Fraghero can confirm that the next Call of Duty title is indeed going to be Call of Duty: Ghosts 2.

After months of rumors and speculation including a possible leak by gaming magazine Games TM, Fraghero is now able to confirm from multiple sources (primarily a gaming industry executive) that the next Call of Duty title is going to be Call of Duty: Ghosts 2.

Call of Duty: Ghosts 2 In Development
Developed by Infinity Ward, the game is going to be a direct sequel to Call of Duty: Ghosts that came out back in 2013. At this point we do not have specific details regarding the plot of the game, gameplay elements, or substantive changes it might feature, but we do know a few things.

For starters, the game is going to undergo a “tremendous” visual overhaul and will look “a lot better” than the previous Ghosts game. Riley, the fan-favorite German Shepherd, is also going to make a return as a playable character. The story of the game will be a continuation of the original game’s plot.

An announcement isn’t far off either as Activision is planning to do an official reveal before E3. You’ll get the first proper look (including a gameplay demo) during E3 this year.

The game is going to be released in November which is in line with the usual Call of Duty release schedule for the publisher. It is going to be released on PS4, Xbox One and PC. It is unclear if the PC version will be releasing simultaneously with the console versions at a later date.

We’ll update this story as soon as we receive more tips and ultimately when Activision makes the official announcement.
 
So another modern/slightly future shooter? No thanks. Bo3 is the first COD I have ever skipped and I'm still burnt out on the whole future tech thing.

COD:AW was my first CoD, and then I played Ghosts.

I really enjoyed the single player campaigns, and was amazed by the production values.

I don't give a s*** about online play, so that wont effect me.

Take a year off. Come back refreshed. They're not bad games.

I think BO III is pretty good, but going forward no more modern-ish CoDs for me. I'm done. Still the best shooter to me, but boring. I'll wait for a CoD WW2 style game. Or if it's good and crazy enough, a CoD modern game for next gen system in 2020.

It's too bad WaW didn't sell as good as CoD 4.

I understand that was the time WW games were still around, but it seemed like no turning back for devs as soon as they realized modern war games were the rage. Aside from a handful of indie style WW games, I don't see any big dev going back to a WW game..... unless that BF rumour is true about WW1.

We know little to nothing about Infinity Ward's upcoming Call of Duty title for this year, but a credible source reached out to us speculating over some details with the new title.

According to this source, there is a possibility that we could be seeing some sort of pre-order bonus content. What we may see in this bonus content is not yet confirmed, but our source tells us we may see Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.

Previous game titles as a pre-order bonus is not new to us.

I love CoD...but I think I'm done. I'm feeling CoD fatigue and haven't played in some time.
 
It would be pretty comical if they give COD 4 away with preorders when the game is filled with modders

I'd be willing to accept a one month ban if I'm wrong, from the moment the next game is announced. You?

You sure seem to think you know, titling threads "Next COD Will Be Ghosts 2" and talking about what Ghosts 2 would include openly in this thread.

Oh no, i hope not. This might be the first year i don't say Call of Duty is the pinnacle of first person shooters. Ghosts 2? I mean, it could be good.. but why not do something else knowing Ghosts wasn't very well received?
