Call Of Duty: WWII

That would be Ghosts
I played AW and Ghosts maybe 10 matches of MP each. Trash. BO3 is way better than either of them. Then Infinite Warfare came out and didn't touch it. It was tempting with CoD 4 Remastered included, but I held tight. First CoD game I never bought (aside from CoD 1 on PC I never played).

I guess Activision held tight too. I thought by now, they'd released CoD 4: R as a $30 download. It's been half a year. But they haven't.

I'm hoping this game ends up good. I couldn't get enough of WWII shooters back in the day. I would even settle for a remastered version of MOH:AA if it were possible.

Tomorrow can't come fast enough!

It's pretty certain the game will be slower paced and boots to the ground. Although I see the maps more open.

I'm hoping for more basic weapons, attachments and killstreaks too. Weapons and attachments should be automatically subdued due to the setting, but I'm hoping for killstreaks that are also more subdued. Since MW2, every game has like 15 killstreaks. It adds variety, but some of them are overpowered..... chopper gunner in any CoD game.

I'm indifferent about tanks.

Tanks in WaW added variety to the maps, but the maps were also too big for the number of foot soldiers on each team.

Tanks also added an extreme to the game. A team with a good driver or getting all the tanks, or a team that has no idea how to take out a tank could lead to lopsided matches.

The most lopsided matches were always tank maps.

I liked the tanks and those maps in WaW. I had many "no death" matches in a tank. Most people would just try to rush you in the wide open with a satchel. Or I would hang back and when they would rocket me a couple times I would jump out and run to get into another tank and keep going. I had no trouble taking out tanks I would throw my satchels over a wall or building and stay behind cover. Good times.

"Schofield won't talk about the health system yet, but auto-restoration is not happening. Reading between the lines, I gather that med-packs are the likely solution, perhaps even called for from medics, rather than just sitting around.

"You have to worry about every bullet," says Schofield. "You're not the superhero. You can't just stand there taking seven bullets, ducking, shooting again. It's refreshing for us to deal with recruits who aren't tier-one warriors, to show that vulnerability. They're naive. It's been a really cool challenge creating this different kind of gameplay."

Call of Duty: WWII Multiplayer combat immerses players in grounded, fast-paced action featuring an arsenal of authentic weapons and equipment, set in some of the most iconic locations in World War II’s European theater. Multiplayer also delivers a new approach to character and create-a-class through Divisions, War, an all-new narrative multiplayer mode of play, and Headquarters, a first of its kind for the Call of Duty social community, designed for players to interact and socialize with friends. The definitive World War II next generation experience also introduces Nazi Zombies, an all-new cooperative mode featuring a unique standalone storyline set during World War II that’s full of unexpected, adrenaline-pumping action. Look for more information about Multiplayer at E3 and the Nazi Zombies cooperative experience at a later date.

Was a bit meh...hope they can do something new with WWII. The Normandy landing thing has been done to death before. Why not Vietnam \ Korean war set during the cold war.

Stolen from GAF:

Information:
  • The game release on November 3rd, 2017 for PC, PS4, and XB1. It's made by Sledgehammer Games, who last did Advanced Warfare.
  • There's your regular 30 day exclusivity map window on the PS4 version.
  • There will be a private beta that you can get into by pre-ordering. It will be at least three days long.
  • There's a regular $60 edition, or a $100 edition that comes with a bunch of bonuses and the season pass.
  • The game takes place in World War II, which you may have inferred from the title.
  • The campaign primarily focuses on the European theater and follows the actions of a U.S. 1st Infantry Division squad from the perspective of rookie private Ronald “Red” Daniels as they fight from France, through Belgium, and into Germany between 1944 to 1945. You will play as other characters during the campaign.
  • However, the campaign also features missions taking place between 1940 and 1944 to "help set the stage for the narrative and establish the characters".
  • It's worth noting that the official blog repeatedly mentions things like "global perspective", "diverse ensemble cast", and "men and women", so if you were hoping for minority or female presence within the campaign, you're in luck. The French Resistance is listed as one such group you encounter.
  • If you specifically want to know all the game's diversity (feel free to discuss this without using spoiler tags in the thread): "Other characters appear including female resistance fighters, a soldier in an African-American unit (the U.S. Army was still segregated in WWII), a British officer and even a child."
  • Two campaign missions were detailed during the livestream. While I'm spoiler tagging these in the OP, feel free to talk at them at length without using spoiler tags. This is your primary warning for people concerned about knowing campaign mission details.
  • The game doesn't have regenerating health, though they're not saying what is replacing it yet. You will be much more vulnerable in the game in general, and this is also reflected in the story.
  • Mission 1: Hürtgen Forest: An old-growth forest on the German border where Allied forces engage in devastating encounters. In the heat of battle, the German Army uses tree burst bombs that detonate at treetop level, showering soldiers with wooden shrapnel. When your unit is zeroed-in-on by hostile artillery, the forest explodes around you as debris rains down.
  • Mission 2: Normandy: From inside a Higgins landing boat, your squad will storm Omaha Beach in a visceral audiovisual experience unlike any D-Day landing experienced in a game to date. You and your fellow soldiers must overcome the enemy defenses to serve as the tip of the spear for the Allied invasion.
  • Josh Duhamel will be in the campaign as part of your Squad.
  • There's also a separate cooperative campaign that they're not talking about yet. It sounds like this is separate from the below note, but I'm not 100% sure.
  • Seemingly in addition to the co-op campaign, the game will have Zombies mode. Specifically, "Nazi Zombies, an all-new cooperative mode featuring a unique standalone storyline set during World War II that’s full of unexpected, adrenaline-pumping action."
  • The game's multiplayer will be revealed at E3 between June 13th and June 15th, but we know a few starting details:
  • The game features "boots on the ground" gameplay. If you didn't like the new movement stuff introduced with Advanced Warfare, this one is for you.
  • There is now a social hub called "Headquarters" where you can hang out and meet up with friends. Think The Tower in Destiny or a town in World of Warcraft. There's a screenshot of this below.
  • There's a mode called Divisions where you choose to join the Infantry, Airborne, or Armored division, create your own class, and then "progress through the ranks". Presumably this has something to do with unlocks.
  • In multiplayer, beyond American G.I.s, you can play as "women resistance fighters, Brits, African-American GIs and others to be announced". You can also play as German.
  • There is another mode called War. "War is the name given to objective-based team contests between axis and allies that are all about taking ground, so there will be missions that task one side with defense and the other with attack."
  • In case that "Headquarters" note sounded bizarre, Sledgehammer's explanation is "Headquarters is a "social space" for players to hang out between matches, to "be rewarded and have fun."
  • I will try to update this as more info comes out today.

I understand why it's in Battlefield. With some of the huge maps when you get stuck running a long way to get back into the action.
Blops one I always ran The attack dogs just for that reason . I would get my streaks real quick and use the chopper gunner and the dogs at the same time to flush out campers and pick them off in the chopper gunner . Worked like a champ .

Battlefield is not nearly as bad because Running still puts you at a disadvantage. There is at least some recovery time involved. Battlefield captures movement near-perfectly, imo. I can almost feel my boots slappin' the dirt :D

assuming Scorpio is out by then i will be getting every 3rd party on that

Scorpio is indeed the obvious choice. I can check off the reasons:

I see no reason to settle for worse graphics, worse performance, lower performing online service just for a 30 day window of getting 3-4 maps early. Talk about bass ackwards.

I see Xbox marketing has put Call of Duty WWII as the big banner on the Xbox.com page now. Also here is more on pre-ordering and getting the Xbox beta:

I like how the colour palette is more gritty, with blood and bodies flying everywhere.

That didn't stop you from buying the worst version the last 3 years.

But yeah, i agree. Day one on Scorpio is the obvious choice if you can swing it. Even with the worse performing version, i wouldn't fault someone for getting it on Xbox One S just for the controller preference though.
