dreamfall chapters is currently releasing periodically now on pc and should be coming to consoles soon. i wonder if theres any update on that release actually i havent heard much about it recently

The original longest journey was one of the best adventure game of all time. I never play any of the sequel though.

Edit: I checked the price of dreamfall on steam & it cost 20€! Come on a game from 2006.....

by the way, do you need to play Dreamfall before playing Dreamfall chapters?

I haven't either. The last I heard, Dreamfall Chapters was slated to come to PS4 in November, but that was 6 months ago. I wouldn't be surprised if it's 2016. I didn't hear a release date for an X1 version.

(edit: just saw their facebook page, where someone asked when the PS4 version is coming, and they respond, "We're still working on it. It's taken much longer than expected, but it's coming. We'll post a dev blog in the near future!")

I'd love to play it. Dreamfall: Longest Journey (2nd game) was one of my favorite original Xbox games. I never played the original PC game.

I don't think you have to. It may help, though, because Zoe, the protagonist from the second game (Dreamfall: Longest Journey) is also the main character in Dreamfall Chapters.

I bought a ton of point-n-click games on this summer's Steam sale because I've missed like the last 20 years of PC gaming and finally got a couple respectable rigs. I have Broken Sword on my wishlist but I have like 12 games to get through so I've been a little reluctant to add it yet.

I am finding I still prefer to game on my consoles so I am definitely interested in buying this. Anyone heard how it will be priced?

Yikes, if it was BS 1-5 for that price, sure. BS5 has been as low as $4.99 on Steam.

thats good to know. looking at the wikipedia only 3 out of the 5 episodes have been released (latest release june 25th). going on the assumption that the ps4 version will release , at minimum, a month or two after all the pc episodes are finished, and that the pc episodes are releasing at least 3 months apart... yeah, i would guess this will see a feb/march 2016 console release at best

they could do an episodic release on console too, but in that case you would expect the first episode to be released by now (it released october 2014 on pc..), so thats unlikely i think
