Activision was notoriously absent from E3 this year, and perhaps for good reason. Participating in the video game industry's largest annual expo takes a tremendous amount of planning and a sky-high budget to match it. So when the publisher of the most popular first person shooter announced that it was going to host its second Call of Duty XP event in five years, bowing out of E3 this year made complete sense.

Held at the Forum in Inglewood, CA, COD XP was a video game event like no other. For Call of Duty fans, the sold-out, three-day festival was a bonanza, celebrating their beloved game franchise with tons of gaming and a slew of activities to participate in.

Attendees were able to play the upcoming Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, Infinite Warfare Zombies, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered Multiplayer, and Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 DLC 4. Between their gaming sessions, they had the chance to step off of a giant tower to zip line across the venue, play paintball in a real-life recreation of Nuketown, wrestle in sumo/juggernaut suits, play laser tag, and watch world class players compete in the Call of Duty World League Championship.

On the final day of COD XP, attendees saw Team EnVyUs take home the win and claim the title of World League Championship winners. To close off the event, Snoop Dogg and Wiz Khalifa took the stage for a live concert.

Awesome stuff as usual.

This is open to all fans right? Not just the media? The paintball sounds awesome. If they brought this to NY one day I'd definitely go.

Yes, the game feels like the best COD since the franchise went the future route.
Ace, did you play the game?

Compared to Black Ops 3, how is it? I forget which video it was, but a YT gamer said it plays a bit slower than BO 3. You agree? If so, is it because of foot speed, or more like less razzle dazzle jet pack jumping and that kind of stuff?

Just skimmed the vid..... thank you... Trip Mines are there. Good for about 2 kills per game.

Sharpshooter perk sound great..... increased damage at long distance hits..... should do well with my AR/LMG shooting.

I can't say that it's slower than BO3. There are a lot of factors that go into impressions, most important of all is familiarity with the maps. Not knowing where you can go means you're stopping to look around more, which makes the game seem slower. Sorry I can't be more helpful.

That actually looks like a fun time. Good on Activision for making a special event for CoD. I know it gets a ton of crap, but it's become a rather iconic franchise.
