Call Of Duty: WWII

Picked this up this weekend and already regret it. Lag, host migrations, and random connection issues make this mostly unplayable.

Sucks some of you having trouble. My game log says I've played about 50 games and I've had 2 issues...... one host migration (successful), and one game that did bomb out (can't connect to server pop up box). Other 48 games were fine.

I haven't had any issues. My son plays it most of the time since I'm more of a Battlefield player but I have yet to see him any issues.

I'm solo. People are just warping all over the place. It is worse than MW3 which was by far the worst connecting game. You go to aim at someone and they simply aren't there by the time the sights come up. Had a guy warp like 6 feet to one side while I shot him.

It is like I'm smooth and every shot at me lands while my target is bouncing all over the place.

I played online team deathmatch again yesterday, and still no issues. Working flawless, no lag and no host migration. Finally started the campaign though, which I am enjoying. I kinda miss the auto regen, but meh, first aid kits are fine too.

I saw on their Twitter the dedicated servers are back up in the US. Will play some more this week. Some of you having no issues are lucky lol.

So weird when some people have issues and some don't. Must be a server issue on a regional basis.

i was forever yellow bar last night with multiple host migrations...

COD is back but so are the online problems

I live in SE Texas and the group of friends I play with live in North Texas, Florida, Maryland, and Virginia. We’ve all been experiencing problems.

I'm in Buffalo and usually we're pretty well located with major metro areas all around us (Toronto, NYC, Philly, Pitt, Cleveland, Detroit, etc).

It shouldn't be a regional issue for me. What it usually comes down to is lag compensation and/or matchmaking. We can't easily tell where people are from and who we're actually getting matched with. Games like GT Sport will show a flag for what region people are from (not always a great indication where they are, but still useful) and I'm shocked how many people I play against from South America. I'm actually 1500 miles closer to Europe than Brazil, yet the matchmaking puts me in those lobbies sometimes.

This happens in games where skill based matchmaking takes precedence over connection. Destiny 1 did this too.

I have no clue how WW2 works in regard to this. Nobody uses mics so you never can even tell from language.

(Of course distance doesn't technically matter for lag and latency, but essentially it is a decent measure for it - networking should never, ever jump between continents)

Either it is that or it is punishing people with good connections with lag comp. They have definitely done this in the past. In many games now, the poor connections get better lag comp, so purposely steaming netflix in the background can actually help. I haven't tested this but have seen it work in other games.

Played some COD WW2 last night. The MP is finally running better. I had no problems last night playing with a group of friends. We had a blast.

Played last night too, and no issues as usual. Well, I did have some issues as usual, but it wasn't connections. It was a K/D ratio of .50. As usual.

Woke up early this morning and played solo for a couple hours and the game ran great. I started and completed the order for win a match in all 9 modes.

Soon as some friends got on and we partied up started having problems after that. Lag, black screen when leader backs out, menus not loading between matches.

So pretty much if you play solo game runs great. Just problems when you run a group.

Have only played a few hours so far but i like it. They finally release a good Call of Duty game and i decide to play other games, go figure. Oh well, got all winter to play the pinnacle.

Anyone having issues getting friends into parties? A friend and me always partied up and played together until Monday. Now when we invite each other to a party we just get error messages, anyone else having this issue ?

Yes it happens at random times. Only fix that I know Of is everyone in the group has to restart the entire game from the dashboard.

Just finished the main story line, and it really hit me...

Why can't I have a bum-chin like the main dude?

The rest of the game was ok. I was expecting more, but it was ok. The brother aspect was a bit meh. They could have made the game a bit easier on the eyes, like making Normandy a bit more tropical, maybe throw in some nice birds, a palm tree or two.

Double XP till Monday. Hard to play regular sometimes because these guys are just bullet sponges. I hit people all the time and they just done die. Then they kill me in just a couple shots. Frustrating.

Another thing I’ve noticed, a lot of people use the BAR.

The QTE in the campaign is stupid and shouldn't be in the game.

Starting running this Enigma II shotgun on regular Dom after struggling this morning. I’ve been going way positive ever since. Gun is a beast.

My connection feels better since they did whatever they did. Only played a few games but things felt better. I got wrecked a few rounds, but that was running into a good, organized team and me being horribly out of practice in this game.

One thing I hate about this game is the spawn system. It is very easy to spawn kill people. You can literally be in their spawn and it will not flip. A couple maps are spawn killing paradise.

Got it from GameFly. Same old same ol. People go 4-18 one game then 20-4 the next. It’s a tiny bit better lag comp wise, but to still easily evident it’s there, bigly.

Oh look, double XP weekend and servers are down Sunday night.

The only pluses I can say about this game is no aerial acrobats and the perk system is decent. Everything else.....

Well now they have random people in HQ. For some reason it will not let me talk to a guy to prestige my Division and he is the only way you can prestige. Game ran pretty bad tonight. Way too many hit markers in regular making it hard to put someone down, and even in hardcore we were getting hit markers and having trouble killing people. This game since release has really had my blood pressure up... so many damn problems!!!!

Modern games need to turn off the stupid lag compensation and have dedicated servers based on ping. Until they do that, you're at the mercy of the netcode.

With most COD games, you're better off purposely slowing your connection down. Stream netflix to your phone or something. Instead, people with a better ping should be rewarded, not punished.

I remember back in the PC days when high speed internet was just getting going, so you had some people still on modems and others on (at the time) super fast connections. Everyone still played and had fun. People with bad connections were encouraged to get a better connection, not rewarded.

I always play console MP without any other downloading going on.

But considering what people say about lag comp, I might as well stream something on the side.

But yeah, who doesn't remember playing Unreal and server searching for the ones with the lowest ping. And it worked. The better the ping, the better the game played.

Find a server at 1000 ping and it was fine. Dabble with one at 4000 ping and moved like crap.
